Using Your Time Wisely; how to stay productive by maximizing small moments throughout the day!

- Rajiv is often referred to as a modern-day Renaissance Man and today he shares his approach to juggling many practices. Small segments of time can be utilized to great effect-a few minutes here and there add up significantly. Knitting and sketching may not be your thing, but Rajiv's approach can be applied to many other practices and hobbies.
Rajiv values the small moments throughout the day as vital to both his physical and mental well-being, and he attributes many of his skills to effective time-management.

As I was watching, I had convinced myself that he would offer suggestions on how to spend time on your lunch break polishing your resume, and that waiting in line at the grocery store is a great opportunity to answer emails and reply to texts. My poor broken soul is still recovering from the relief that it's perfectly OK to just think and breath. His productivity *goals* are indeed just: think and breath. I'm weeping.
My hope is that you realize that while you're waiting in line, thinking and breathing are both much more beneficial to you than answering emails.
@@rajivsurendra Since you're into music, practicing small rhythmic exercises is great while waiting or even walking around. All you need is your hands, as long as you don't mind looking a little dorky ;)

Awww how beautiful! Thank you for sharing and for giving me a new way to look at this.
I can't be the only one who wants a "day in the life of Rajiv" video now? :D
Thank you, Rajiv, for teaching us how to make the little things in life more beautiful.
Also thinking about it, A day in a life with every in between moments he has on his plate. ❤
Your authenticity sets you apart, Rajiv. It’s so clear that you’re not curating a lifestyle FOR social media, you’re just pursuing a truly genuine life which happens to be captured and shared from time to time. That’s the difference. So refreshing.
Well stated. ❤
Yes. I’m enjoying these beautiful videos very much.
It’s not wrong to click the “like” button before watching any of your videos Rajiv.
No, it’s not! 😅
Ha, that's sweet, and I can relate :)
Yep. It’s going to be a good, sweet and gentle reminder to stop and be.
I always click like as soon as I start the video and I never regret it by the end.
I do it all the time! 😂
rajiv, i do not know what planet you dropped in from to grace us with your presence, your grace and wisdom and incredible multi-talented universe, but every single time i listen to you, i find myself developing a new habit that makes me better, calmer, more peaceful and more content. and now, i will find a smaller journal i can fit into my purse that i will take everywhere with me--capturing those moments i always wish i had written down. yes, you truly are a renaissance man, except you don't seem like a modern day one, you seem to me like a timeless one. you are such a treasure. 💕

I try to pray when I am waiting. For so much that is wrong in this world. For people and countries that are suffering from oppression. I pray to Jesus.
This is so so refreshing. I’ve been watching a lot of productivity videos on TH-cam. All of them - ALL of them made me feel anxious because they’re either filled with theories, techniques, lectures, guilt trip, “over-engineered” methods, or just pretentious. But this right here, pulls me back into my present moment. Rajiv somehow can calm me down and talk to us like a friend would. His sharing is so grounded, simple and genuine. There’s no guilt tripping, there’s no fear mongering theories of I’d be left behind if I am not productive. I feel that I can just… be. I think it’s true that life can be as simple. And there’s also one key takeaway from this, always be in the present if I want to better use my fragmented time. Doom scrolling on my phone is my number 1 time killer atm. I need to get back to just breathing, crocheting and sketching ❤
This was exactly how I felt approaching this episode!! The word "productive" made me tentative to click on it, but my trust for Rajiv immediately outweighed by apprehension and I am so glad I had trust. I really appreciate that productivity for Rajiv means more that you are living a holistically satisfying life by making valuable use of your time instead of being motivated by what you think you "should" be doing or the amount of work or profit that is getting done. Once again I am so grateful to have found this channel and other like-minded people.
