This is my first time listen and reaction to Answer by Tyler, the Creator (from a Rocker's perspective). Enjoy!
The reason why his grandma wont answer and she is “nostalgia” is that his grandma, unfortunately, passed away, and he talks about it on the last track of the album Lone.
Thank you for this. Lone is on my list. I look forward to it even more.
@@bobthepoppop yeah he grew up his later teen years living with his gma while his mom was having problems and in a shelter. He made his first mixtape Bastard at his gmas
The Clancy's are Tyler's Managers, they also manage the Boyband Brockhampton
Ah, more tie-in for Brockhampton. Well done. That puts them onto my radar a little more.
"I'd like to call my grandma but she's just nostalgia", is a line about his grandma passing and there is a song about that on this album, track name Lone, one of my personal favourites on the album.
Domo roll anotha roll one
@@largebankroll im j f*kin witchu i ain smokin none
The thing about absent fathers, at least from my experience as a black man is that yeah, there’s a lot of anger when a father never was there or especially leaves the kid-but for me and a lot of kids I knew there’s constantly this yearning for him to be there amidst all the anger at the guy for abandoning you. Especially at a young age when you haven’t really gotten over it. Sometimes you’re a grown man showing anger for another grown man that failed at being one, and sometimes you’re still 11 years old waiting on dad to come home. And the grandma line she passed away, so she only exists as memories. I lost my grandma the same year this song came out so that one kinda gave me goosebumps fr.
"sometimes you're a grown man showing anger for another grown man that failed at being one, and sometimes you're still 11 years old waiting on dad to come home." That shit fucking hit.
Tyler’s grandma passed that why he said “but she won’t answer”
Ahhh... good to know, though sad. Thank you for clarifying that for me. Poor, Tyler man... dude has dealt with some stuff.
key and peele reference was funny asl😂
One of my all-time favorite skits
I said biiiiiiitch
Intro got me dead 😭😭😭
5:15 is perfect cause at the end of his song “bastard” (first track off the bastard album) he ends it with “i just want my fathers email so i can tell him how much i fucking hate him in detail”
The pain of not seeing ur parents until after ur grown up. You almost don’t wanna see them at all. But also deep down want to. Cuz deep down u always crave that parent child relationship you never got.
The looking around in the beginning got me dying 🤣
That Key and Peele reference made my day. I thought you were going there for a split second, and I was not dissapointed.
The intro was great! 😂 I’m glad I subscribed
He was kind of crying in the video, so my guess in terms of his father is a hope of some form of reconciliation. I think this was the first glance of a deeper, more emotional side to Tyler that we got more of later in his career.
Sorry saying this now cuz u made this comment 3 years ago but he’s over his dad, in his own words stoked that he didn’t know him. He says he probably would’ve been working something like an office job if he hadn’t left, which makes sense knowing it was the main reason for Tyler’s popularity if you pay attention to his older career.
I love the skit reference intro
I cant help but laugh when you do. Im glad somebody else finds tyler funny like i do
keeping with the dad theme you should listen to bastard, seven, and inglorious. Bastard the album in general
i watched this when it came out and now im going back and enjoying good times
Great fucking videos man, can’t wait for more!!! You’re gonna blow up for sure just keep at it
No lie, I legitimately just came here from a Key and Peele skit!! 😅 That's wild!
Ha! That's awesome!
You should definitely give frank ocean a listen!!
Key and Peele skit reference lmao nice
Clancy is his manager.
I had been a fan but the key and peels reference made me sub 😭
The key and peele reference in the beginning. I feel amazing recognizing it.
Colossus is really good
In my interpretation, he really hope his father answer if he ever needed him someday
is the beginning a reference to key & peele LOLLLL
just seen another comment confirming it lol that was good
Bob you should react to Sundress - A$AP Rocky!
That intro 😭😭
Clancy is Tyler’s manager
Please react to DTA-Casey veggies ft. Tyler, produced by Tyler
Great video man, Clancy is Tyler’s manager btw
Thank you for sharing!
the key and peele reference made me die haha
the beginning 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
clancy is tyler’s manager but he acts as a father figure for tyler in his whole career and that’s who tyler considers as his "father"
Yo have you listen to the alternative intro its really good
You said what??? 🤯😳
charl
listen to colossus
Your wife is missing out
haha, I told her... she mumbled something about putting it on her Christmas list
The full-on rap songs are as much of a song as any rock song.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He what?
