I am in awe at how well you painted those badges. No way I could do that.

Nice work on the paint and clear coat. I always put one drop of Dawn in my warm decal water. I also use the warmest water I can get from the tap. It works really well for decals. Then I use Solvaset, or Mark Fit to set me decals. Since I started doing this I have had no problems with my decals. Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate that David. It’s just something with me and the black racing stripes. They always get me. Well stripes all together 🤣🤣🤣

A drop or two of Dawn will keep the decals slick and make it easier to position. Good job on the paint and clearcoat!

I put small piece of tap over emblems and small detail some don't sand them off

for those raised SS badges try this some time. put some silver paint like maybe vallejo model air silver on some tape. take a brand new flat pencil eraser and dip in the paint. tap it once to a paper tower to remove excess then carefully press against the ss badge just enough for the flat eraser to hit the badge, not hard enough to go all the way to the body. Comes out cleaner. excess vallejo can be cleaned up with water. as long as you let it fully dry and are easy on the first coat of clear it shouldn't run.

May be a stupid question, but it wouldn’t be my first. Have you ever tried putting Dawn dishwashng liquid in your hot decal water? I think it helps to br able to slide them around for a longer time. How much depends on how much water you use. I try to add 3 or 4 drops. Just put your finger and thumb in the water to make sure it kinda slippery.

Great question! I've actually started using the Dawn in hot water water this build. It has done wonders for me applying the decals.

I just found out the hard about the lights..I painted the car and know had to the excto knife out to
get the grill to fit. Lesson learned!!!

It’s my second time building the kit. That was the only way I knew. The first time the lights drove me crazy.

Gorgeous car to replicate! A trick I picked up from Kreg @KREG’S KORNER is to use those add on eraser tips that come to a point, put chrome paint on there and then dab the eraser tip over the emblems. It works awesome.
