Those look really fun. I found some links to their old kickstarters & it mentions shipping is high to the US. That sounds like they may be too expensive for me but we will see. Thanks for showing these.
Just spent an inordinate amount backing all 5 volumes, can't wait! I used to be a fan of these guys back in their small-press days at cons, with Malcolm Magic and Moon!, even back then, they'd have panels in their comics that looked like a Where's Wally page, and produced so fast!
Teoh I love the cinematic style at the beginning of your book reviews. I picture myself trying that shot & just knocking books off the shelf or something embarrassing lol
another great review Teoh - Would really like you to produce a book - I would definitely buy that. Your work and and thought process is so captivating and inspiring. Peace and respect, Ben
Scott LeMien do you think the writing one is worth it? I have the other two but this writing one is too close to the previous so I don’t have the funds
They only sell them on kickstarter, only a certain amount of them, only physical copies. This is an age-old practise of artificially increasing rarity, thus making price-gouging possible.
If anyone is looking to buy these, I have the set and I'm considering selling them! Please DM me if you're interested. They are fantastic, I've just worked through them! :)
Dude no book can ever really teach you how to draw! That's like finding the perfect 100% security box which means it those not exist. The only real way out of this is through your own trial and error experiences. Just go out and start drawing everything everyday little by little your brain will feed you the core fundamentals which is all you really need to put it all together and so it can finally make sense to you like seeing the truth with your own eyes! So Now you know the secret behind it all. Which there is non just you and the willingness to create those core abilities. Is like learning to drive for the first time. Once you get it your be able to get a better handle.
You can certainly learn through trial and error. But you can also learn faster from others who have spent years to go through the trial and error. eg. Do you think you will learn perspective faster through trial and error vs from someone?

Really love how visual and comic-like the layout is. Quite interested in cartoon style too.

Color Crazy I think it was $15 for shipping each time I bought the Kickstarter
Teoh, When are you going to publish a book? Haha. Seriously, though, I think it would be a great idea for you to publish a book of your works.
It's too tedious to put out a book. Lol. I prefer my relaxing lifestyle now. 😂
