As an American I loved seeing what caught your eye in our supermarket because on my trip to England I was also enamored by your supermarkets.
Based on your “astronaut food” comment, I think you’re really going to be disappointed with the Annie’s Mac and cheese, as the cheese packet is powder. I recommend mixing the powder, milk and butter in the saucepan without the pasta first and only add the pasta after all of the powder is dissolved. That way you won’t get a bite of pasta with a chunk of powder inside.

Luke and Zara, I so enjoyed your trip to New York video!! I visited there during a student exchange in my university days. I remember how exciting the city was, and so amazing to go to the Empire State Building or shop at Macy’s. I was there just three days but the memories will never be forgotten. The little restaurant plates you picked up are from ‘ Homer Laughlin’, a famous American China company well known for their restaurant ware. Love and best regards from Canada 🇨🇦!!

I live 45 minutes from the Homer Laughlin factory. They have a store there that sells first quality and seconds. It's always fun to go see what they have. Some of the older pieces, especially those in discontinued colors can be worth money. I just enjoy having some of thier bright colors! So glad you and Zara enjoyed New York!

The everything but the elote seasoning is amazing - elote refers to Mexican street corn and that seasoning goes great on some popcorn (with an healthy amount of melted butter of course). Add it for your next binge watch. You won’t regret it. Promise. Also great on cottage cheese and in soups and such too. Love it.

Love Trader Joe's, unfortunately the closest one to me is an hour away, but I've been known to make the drive! The poultry and dairy issue is due to bird flu, it's becoming a huge problem here. Glad you liked the Sour Patch Kids. Don't eat too many at one sitting or they'll make your tongue sore, no lie!

And those plates are Homer Laughlin--pronounced Loch-lon. They have made plates and assorted other items for the restaurant business in the US for YEARS, those are a true bit of American history! They are based in Newell, WV, I have been to their plant as well as Hall China which they acquired. Cool find! Go read up on them, I think you'll find it very interesting.

I thoroughly enjoyed your NYC vlogs, Luke! I'm delighted that you and Zara had such a lovely trip!
The absolute best meal I have ever had was at Tony's Di Napoli! My boyfriend and I were the last ones there after polishing off the Linguini with Seafood Marinara. I'd never had anything like it in my life!
It was late, so we were debating having the wait staff stay to serve us coffee and dessert when a man walked up and asked us where we were from.
Of course, we said Anderson, SC (we're half way between Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC). He smiled, whispered something to our server, and sent her away.
He the told us he knew Anderson quite well. He was the owner of Tony's, and a number of other businesses.
He often travels to Florida on business and drives, bc he inevitably ends up carrying and/or bringing furniture, fixtures, and the like to and fro!
He said that he always stops to stay in Anderson bc everyone is so kind, and we have a beautiful town. He also mentioned that all up and down the trip, everyone seems so angry and ragged. But, not in Anderson!
Obviously, we were proud to hear that, and delighted when our server appeared with two cups of coffee and two huge cannolis. We said thank you, and he waved his hand and said it's on the house.
He said to take our time and thanked us for stopping in. It was so gracious of him to just hear our accents and know where we were from ... and, to speak to us so kindly!
We dropped in again for another round of cannolis and coffee before going to the airport, and once again he stopped by, greeting us by our names. We said our good byes, and once again, the meal was on the house! What a wonderful experience meeting such an incredible soul!
Another quick one, but this time in London. My mother and I were at the Tower Bridge Pub and had just ordered. A young couple came up to us, and the young man asked if we were from South Carolina. Of course, we said yes, and he said SC was the best kept secret in America! He loved it here!
He said he would lifeguard during his uni summers at Myrtle Beach, and said they were the best years of his life!
He ordered a pitcher of pimms for us, and we asked them to join us. We had a lively conversation and lovely meal together hearing all about his travels from the mountains to the sea here in SC. It was a great time!
So, let's just say, you bring with you so many memories from trips like that in the people you meet and the places you go! I'm so glad the two of you found so much to do and see and EAT!
Next time, y'all need to plan a trip to Charleston and Myrtle Beach, SC for the best history and beaches the South has to offer!
    Yall c'mon down!❤

I enjoyed my coffee mocha made at home while I watched you show all your purchases from NYC.
Fun items too… you both had such a lovely, fulfilled, eventful time in the city and covered so much in a week. Youth is on your side for sure, this 76 yr old Nana was exhausted just watching you both…😅 but so enjoyed seeing it all.
Love the excitement in your voices. As you have the toy to Maggie I lol cause my min schnauzer would have it destroyed in no time with her playfulness.
Milk duds are cool but got to be carful with the caramel inside. The Big Hunk is a nouget and good too.
Those Tate Chocolate cookies are so good. Ina Garten has a recipe for a delicious cake that is a game changer as a holiday or special ovation desert that you would enjoy making.
Sending love and hugs to you all. ❤❤❤

On the corduroy pants you can use a button extender. If it has a button and buttonhole. Shirt can be tucked in add belt. No one the wiser. The seasoning ELOTE could be used on corn on the cob. Soft butter, not melted, spread over the corn placed on foil. Evenly sprinkled on the cob. The foil will catch any extra spices. Close the foil around the whole cob. Put on grill when cooking out. Turn occasionally. Best corn ever!!! Campfire is my go-to candle fragrance. Have A Great Day!!!

Hi Luke! I’ve tried a few of the Dolly Parton baking mixes & they are good. I mostly use her cornbread for whenever I make chili. You should have tried the watermelon Sourpatch Kids because they’re really delish & I just knew you were going to get that sugar pot at Anthropology. It just screams your style. 😉 Thanks for sharing your haul with us. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas. 😊❄️☃️

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is a coffee roaster and retailer based in Portland, Oregon, United States. The chain's first location opened in 1999. Three other cafes, a roastery and a tasting annex have since opened in Portland, as well as locations in Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles, Stumptown is a nickname for Portland Oregon because of the early logging.