Breathing.....I take very shallow breaths. There are times I find how bad it actually is. I cannot say this enough to you...THANK YOU. I work retail and today was actually a night when I was home at a decent time. I fell asleep. My 13 year old reminsee me that I had waited all week to work until a decent hour. I didn't even eat dinner. Determined now to go into the kitchen and make us both something light but filling and enjoy some time catching up. Tomorrow is Sunday...no school a n d I dont have to be at work until 3.
@@lindabyrnes4356there's some good resources on TH-cam like 'aria breath' and Take A Deep Breath. I'd be a little careful/ cautious of the Wim Hof style if you have health issues.
Rajiv, you are truly a breath of fresh air. Thank you for these worthwhile moments.
I remember a dear friend of mine (sadly passed) once said when she was on the bus NO ONE was looking out the window. Everyone was on their phones, how sad. It struck me deeply how technology has stolen us. Look out the window while you're breathing deeply and take in life.
Thrilled that you included “just” thinking. It is so important!
I relish the free time when I choose to just think. It feels phenomenal.
You know it really hit me when he said that. Then I don't just think enough about what I " what I" I'm doing and spending time on.
No one else. Just me.
😳

If you do something long enough, you will infact Master it. 😊
Now, I’m wondering, like me, how many people while listening about deep breathIng began doing it! ☺️
I did!
Aanaapaanasati………..mindful breathing.
Sure did! It felt good!
Years ago my New Year’s resolution was to memorize 12 poems. Today I remember most of them and use them regularly to quiet myself for sleep. The take it with you idea has inspired me to put the original 12 and 12 more on my phone to use down moments to build my repertoire. Thank you Rajiv!
Love this ☝️
When I have a long drive, 2 hours or more, I often bring a poem to memorize while driving
That’s a wonderful idea! Thank you for sharing 😊
That is so beautiful and inspiring. I love poetry. As a kid I would memorize poems so quickly. And now I am usually disappointed that I don’t recall my favorite poems. But we think that we need to learn something quickly nowadays. I am going to make your challenge for myself, 5 poems until the end of the year, sounds amazing to me. Thank you so much for the inspiration, have a wonderful day fellow human!
Wow, I LOVE this idea so much. May have to borrow it! Thank you for sharing.
I practice "smiling." it is amazing the change that comes over a strangers face when you just smile at them.
Yes, Sandra! That's wonderful. Something I need to work on...thank you!
I have incorporated this as well!! I have always struggled with anxiety. Every time I would be out in public, I'd feel a huge weight in my body. Then I discovered smiling! It is so simple that it almost seems stupid, but putting a smile on my face eventually convinces my mind that everything is going to be alright. It's the most peculiar thing. The best part is watching how people respond to the warmth that radiates from a simple smile! If any of you are reading this, don't listen to the pessimists. You should smile more!!
To either start, or take your smiling up a notch, smile with your intake breath. (You will discover your tongue rests on the roof of your mouth naturally.) And also smile with your exhale of breath. How does this make you feel? Filled with joy! Try it!
Thank you for this. I’m going to smile today.
You bring this old 70 year old grandmother joy❤️
Thanks for watching, Lenora 💗
Listening to your video has made it apparent that I am really great at wasting time and feeling very guilty and lazy about that for way too long. Funny thing is…is that other people perceive me as very productive! My daughter whose self image photos is a sloth which speaks to her self denigration sense of humor…said yesterday the she was “Behind in Life”! I thought this comment to be very amusing and what I love so much about her! She is wonderful and brilliant and yes…gets very messy and disorganized at times…but then she can gather herself and clean up amazing well. Our favorite thing to do is go to IKEA together and complete great storage and home improvement projects. I could go on…but just want to Breathe and say a huge thank you for sharing so many wonderful you do and how you value quality and all things beautiful and made by hand. I think we have a lot in common…I learned Chopin’s Nocturne #19 for my sweetheart in preparation for his visit..who I ended up marrying 38 years ago. And I too am a pottery and art collector. I know if we were neighbors in a different life, we would go antiquing and enjoy cooking and eating! Not to sound creepy in anyway but the company you keep can be inspiring or take you down a bad road. We must all choose wisely and increase our time with loved ones who are meaningful to us! “Water seeks its own level”! Keep the Force as I know you’ll do! Sending many Blessings your way Thank you again for sharing so many Life affirming videos!🥰
I love that you did not have to mention getting away from screens . I often say to young people that turning off their phone and computer and finding that moment where they are almost uncomfortable in their silence (or often the word "Board "comes up) :That is the moment space is left open for inspiration to find you .. The breathing or having a clear clean table are the tilling of the garden that lets the magic come and blossom .. What a great clip Rajiv ...
