Ooh that lancia 😍
The Dam Busters diorama is so evocative and it's cool to see the F14s
WoW ! That plane dropping the deapth charge ! What a perfect Idea to stand it up !
I believe that was a dam buster bomb…
No matter what your taste is, these are some great works of art.
I absolutely love the Dambuster……!!!🫡💦
Yes, my first thought. The water splash looked so realistic. What is used for that, cotton wool?
It's amazing how much a the simplest of dioramas can enhance the display of a model. So much talent in that room!
Modellers creativity never ceases to amaze me!
The Dambuster model is just amazing
I had to do a video as a photo didn’t do it justice.
Many thanks for posting this.

So incredible to see such awesome model. Been modeling since age 5 now 77 n still intensely at it.
Love to hear it!
......me too ! Old guys rule, okay !
Been making models since 65, and still a way to go. Loved the air display with the planes flying out the backdrop.
A video like this is cruel, giving a very fleeting taste of something so desirably sweet, a series of mouth watering morsels, just a glimpse and gone, oh to have been there.
It was a fantastic day, this is only a small proportion of the models too!
Sheer ingenuity! A real pleasure to view all this work! Well done, everybody! 👍
Completely agree!
WOW!!!
Every model just incredible. How on earth could anyone Judge this comp? so many perfect scores, the best show Ive seen on YT.
Thank you for watching!
Never went tô Telford unfortunatly. Its one of those bucket list "things" for me.. thank you for this vídeo 🇵🇹👍
Thank you for watching. It’s certainly worth the effort to attend, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
Awesome star wars models in there!
INCREDIBLE , what a huge show, the talent creativity, detailing is off the chart. I've been building models for over 50 years, after watching the skill sets shown in this video, I am going to melt all my models in several winter fires :-) Congratulations to all entries and THANKS for this video.
I completely agree, the talent was off the chart in my opinion, I certainly came away motivated to try and take my modelling to another level! Thanks for watching.

I’m sure I not the first to say …. “wow, wow and another wow” I just LOVE the 617 Squadron Lancaster dropping the bouncing bomb. It’s an ingenious diorama and deserves any and all praise and accolades. Phenomenal.
I agree, it really was stunning, I had to video it as photos didn’t do it Justice!
th-cam.com/video/iOqrxLMxKA0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S1tMZvkGMALMCII4 ❤
Fantastic models. I hope the Lancaster bomber won best in show. So much talent building these dioramas
I think it was last years winner, I maybe wrong. It was on a club table when I saw it. A photo doesn’t do it justice so I had to grab a video
@@smeders Agreed! Motors driving the props or spinning prop effects from scratch. I'm sure they're fully capable of it!
@@smederscould we not say they have been frozen in time like the splash from the bomb. 😊.

Masterpieces ! Here in Belgium we can only dream of such grand scale exhibitions ! Watching it on TH-cam, half speed, is great !
There’s Scale Model Challenge in Eindhoven. I think there is another large model show in the Netherlands too, but I’m not sure what it’s called. Thank you for watching!
A great, busy show, with some truly amazing craftsmanship to be seen.
That historical roundup of Thunderbirds is killer!
Thunderbirds was a staple of my childhood!
@@45degreesmodellingMine too. Second choice after the Dambusters model.
@1:25 This absolutely blew me away!!!
I agree, I think it may have won last year, I’m not 100% sure.
Thanks for this and including my Flower Class corvette @ 4.52.
Ahh brilliant, magnificent work!
Outstanding work! (type 4:52 and TH-cam will link the time)
Esa de Hulk con la torreta está tremenda!!!!!!🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
I agree!
I have always been attracted to many hobbies. I'm 70yrs old and still enjoy this.
It’s the greatest hobby in the world!
My Buccaneer at 1:14 , thanks very much
Brilliant work! There was so many good Buccaneers as well on display with it!
@@45degreesmodelling cheers, yeah we’re the Buccaneer sig, been around for 3 years now, it’s a small group but we always manage to get a nice display going at Telford!
Yesterday was my first trip back to Telford since 2019 and it was a great show. Almost back to it's pre-pandemic best. Yet to hear anything but good words from everyone who was there.
In case you missed it they did open the Competition area at 3.00pm to let us all in for a closer look.
Yes I saw the notice board up saying it would be open about 3ish but I had to leave about half 1 to get home 😢 I think next time I’ll try and arrive a little bit later so I can ensure I see the competition area. I really enjoyed it, I definitely came away wanting to improve my skills!
What a great video ! So much talent. Thank you !
You’re welcome, thank you for watching and commenting!

