East of Bakersfield? You must be on State Highway 58 heading towards Mojave, that is a beautiful drive through the mountains, drove through there a few times myself.
You should have gone to Lake Tahoe, absolutely the most beautiful drive in the west.I rented a car in San Francisco and made the drive over, they gave me a crappy Chrysler that I have no idea how it made it through the mountains, going uphill I had my foot all the way down on.the accelerator and it was still struggling to get to 60mph.
I love your pronunciation of Tehachapi at 28:00 The Wikipedia page on Tehachapi California has an audio recording of the pronunciation of Tehachapi, check it out.
Hey kids, you’re doing great! I’m familiar with Tehachapi and I have been to Reds (Red House) BBQ. I didn’t think it was the absolute greatest but you guys may have had a better experience than I had, and it’s probably the only barbecue place in the area. If you thought that Highway 58 is nerve-racking, when you get back east try I-40 south of Asheville, North Carolina toward the state line with South Carolina. Ever present traffic and construction over there. I very much enjoyed your videos while driving up the Central Coast. I also thought that Corpus Christi was interesting as well. Katie is doing a fantastic job. Her driving skills are improving. She has gained confidence. I grew up in Southern California so I am somewhat familiar with some of the 31:57 places that you have been in. Continued safe travels and enjoyment. I look forward to seeing more of your travel adventure videos. Be safe and be well.
Wao good vedio bro

Last place I visited in CA was Big Bear, CA is very scenic no doubt. It would take you over a month see all of CA - enjoying this
The scenery outwest is better than over east. Other than that food and people are better over east. Its raining right now the part of cali im in.
You should head towards Lake Tahoe and Reno NV.
Snow now
That is daily occurring traffic on the 58 between Bakersfield and Tehachapi. One big reason I will not commute.