Thanks, Master Wolff. You are one of the people in my life that helps me see how far one can go with focus on the craft...large and small.
Rajiv, your channel is a gem. At the age of 42 now I'm really ill and your videos give me some peace in these hard times.
hugs. I feel the same way.
Well I'm praying that you're better
Thank you for mentioning taking time to breath Rajiv! As a mental health therapist I try to teach my clients the importance of breath. Being mindful of your breath and learning how to breath helps reduce anxiety and stress and supports our overall health!
Thanks, Carmen. Yes! That's wonderful that you focus on breathing with your clients. It's a fundamental function of life, it deserves our focus!
No Breath No Life!
Know Breath Know Life!
I hope more folks adopt a definition of “productivity” that includes embracing life, building beloved skills, and breathing and thinking deeply. Thank you for this, especially the tour of your sketchbook!
Is there anything that Rajiv can't do? What an amazingly guy! This channel always inspires me. What a gem he is!
You need to talk about your gold Kadaas. Their design looks immaculate and royal. Please share about that in one of your videos.
Abundant love from TamilNadu❤️

I love this man. The tone, the inflection, the gorgeous hat. What an accomplishment! And yet it's such a gentle thing. There's no pretention. God it's beautiful.
Beginning my day watching your video with a cup of coffee. Valuable and well spent time. Thank you, Rajiv. ♥️
Same here! Watching this with coffee and breakfast :)
Rajiv, I love that not once did you say put your phone away. 🙋🏼♀️🇨🇭
Book recommendation: “5,203 Things to Do Instead of Looking at Your Phone” by Barbara Ann Kipfer (Workman Publishing , 2020). The author writes a short two-page introduction, and the list just begins. The list is quite comprehensive. I would love to see Rajiv interview her someday. I think it would be epic! Thank you for reminding me of this precious book. Be well!
I like that Rajiv never said what not to do with our time, but reframed it for us to each reflect and come to those conclusions ourselves.
Another beautiful video that makes me feel lighter going into my day. Thank you.
A useful way of starting to find what things to do with the little moments can be to simply make time to let yourself become bored without actively doing anything to be less bored. That way, in the boredom, you might find out what it is you'd actually rather be doing. It's in those little moments that you can grow as a person, if you give yourself the opportunity.
My son just turned 17 and you remind me of him very much. He uses his beautiful items everyday, learned and values having the best for himself, treasures a more simple, sophisticated way of life. I show him your videos and he loves them. Thank you for sharing. I also carry a sketchbook with me.
It’s great to be reminded that these moments add up. So much more valuable than staring at a cell phone!
I am remembering a time before cell phones when people did exactly what you do on a regular basis. I spent several years commuting on a train into Chicago and I always found it fascinating to watch how people spent their commuting time on the train. Men mostly read (newspapers) or slept, occasionally they would have conversations with coworkers or other friends. Sometimes you'd see a man or a woman simply staring out the window watching the world go by. Women also read (usually books), but also worked on needlework projects, knitting, crocheting, embroidering. There were groups of people that would sit together on a regular basis and chat, coming and going to work. You never felt alone on the train and there was a sense of conviviality about that time together with mostly strangers. I recently took a train into the city and, with a couple of exceptions, everyone was on some type of electronic equipment. No conversations, no laughing, no projects. I saw one person with an actual book and several people sleeping. That sense of community and togetherness was gone. It was such a stark contrast to years past. Such a sad thing to experience.
