to soften the bristles put the brush in hot water for like 10 minutes

For those commenting that their hair is "too thick", Brittany Swoope is only gelling the edges of her hair. If you part your hair in rows and apply gel to the roots in each row as well as your perimeter, you will be able to make it slick and put it in a smooth ponytail no matter how thick it is.

in the beginning I would have never thought it would all fit in the pony tail and be so smooth.....I love up do s but everyone be careful not to have it too tight where it pulls your hair out around front edges............smile
Chevy Williams hey girl my edges aren't pulling, the wrap just held it and molded it so that it looks smooth. My edges weren't all in the ponytail.

Suggestions: Don't use rubber bands they rip your hair when you take out the ponytail.

I use knee high tights and cut them into strips to tie my hair up like she did. Rubber bands cuts into your hair and causes breakage.
I don't mind using rubber bands i just cut them out or pop them and I have no breakage

Nice Job... I use The Same Gel... But I Also use Shea Moisture leave in conditioner \With Jamaican Black castor oil, That way it will stay And My Hair is Super thick and I wrap my scarf Around my head leave that on for About and Hr..and its done I can even use water to curl my hair..

What is your hair type? Eco Styler doesn't do much for 4c I think
Tee O It does for me and I know for a fact that I'm a 4c kinda girl. So I guess it depends on your individual hair pattern and texture.
Tee O I have 4c hair and that eco styler gel works for me. use a spray bottle of warm water with lots of gel brush the gel through your hair evenly and then immediately tie down with a silk scarf..not a cotton scarf.. let it set for 15 minutes while you do your make up..

FYI if anyone doesn't want waves in your hair when u do this don't use water or s wave brush. There r brushes made for slicking hair back. You can find em at a sallys and even Walmart but if the waves r fine to u then ignore this lol

hey yall ! this video is so helpful but for the people who have thicker hair the best thing to do is to flat iron your hair or maybe do a braid out method whatever stretches your hair then go ahead and apply whatever it is that you apply to sleek it after you'll be good to go

@@ieshahedgepeth1033 wet your hair and brush them out in sections, flip your head downwards, then proceed to grab it, while brushing of course, and use the ponytail (barrette) I think, and it should work out fine. 😃
