@@liams4728 True, but it isn't played very much these days. Incidentally, it's the only CD single I ever bought, because we'd just got our first CD player in March 1992. But after that I realised it made more sense to buy albums.
Just stop it with the stupid "under rated" comments when you're talking about a massive well known internationally successful single. Nobody EVER under rated this-it was no 1 in the UK along with being number 1 in multiple other countries, and got to number 4 in USA. It was certified gold in many countries. It won the 1993 Brit Award for best video. It wasn't under rated or overlooked, it was their biggest hit.

Marcella’s voice is so angelic as she takes this song to heavenly heights, but it’s Siobhan’s rasp and sassy that keep this song on loop for me. Love it! Both ladies are awesome!
Marcella voice is amazing in this she's an amazing singer.
Considering that Marcella was drunk when recording the video. I think it was Marcella because I watched an interview once where one said that the other was drinking before the shoot and by the time of starting the shoot she was absolutely plastered. The director kept it in the video because it made different to the usual sappy videos around the time.

Fun fact - The shoot for this video took way longer than expected, and everybody was getting bored, so Siobhan (the second female performer) went for a wander within the town, found a bar and got absolutely smashed on vodka. When she showed up to do her part she could barely stand up, but they went with it and the result was brilliantly and hilariously over the top.

Siobhan was very drunk on vodka when she filmed this-they only had one day to film, and most of it was taken up with filming Marcella's part, so Siobhan sat around drinking all day-she filmed her bit at 8pm

I was immediately delighted, and for many years I could not find an extended version of the song. The effort paid off in 2023.

One of my favorites from them. Also loved "Hello/Turn Your Radio On, I Don't Care, Moonchild, Heaven is in Your Arms, etc" - Here in the States; I remember people being shocked by Siobhan's powerful unique entrance changing this somber, ethereal ballad into a sultry gloomy alternative rock number and most of the kids at school thinking how bizarre I was for being a fan, and then the song became popular, but I remained a loyal fan to all of the band's songs. Great memories and will always love their music they made together, as well as their solo catalogues.
The single version of Hello (Turn Your Radio On) is the best David Bowie song he didn't write...amazing!

I was a full on thrash/death metal fan from 83 til today and pretty much paid of the musical talent of many other artists. I appreciate this song more today. Especially small parts of the video like Siobhan's facial expressions and the eye roll at the end. Marcella's voice is on point. Took me some time (30+ years) but that's what good about music. It doesn't disappear.

1:57 - Apparently it was a one day shot and took a lot longer than expected. Siobhan Fahey, bored stiff while waiting for them to get to her part, decided to liven things up by opening a bottle of vodka. By the time they actually got round to having her on set, she had finished the entire bottle which contributes to her "animated" performance in the final product. 🙂(I don`t know about you, guys, but I`m glad she did...)
*This song reached all the way to number one in UK Top 100 and has held the record for the longest time spent at the top. Not even the Spice Girls could dethrone Shakespears Sister. Awesome ladies! Very well done! 😍

One of the greatest ballads EVER written. As beautiful as it is haunting. It's as perfect as song as you'll ever get. It's also one of the very few songs I've listened to that brings a tear to my eye every time I listen to it. A masterpiece.

Remember this song from back in the days of PC format magazine when it came with floppy disks full of demos. One of them in particular being crystal caves. Also was the time when my foster mums sister was in hospital dieing of cancer. Always liked her despite her being an excessive chain smoker.

I always really loved this clip. It tells a real story and the drama of it and the space theme is brilliant. This remaster looks amazing. This song was wildly popular here in Australia and I still love it. They had so much fun in their videos.

I bought the cassette single back when this song came out. Growing up, I didn't have cable TV so I never saw the video until just recently. Marcella's voice is so caring and you can hear the care in her voice. The high note she hits is epic. Siobhan's entry into the video couldn't have been done any better. I understand that she got bored during the shoot for the video and passed the time with a few drinks. Inebriated or not, her facial expressions were haunting, terrifying, and beautiful, all at the same time. She owned that part and should've gotten an OSCAR for her performance. When you have two talented artists, you need a production crew who can skillfully capture and edit the video. I'm not sure I would've liked to have been on set because the final result is amazing. Great job all around.

Great song and video, an amazing low-key final remnant of late 80's / early 90's supernatural fantasy/horror storytelling. It sets your imagination running into realms akin to Labyrinth, Neverending Story, Hellraiser, even Beetlejuice. A magical time of filmmaking.