I love going for walks , without my phone. People should try it, you feel refreshed and actually notice the world around you. Leave your phone in another room for an hour even and just read a book or go for a walk. Or learn a new skill, I am 57 and just started playing the drums about 4 months ago and love it! Our culture makes people feel guilty if they just sit quietly and think, It's getting harder for people to do.
My productive time is to contemplate and enjoy being rather than doing. Its a spiritual growth exercise.
Rajiv I just want to say that this set up, sitting at your beat up table in your beautiful home is soooo simple BUT extremely engaging. Your storytelling skills, your enthusiasm for the topic, your humour, it just makes for a wonderful show! I love to hear your take on topics because it is always thought provoking. All the best.
I'm a knitter and I suggest to everyone I know to take their knitting with them! A row here and there eventually adds up and it's so much better than scrolling on your phone
I have always wanted to write a book. Loads of ideas but no discipline, and ADHD. But someone said, just do a thousand words a day. Get out your computer, sit down and write, doesn't have to be great, no editing, just do. So l started getting up an hour earlier, a 5.30 am. And l would write. Then l started getting up at 5 am, because l was so loving the process. Three weeks in l have 31k words and about two thirds away from the first draft. Just finding the right time, and the discipline to make small inroads into my joy of authorship.
So is it close to being a published book? Well done. Give yourself a big pat on the back.
standing in line is also a good time to learn a new language with a little phone app
I came across your 'life' by watching 'Home Made' on HGTV, this morning...and I am hooked. What a beautiful soul you possess. Your creative blood is such an inspiration for any and all who need to just BE! I have only watched 2 videos thus far, this being the second, and I can't help being drawn in to all you offer in the way of ancient old sage thinking and direction (should one wish to learn) in order to move about in this ugly environment called 'modern living'. I, like you, possess many abilities to try and succeed just about anything. From art to cooking to creative baking to decorating to landscaping to designing gardens to...other things. I, UNLIKE you, have been stuck my whole life, seemingly unable to remove the sticky tar that keeps me in the trauma of many yesteryears abuse. I can't seem to move about in my own life freely and with confidence, despite the numerous accolades of family and friends. I am so drawn and impressed by your loving and caring soul of sharing simple things to help remove the road blocks in life. Your genteel way of talking is soothing, encouraging, inspiring. I will watch everything you post, implement all that I can, and will, I believe, feel my own life breath again. I know this is a long post, but I wanted you to know the impact you have (for many, I'm sure) on me. To this, I say thank you.
When talent is born as a man it's Rajiv
Wow, what a special way to enjoy every moment of your valued life. Very inspiring and an eye opener for many. Rajiv you are wise soul put on this earth to inspire many to be better human being. 🙏🏼❤️
This video tells me that you live your life “on purpose”. I noticed there is no television in your apartment. Not having that particular appliance in the home would free up a lot of time for most people to enable them to have more time to their life on purpose. I include myself in that equation 😀. Thank you for this video Rajiv.
Yes! Same. I want to hear more about his reasoning for not having one.
I don’t have a tv either and yes! It does free up so much time and my mental health is better too
As usual, your floral arrangements are gorgeous and the first thing I notice. They should be photographed or painted and be made into prints available for purchase.
Also I love that you take Amtrak!! Let's normalize rail travel, again!
The most elegant and epitome of sophistication you are, Rajiv
As a recent parent, I can agree with this whole heartedly. 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there collectively can create something.
Rajiv, as I watched one of your productions yesterday I thought to myself “Wow, this guy is really talented, he is skilled in so many ways!” And then you released this video! I once heard the idea about talent; one becomes talented, it’s not just a natural ability. You become talented because you practice a certain skill. Talent is just the result of determined practice.
In our world of mindless busyness it’s wonderful to have examples of intentional living so Thank you.
