It works because it’s a mixture of truth and error. As the treasury agent knows the touch and feel of real money, so we must know the feel and touch of Scripture. It’s knowing the truth under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

In New Thought, the power resides in you, not in Jesus. So you don’t have to wait on Jesus. You take the reins of your life into your own hands.

All effective lies have an element of truth. Humans are the image of God, and He values us enough to go to the cross ( divine spark?)
The manifestation distortion is basically witchcraft, but negative attitudes and speech can invite darkness.
It goes on. Thanks for your book.

I really wish that someone would examine AA in detail.

Bingo! A blade of grass is as much 'god' as Jesus. Just to get things off to a start.

I'm not all the way through this, but I don't know why any established Christian would be taken in by this stuff. If you're a teenager and/or just got saved, I can see some confusion for a while. But Christians who have been in church for decades, have more Bibles on their shelves than they can use, have all the books and podcasts and conferences they could want, how can alarm bells not go off instantly? That's mind boggling to me. I am no spiritual giant. I am not intellectually brilliant. I am no theologian. But the second I hear stuff about affirmations, positive thinking, manifesting and all the rest, the alarms are blaring. Oprah mainstreamed this stuff way back in the 80s!

It’s starts as in the already deeply held belief that we can buy our miracles and blessings through ‘tithing’. That already holds the idea that Jesus is a Genie. It’s pretty easy to convince people from there

Point one: don’t know what an “established Christian” is, but I have observed people who have spent decades going to church and who have multiple Bibles (many have never been cracked open or without notes), who don’t have a solid understanding of basic Christian doctrine. Many, maybe even most, churches give topical sermons with some scripture thrown in that may not be in context with the Word. I happen to attend a church that teaches the Bible verse by verse and book by book, Genesis through Revelation. Today, too many people rely on social media podcasts to form their own theology based on whatever makes them feel good. The messages are very subtle and can easily mislead if you don’t know what the real Word says. That’s how the enemy works!

“Clear thinking” and Christianity is an oxymoron.
“The first priest was the first rogue who met the first fool.”

In looking for a solution, we must not forget Jesus’ Parable of the Weeds (or takes). Matthew 13:24-30.

We must who is really behind it-the one whom Jesus called the father of lies, whose native language is lies.