I enjoyed that mate …. Kept saying “want that” “want that”“want that” ….. I’m in my 60s and it brings back fond memories of me as a young lad glassy eyed at the window of a toy shop. 😊 Cheers Quinny
😂 I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Beeing maki g models since y was 11 now at 71 years old i co ti ue to do so!! Astonishing show and models i wish i could be there!! Thank you for sharing the show!! Greetings from an Argentinian modeler!!😊😊
Thank you! The models were incredible. It’s nice to know my video has gone around the world lol
@@45degreesmodelling You are welcome Sir!!!!
Massively impressed with all the work on display here, thank you for capturing it!
No problem, glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for a great look around show. 😊
No problem, my favourite videos are watching slide shows of model shows for motivation so I thought id return the favour!
I remember building these Tamiya models in the 1970s as a kid and there still exactly the same!
I’ve built a couple of old Tamiya kits from the 70’s and they’re still good quality. The detail and precision on the modern kits is outstanding.
Some great dioramas there, thanks for sharing!
No problem, thanks for watching. My favourite type of video is watching model shows on YT for inspiration so I thought I’d return the favour.
First time at Telford - absolutely fantastic experience - brilliant cheers Liam
Thanks for watching, same for me and I thought it was fantastic!
That was all amazing!
I completely agree, this was only a small percentage of what was on show as well!
Great Vid
Damn... I'm blown away by peoples modeling skills...!! Wow man...Wow...!! ❤👍👍
Me too, the work was incredible!

Brilliant video I was there and there were so many amazing models and modellers.
I’m just gutted I didn’t see the competition area, I had to leave before it opened to the public unfortunately.
1:27 - Dambusters all the way!
Aerobatic Display Teams SIG display stand at 1:15 Winners of both the Airfix Trophy for the Best Display Of The Show *and also* the IPMS(UK) Best SIG Display Award. 😀
It’s fantastic! Thoroughly deserved!
I could not get to the show this year, but this great video, made up For it

Really cool model show. 👍

Been making kits and collecting Airfix figures since the early 70's as a youngster. Certainly beats anything I could produce. Last went to the IPMS show when it was based in Castle Donington at the race track. Looks like I need to pay a visit to Telford!
I highly recommend a visit, the models on shoe was phenomenal and this just a small amount.
Being honest i know nothing about models apart from airfix kits as a kid and all i can say about these is...Wow, Wow and WOW...
These dioramas are outstanding! I am doing cars but maybe I will dare to make one one day! Thanks for sharing! :)
Thank you for watching, I just want to build everything 😂
I'm not a model maker or by any means knowledgeable about these but the dam busters model at 1:26 was absoluely amazing
It was incredible, that’s why I took a video, a photo didn’t do it justice!
Great tour 👌
Glad you enjoyed it!
Things have certainly moved on since my efforts of 60 years ago with airfix kits when it was a bonus if the moving parts actually moved and you could see through the windows due to far too much glue being used ! I expect I would make a similar job with these wonderful models
We live in the golden age of modelling! The talent on show is incredible.
You ain't lying about that glue. I almost became one with the model a couple of times. 😂
th-cam.com/video/iOqrxLMxKA0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S1tMZvkGMALMCII4 ❤
Great looking builds!! 🤜🤛
I completely agree!
@@45degreesmodelling 👍
Looks like the hobby is in good hands.
Absolutely!
The 617 Lancaster was great.
I had to take a video to try and justify how great it was. A photo wouldn’t have done it justice!
@@45degreesmodelling It is appreciated. Ex 80’s 617 ground crew and just amazed at every aspect of their missions back then.
gutted i didnt know this was on !!
It’s on at the same time next year, the next one I’ll prob go to is Bolton in January if it’s on, I haven’t checked.
Time stamp 125, A-6 Intruder.
3.05 are my bandai star wars models. I had great fun at the show
Thank you for sharing them! Fantastic work. Yeah I had a great day!
Круто!👍 Хотелось бы побывать на таком мероприятии.
It’s certainly worth trying to!
12:17 amazing ship
excellent film!
Thank you!
Good one sir. Dioramas are my favourite 😊
Mine too, there was some incredible work on display.
Great stuff - particularly liked the Mulberry harbour models.
And for a moment I thought there wasn't going to be a model of a PzIV in front of a ruined wall - but there it was at the end!
Yeah the Mulberry harbour was a magnificent piece of work.
Amazing models and some amazing people who build them, just blows your mind how they come up with some of the dioramas, i missed it this year due to working, but was disappointed with it last year, and not happy you have to buy tickets online yet still need to queue up to get in, and see the price has gone up again, but one would need a big fat wallet to but all the goodies you want and be able to live till we are three hundred to be able to build them all, great video BTW
Yeah I spoke to a couple of people and they were lovely and happy to share their build process etc. This was my first time and I was pretty impressed, but I suppose the price reflects the current state of the U.K. economy…. But don’t get me started on finances, yesterday broke my wallet lol. The queue moved pretty fast to be honest, I was there at 10:00 and from starting outside I was in the hall within 5-10 mins. Thanks for watching.
@@45degreesmodelling A fantastic show but I was also put off going because I found you had to book on line. A friend going for the first time told me about that, glad I did not make a trip there for nothing.
Magnificent display of amazing skill. I was a member of the IPMS for some thirty years, and thoroughly enjoyed the shows..
One year, on Remembrance Sunday, I stood shoulder to shoulder with a German visitor during the two-minute silence. Looking around the room, I saw table after table of guns, tanks, warships, bombers, fighters, infantry and cavalry, and even fictitious warriors. It occurred to me that we spent two minutes honouring the dead, out of two days worshipping the machinery that killed them. From that day onward, I never made a military model, except for non-combatant vehicles that had been re-purposed for civilian use.
Discounting competition cars, (which by definition involve a degree of conflict), and multiple shots of the DeLorean, the massive collection of subjects featured here included fewer than a dozen civilian items. I find the situation very disappointing.
I can understand your feelings. I listened to a podcast once that has this very discussion. There was a large real space stand which I didn’t photo unfortunately as my battery went and also plenty of civilian aircraft, plus multiple car and bike interest groups, but yea the majority was military influenced.
There are all missing a trick and dont know it,agree whole heartedly, if it aint got a weapon of destruction on it,its not worth it,oh wait, hurry up and wait.
So the old adage goes 😂😂
How on earth do judges make a decision? So many fantastic efforts. And the sad thing is in time all the WWII stuff won't be so relevant as older modellers go to the great exhibition in the sky.
The work on display was incredible. I think they’ll still be an appetite for WW2 models. WW1 subjects are still popular.
looked amazing i only wish i could of attended.
I had a great day and came away very inspired!
In case anyone cares, that’s Captain Scarlet’s red car. 3:42
I love Captain Scarlet!
Amazing!!!! but no Godzilla
As an airliner modeller a bit of a lack of them at this show as it seems this is mainly military plus Sci-Fi...The Swiss Airbus is very good though...Far exceeds my efforts but I build for the enjoyment 😁
I did include one, I’m sure it was on a special interests group table, but they were few and far between.
This is Amazing. I would like to visit. I'm in London.
It’s certainly worth the visit. It’s on the same time next year.
@@45degreesmodelling where do I visit?
I saw my harrier t.4n 1:38
On the runway? I loved that!
At 4:52, I have that model and it pretty much looks exactly like the one in the video, but it is not my model
I could spend a week in that room.
It was overwhelming at points there was so much to look at!
Love the models …but that “music”…👀…it’s ok I turned the sound Off !
I understand 😂
Me to ... found it irritating
Me too.