Excellent reminder to live fully. I do wish you would talk about grammar. Have you noticed how modern people have trouble conjugating verbs? Or differentiating between singular and plural? Instead of using are they are lazy and use is even if the subject is plural. I especially cringe when people say "had went." The correct usage is gone but people seem to have forgotten that word! Sorry for the rant but it would be an interesting topic. ❤️ 🕉 🙏 💐 💐
Aw, my comment keeps vanishing, thanks for another lovely video.
I just spent some time adding a comment, and it, too, disappeared.🤔
Is anyone else in awe of this man? Rajiv is a peaceful educational moment on TH-cam. ...and a master of domestic masculinity...I've never seen anyone like him before... He's like a gorgeous sexy blend of Mr. Rogers, Lavar Burton's Reading Rainbow, and Martha Stewart...plus more Rajiv...extraordinary. I need to invest more time into personal development. 👍 Thank you Rajiv.
Rajiv, I have said it before and I will say it again: you are delight personified ❤
Tidbits of time really add up. I've studied for major exams while in transit, waiting in the dentist's office or on a coffee break. Before I knew it I'd studied for 150 hours and was ready to write for a major qualification. I've started to carry around a sketch book journal and some pencils. I love this video, such valuable info. Time to stop and think and get creative and make decisions is so important.
I am crocheting a rug out of strips of old clothing while I wait for my daughter's bus. Thank you for validating that experience.
love your videos, man. You have inspired me to do so many things....
Thank you. I was expecting a planner showing how you block out your time each day. But this is better. Don’t pull out the phone when five minutes comes along, just breathe, think, sketch, knit.
You’re a blessed person…spreading your blessings around the world…only bright and care people will value this little moments with you! Keep going Rajiv…wish you the best!
Before retiring, I worked an average of 70 hours a week, but I always found time for 3 things. First was reading. I never, even now, leave the house without a book. I cannot imagine not reading every day. Even if I only had a couple of minutes, I would read. I'd even read whist queuing in the supermarket. I read between 80 and 100 books a year, and when driving to and from work, I'd listen to audio books. Books relax me. The second thing that I always found time for was my journal. I write between 1 and 4 thousand words every day. It helps me to get my life into perspective. The third thing is to spend time with plants. At work and at home, I had houseplants, and at home a small garden. Spending a few minutes daily with my plants keeps me grounded.
These three things, relaxation, keeping things in perspective, and remaining grounded, ensured that my 70 hour working week was possible. However, I had to learn this the hard way - I had a nervous breakdown a few years into my career.
You are such an inspiration! As a single mom of many years, grand mom, full time nurse, plus plus plus .. I encourage myself to get things done by just the simple phrase.. every one thing I do is one less thing to be done later. I may not hit my to do list with 100% perfection anymore. My sad knees won’t let me anymore. But not completing everything I want to do can’t be allowed to cause me such distress that I loose heart. And any encouragement and inspiration to follow my heart and my interests instead of only the obligatory things is always welcome.
Rajiv, you are such a treasure. Thank you for being in my space ❤😊
Can you make a video about what do you carry in your bag wherever you go? I appreciate all your wonderful videos❤️
I was able to do 13:36 of needlepoint while watching this video. I bought this needlepoint kit in Paris many, many years ago and did not start it because I kept thinking when I would have enough time to finish it. But now, whenever I watch something online or listen to a podcast, I take out the kit and work on it. I hope to finish it by the end of the month. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience with us.
Rajiv you’re a born teacher - I’m so glad (and blessed) you’ve found this platform to share your very intentional personal values, philosophies towards living a good life and multiple, hard won talents. Thank you for being you and sharing.
Dear Rajiv,
Well this will have to be one of the chapters in my book of " how Rajiv changed my life."
And I've just seen it 7 months after you made it. I've just found you three weeks ago and you have changed things for me.
And now you're speaking very intelligently about maximizing the time that we have and isn't time the most important thing that we have? This video 🙏
Amazing.
