    Dr. Leary WAS responsible for quite abit of his own demise by his own persona. He seemed a little wacky, spaced out, HIGH in manner .BUT, if you watch & study his earlier years as a student of LSD, he was totally brilliant. His work at Harvard & Millbrook, N.Y. were IMPORTANT in research & beyond!

      I agree on that. The interviews that I have seen from his early days regarding the LSD experience were insightful and uncolored but as time went on he seemed to fall prey to his own slogans. He was a bit of a self promoter using LSD as his platform. I do agree that he appears to be intellectually intact.

    Fascinating to be observing this some 31 yrs later. Not sure what's going on in the psychedelic community these days; but w/ the relaxation of laws governing the sale of marijuana, it wouldn't surprise me if there has been continued experimentation (and hopefully psychic growth), within that category....

      I'm making my first film about it, psychedelics were the answer in the 40's! 50's gave the world awareness of psilocyn through Sabina, Leary and Hoffman, 60s the counter culture, 70s... Vietnam proxy war with Russia, 80's crack in the streets off cia money and a fake war on "drugs", 90's attack of the middle east, and so on, now its America vs China vs Russia and all 3 governments are in bed together against the people... So, do you think that we could still have a productive society with people working most days of the week and still putting food on their families tables and also part taking in Ayahuasca, Mushrooms, Peyote and so on. I love grass, don’t smoke it much anymore, but think we need something stronger, lots of pieces of thrash smoke weed, not just good folks. I’d like to see a world with psychedelic politicians and less work hours and more time for family and creativity. And really get to work with building new societies to replace religion and to really educate kids is the most vital of all steps, good educated kids become adults with a conscience who in turn, bring up good balanced educated children. I believe in work, just not slavery. And there should never be a single young person unemployed or judged by their resume. Our society is so backward...

    • @5sick2
      @5sick2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it is possible as long as we take the correct doses while also doing the shadow work before doing these psychedelics. It is like spiritual training and once we take these trips we should take the knowledge they gave us and use it when coming back from these higher realms. Meditation, breath work and having a good symbiotic relationship with nature is also important when making a better productive society. After my heroic dosage with psilocybin I quit smoking cannabis since well i seen it as mindlessly smoking, I did not need it anymore. As you said many people who are not well smoke it still. However many who do psychedelics (specifically small amounts but still) are not well minded either. It also comes back to us and the work we have to put in soberly.

      I think we need wisdom to use industry wisely as a source of human development rather than as a source of making money and status. This is where psycodelics are needed, because the old religions have been interpreted to fit the worst of industrialized life and therefore, other than social get togethers, are no longer valid. We need a new religion that can be understood by all, focusing on respect for the planet, all life including ourselves and each other, having little to nothing to do with money, status or ruling others. This would be how we solve over population, global warming, mass murder, poverty and on. People building their dreams rather than earning wage begrudged by employer and employee.

I think of how he was persecuted by the Nixonian thugs and other governments for merely exercising free speech. Psychedelics ar epre religion, there old, they are ingestible religion. Ask anybody whos done it, and it comes across as something that is religious and if its before religion how does one describe it other than to in turn create religion in a poor effort to describe whatever higher power you just witnessed. Ingesting something that makes you believe in the power of free love is incredibly dangerous, why on earth would a politician allow anybody to tighten his coin purse with such a device? of course your gonna try get it gone, but to deny its flexibility is really just stimulating curiosity in people.

      @@rohitjangid90s Dr Leary's used psychoactive substances as tools to induce transcendental states of consciousness. He was an expert practitioner in this regard. Indeed, he started his research, with psilocybin and mescaline, whilst working as a Harvard professor. Leary considered LSD to be advanced "psycho-bio-neuro meta-programming technology" which bypassed the need for expert meditation skills, but which had the potential to enable the same "higher states" of awareness achieved by spiritual adepts. There is a link between Dr Leary and the Dalai Lama. Leary wrote an interpretation of the Tibetan Book of the Dead to place the "psychedelic experience" into its proper context. Correct protocol was everything: Set and Setting was his mantra. Leary wasn't interested in mere hedonism ... Well ... sometimes he was 🙂
      I agree with you about the revolutionary aspect. Leary was a mercurial character who reinvented himself multiple times: Harvard Prof, Hippy Guru, and Rebel Leader and Candidate for Governor of California. The Establishment were not happy about his growing influence, and It was for this reason that Leary was given a 30 year jail term for the alleged possession of two joints. So it goes.
