Welcome back sis! I hope you can upload a bit more frequently, like 1 lecture per 2 months. But I do not want to ignore your struggles in life and demand something impossible. Today's tutorial was excellent. I understood everything. I always playback and pause to go over the lecture. Your explanation is as good as always.

You misunderstood what is an infinitive. Kataba is not an infinitive, but a verbe conjugated, it's a sample. Problem of vocabulary, concept and translations. The infinitive concept means "to gather a class of a specifique action", in arabic and european languages. The masdar could be named "an infinitive noun". If you want a parallele with european languages, the infinitive will be the root, like كبب and not كَتَبَ. In english, the mark of the infinitive it's adding "to", in french it's to suffix the morphem -er or -ir (and some irregular forms). But arabic has another way to express an infinitive: the masdar. Then a same root has specific pattern to express all nuances of an action, means each masdar pattern is a different meaning, nuances. In french we have different affixes to express a masdar, exemple the verbal infinitive Compt-er (to count), the nominal infinitive "le Compt-age" (the counting). So, you see in english we can create nominal infinitive adding the morphem -ing to a verb. Studying semitic languages, I came to believe that the primarely infinitif, the main one, it's on the pattern فُعْل and I can explain it semantically.