You may have even made me want to start scatching again which I gave up long ago, and sundry other things.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate the way that you think and that you share it with us. But I think I just did.😊
Amazing
I don't think I've ever found a more comforting and peaceful channel than this one.
Very good ideas here, thank you!
I always used to tell my clients, and people, micro-steps create macro-results... it's the slight edge.
I am realizing how often, not just myself but, how many people under estimates the little things they routinely do, and thinks its not a big deal if they even bother to credit the 5 minutes they allowed to read or even commit 5 minutes a day or even just 5 minutes every other day to increase their vocabulary when in reality that time was well used, it really is. I also am realizing how much one can do and eventully accomplish in such a small amount of minutes, the minutes used add up to hours of enhancing your life, your skills, or simply helps one not to be bored waiting. They say time is valuble, it certainly is and how you make use of time can greatly increase the value of your time, even if it sometimes used to rest or meditate to reload or regroup to carry on. I totally respected your video Rajiv, thank you.
Love the idea of working on a project like the hat during specific times in your life (waiting), and then having and using the finished product as an emblem to remind you that little steps add up to great things. It's something we "know" but it's nice to have that physical reminder! 😊👒🧢🎩
It is interesting that I, too, 1) write in a journal, 2) enjoy knitting, 3) like drawing, and 4) I play the piano [decently, yet not expertly]. ✨
Rajiv, man. You just get it. Choosing our distractions well, yields a beautiful life in return.
Cycling. I achieve so much whilst cycling to wherever I need to go. I feel the weather, experience the seasons, observe the animals, feel my heart pump, and carve through congestion.
Truly appreciate this video! It has shed light on what I neglect most; my time! I don’t think I am alone in this.. I feel like in my generation it is very common to be consumed by technology. This was another reminder for myself to do something that I enjoy every day 😊
The musings, drawings and journals of Rajiv…now there would be a best seller. Even a Magnum Opus! Again, you and your approach to life are simply treasured gifts for us all. So glad you created your channel! ❤
I've always tended to take 8h and complete something obsessively. Stopping and starting is hard for me. I'm also a mum of two so if I have 5mins here and there then I'd rather watch a TH-cam video and relax or sleep!
It is true though that you lose skills if you don't practice it consistently so I need to work on this.
And imagine if the hours spent watching TV were channelled into doing something that made more of a difference in one's life? I spent a fair bit of time watching TH-cam videos, but they are usually educational - like this one. Thanks for the reminder to take time for deep breathing, Rajiv!
Beautiful. This is the antidote to the toxic productivity culture that seems to have taken over TH-cam these days.
Rajiv's philosophy of life is such a tonic to the fast-paced internet-driven capitalist structures most of us live in. Slow down, get off your phone, make things with your hands, purchase things made to last, be in the moment... Inspiration for life ✨
I love "deep breathing" as a waiting in line practice - it's very soothing and somehow the line doesn't take as long as you thought it might.
You are this generations Huell Howser and just what we need. ❤ Thank you for existing and being you and for sharing your love of this world with us and making us better people.
Hi, Rajiv, thank you for sharing! I’m amazed and amused: you’re carrying the exact same things like me in my small backpack! Mostly I knit socks, mostly for others, because I’ve a lot, if I’m on the way. People are thinking: oh, she’s retired now, she has the time… but no, I did that long time before during my work time as a jurist, counting the minutes in between, but I enjoy that I’ve MORE time for all that now, including breathing in the right way. For traveling, I’ve a small Gitalele, but as a retiring gift for my husband I’ve found a wonderful travel guitar from Tchechia with a full and warm sound, which you can easily put in pieces. He travels by bike with it, it has a protecting backpack of normal size. Best and most used gift I ever gave him in 51 years. In supermarkets I’ve my little paper calendar with notes about the actual language I’m studying… but just breathing is a wonderful idea, too. And of course I’ve ALWAYS a book with me… some on my mobile, but I prefer paper. Love from Germany, Monika❣
You so elegantly said "get off your d*mn phone" without actually saying get off your d*mn phone 😂 I just love it, thank you so much for these tips!!