I loved the shadow on the tank and the Centaur was just 😚 👌
When a soldier drinking coffee looks better when he's smaller.
Wish we had hobby shows like this in USA, besides our IPMS Nationals every year, most other shows really stink with low attendance, high table price, lack of customers buying and vendors not making any money. Wish I could move to Spain or Italy and pursue my Custom Dioramics business in the EU. I am sure I will make a ton more money than in the USA.
You only live once mate! I always assumed the states were good for shows? I’ve heard of AMPS as well after listening to the Plastic Model Mojo podcast and Heritage Con in Ontario across the border.
Ipms needs to go bye bye!🤔
Jman
More plastique than you can shake a stick at!🤣
Jman
Really surprised you don’t have shows because you seem to have allot of great stuff we can’t get over here unless we get it shipped over
If that's all your interested in,making money, jog on son,and sort the us postage and tax out,it costs 4 times the amount to buy a kit from over the pond.
Shame that the us are missing out out on a very lucrative market.
Good luck with that.😢

Great shots, had to put the music on mute.
Thank you, I understand 😂
That music.
What's the 'tune' you're using for this video?
I collect music for my daily bus trips! This sounds like a good one to pass the time with!
Thanking you in advance!
It’s called Paradise by Ikson!
@@45degreesmodelling I just found it!
Thank you! Very very much! I intend to add this 'tune' to my daily commute soundtrack!
Did they have any models from the original Battlestar Galactica?
I couldn’t tell you sorry.
Never been to one of these but am curious whether a lot of the same models get shown every year or do they try and mix it up with recently built ones?
I’m not sure but I did recognise a couple of models that I saw at the Bolton Model Show back in January. I guess it depends which IPMS chapters attend.
Not a great place to meet the ladies then :)
great video. just push mute and enjoy
Is Jim Borman still building ? He use build 1/700
Sorry i missed it,maybe next year
It was my first time at Telford, I’ve been to local model shows but not the national one, It’s motivated me to up my building!

Did you have permission to pick up that Merkava at @9:20? edit: never mind, owners hand, still gave me a conniption.
I should have stipulated it wasn’t me 😂
Dear Santa…
😂
How many days was the show?
Two days; Sat & Sun, 10:00 till 1600 with IPMS members being able to get in an hour early I believe.

Not sure on the exact date but it should be around October time.

Theres always next year. I think there is a model show in Bristol coming up at the end of November or Bolton in January depending on your location.
Scale ModelWorld has been held in the same place, at the same time, for 25 years. It's always advertised in the modelling press and social media too. Put a note in your diary for 9th & 10th November 2024 🙂
