I am completely following along... First i have no leave color effect second.. I have selected in hue and saturation in the lumetri color and when u drag lines down to desaturate everything but what was picked.. Nothing happens.

I haven’t tried it out, but based on the video and applying logic, I would use the Saturation Curves and select every color you want to keep, and desaturate the rest by dragging down the curves. Hope this helps?

What if the color you select has the same color in other areas of the video, however you do not want the same colors in other areas of the video to show?

You could use a mask for the Part you want to do those changes! Everything Else should remain Black and white then.

This is a little helpful, but what do you do when there are other objects of the same color that you DON'T want to appear in color? Specifically, I am trying to make a video where one person in a crowd is in color (not just the clothes, but the entire person). Obviously the skin tones will repeat on other people, and it's possible her clothing might even share colors with other people in the crowd or objects in the scene, but I ONLY want her in color and nothing else. EDIT: Basically, I want to make my video like the thumbnail of this video.

@@neilisalive4892 Okay, how would I do that? Particularly, how would I do that in either Lightworks or FilmForth, since those the only editing software I have access to. (I'm just glad there ARE computer programs to do these things rather than doing it by hand; with the nerve damage and tremors in my hands, they are nowhere near steady enough to try to trace the outline of a person in a crowd or anything like that, and CERTAINLY not to do it over and over in every frame!)

1. You can mask the other objects if there is no overlap
2. You could do rotoscoping using After effects