Thank you! I’m sure most people are thinking about “ what’s next” instead of “what’s now” ….
Excellent video! Thanks Rajiv
All I can say at this time is that you are a phenomenal person!
Rajiv your philosophy on living is so inspiring to me. Everything in your space has function, purpose and beauty. The care and love with which you handled the bonnet (of a thousand tiny moments) in this video says so much about your relationship to the things around you. Thank so much for sharing your ideas on TH-cam, my life is richer for it. Very best wishes from Cambridge, UK.
Hermes makes refillable sketch books and notebooks in many sizes
I've been thinking we're kindred spirits but it was SOLIDIFIED when you opened with Wildwood Flower.
You did the Carter Family proud with your "Wildwood Flower" performance.
THANK YOU! Means a lot to me to read your words of support about the Carter Family...I want to play like Maybelle so badly...
I have a similar philosophy about constantly learning new things so when I'm at work I wear hearing protection that has bluetooth speakers in them, then I have a youtube playlist with thousands of instructional videos on it.
I wanted to move to a larger home
from my 2200 sq feet home in Seattle, after I found Rajiv and his apartment, decided not to and instead beautify the home I have! Amazingly beautiful apartment u have!!
Oh god thank you for mentioning thinking! I’ve always been a “daydreamer” and some days, the only productive thing that I do is thinking but it is so valuable. Especially as a writer and artist, it allows me to come into new versions of myself.
Always an inspiration! Would also love to see a 'day with Rajiv' video about how you organise your morning yoga/meditation and music practice into your daily routine.
It really feels like this man is some type of angel, manifested into a human body to speak to us freely and lovingly about the true beauty of living a life.
Its always good to be reminded to stop and smell the roses...
Although you have never spoken about your religious/ spiritual beliefs, I feel you may be an earth angel. 😇 💗🫶
I really needed this somehow. Lately I've been feeling empty and lonely inside whenever I have spare time, like on the weekends. I think I need to start some new hobbies and pick up some old ones again. I'm not sure where I was going with this but thanks Rajiv it was a great video
Your values are aligned with mine and it is so refreshing to see. I also commend you on not mentioning social media throughout this entire video.
Your videos are like a meditation. Such beauty and peace and wisdom. 🙏🏼
About a Boy: I find the key is to think of a day as units of time, each unit consisting of no more than thirty minutes. Full hours can be a little bit intimidating and most activities take about half an hour. Taking a bath: one unit, watching countdown: one unit, web-based research: two units, exercising: three units, having my hair carefully disheveled: four units. It's amazing how the day fills up, and I often wonder, to be absolutely honest, if I'd ever have time for a job; how do people cram them in? (Still wish I had more time for all the things I want/need to do.)
Hahahah Wendy! I thought about exactly the same quote 😂
One key point is that time management, though valuable, is not the same thing as productivity. For example, just letting your mind think say in the line at the grocery store, it'll frequently give you a great idea, such has YOU DON"T EVEN NEED TO DO SUCH AND SUCH AT ALL!
Love this movie ❤ (and wish I didn't have to cram in the job either!)
i love this video. i noticed how you didn't use "DON'T" advice. Not once did you say "don't get on your phone", or "don't mindlessly scroll", etc. As a matter of fact, you only talked about a phone once, and that was to describe the guy you sketched. You only used "DO" suggestions/ ideas, "do take your instrument", or "do breathe", etc. I feel more uplifted to make a different choice than condemned for getting on my phone. You're such a breath of fresh air!!!!
You are such a wonderful teacher!! Love your videos!
Such a gem of an advice Rajiv. All activities focused on creating something or simply focusing on breath. In the current world driven by consumption of content, this is indeed a breath of fresh air.
“Stop looking at other people’s thoughts constantly and focus just on what’s going on in your head alone.” Beautiful.
