I used to visit Charlie at least once a year at the mall and always thought it was sad that he was in such a small tank. Glad you guys are taking him and giving him a proper sized tank.
17 years in that goldfish bowl. Poor guy, I'm so glad he's going to a better life. Happy retirement Charlie

Just shows how much of a nice person you are big rich when you took the time to go and speak to the people there and have photos taken and can't wait to see Charlie in his new tank

I'm 49 years old. Grew up in Flint. When i was a kid that tank was in Eastland mall (now courtland center). It had a large arowana and a couple other fish. I dont' know when they moved it, i think the 90s, but the arowana moved with it. It must have died or somebody took it. I'm glad to see it being delt with. It's a pretty big tank, but not nearly big enough for those guys. You guys are cool.

Well as you can see it’s a fish that we had in my town. Growing up we use to go to that mall and see Charlie weekly. He’s known as the dort mall pacu.
I forget how much PR is required of these higher profile (?) rescues. Rich is the perfect ambassador. Good luck, Charlie. You are in good hands now and lots of people care about you.

I think the plants will take up as much nitrates if you cut the lights by a few hours - but they will then get much darker green.

no we only had a friend that is a rn that just happened to have that day off and offered to sit with tracy while we did the rescue. we still have not got a nurse for tracy but working on it

A lot of Malls look abandoned right now Rich, all over the country. This Covid thing is and has been devastating to the whole country. Some worse than others. It was so special that some of your fans came to see you!! I wish I had known you were at the Bellagio when you came to get the tanks there, I live in Vegas. You need to feed Josh some more food!! He’s too thin!! He works his heart out and it shows! He’s also strong as an ox! Lifting those fish out of the aquariums and tanks.....wow! You would think as often as they are moved, they would just swim into the nets and you wouldn’t have to chase them around! Hahahahaha stay safe out there guys! ❤️❤️❤️

The young lady interviewing and doing a story not knowing anything bout ofr or fish stuff will be nice chance to introduce true fish love to a whole nother group of young folk that need other interests i think. Great group of people there, you guys are the best.

This was actually my girlfriends fish and they gave it to the dort mall when he was alot smaller when the mall was actually vibrant with people it alway made us sad seeing him in that tiny tank so big glad you saved him we heard when he was leaving however i just found this video🤜🤛

Was Charlie at the Dort Mall most of his life? I remember seeing him at the Dort mall but I seem to remember someone saying he was at Genesee Valley before that. Or maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about.

Oh and one more thing Rich, or maybe anyone else can answer, what happened to the arapaima Bruiser? I remember they tried placing him in the 58,000 but Brutus wasn’t having it.. where did Bruiser go?
Everything was fine as it became night but during the very early morning, Brutus harassed Bruiser. He was put back in the pool pond in physically good shape but did not overcome the stress/trauma. Big Rich mentioned this in the middle of a video some time back. It's a painful topic. Odin the one eyed PIMA has since been upgraded to the pool pond wth the large stingrays and is thriving.

omg that would of been awesome, is michigan tropicals anywhere near you, they are coming here for a visit and could bring them, i did announce that we were coming but i forget not everyone uses facebook , ill start announcing any trips in the videos: )
