I was injured when I was 26 years old and declared totally disabled. I had 4 young kids. I was an active person and didn't let it stop me. I learned to do things differently. I'm in my mid 70's and in Jan. had my 10th back surgery. I still do as much as I can and yes, I do push myself. I'm young at heart. I hunt, fish, garden, and other things. I may not do it like I used to, but I don't let it get me down. Don't give up on your dreams, you'll find your way to do what you want and everything will be find and you'll have a happy life.
I will be 88 this month. I am grappling with the same problems…I can’t do what I think I can. And everything I do takes longer than I expected. But I am very blessed because I can still serve others. I had my planned life interrupted at a very young adult age and the Lord redirected me for which I am forever grateful! That could happen with you.
17 years ago a doctor said I would be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life in five years. I'm not there yet. The last 3 years I have used a walker to get around. I was in a wheelchair for 3 weeks I have refused to give up. It all started with a head on collision on my way to work. God has been so good.
I fell a month before you. I broke 5 vertebrae in my back. Also discovered severe osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. I was 59. Just turned 60. Always active. Not so much now but I garden, raise chickens, etc. It takes me longer to do things. Keep going!
I am so going to miss your amazing Alaskan adventures especially the ones with your whole family Joas. Your boys have also turned out fabulous videos. 😢❤
@@kooskoolyes sad for the animals but they do use it for food and not for sport. How did our forefathers do for food? Also, that is allowed by animal control departments which season they are allowed to hunt. If there is no hunting, the animals would be to many for food and the animals would be running wild and coming into towns looking for food. It would be dangerous for the people and the animals.
Hey Joas, I really feel for you with your sore feet, but so glad you’re still able to get out there and do some hunting! Thanks for taking us along with you, such an amazing wilderness to share with us. Coffee with a view, I would be appreciative for that too!! God bless you and your amazing family.
Joas you amazed me, you are a warrior and don’t let anything put you down. You are a fighter and a dreamer and a man of faith and you have been blessed, keep on going forward with that beautiful family you got, always enjoy watching anything you post is very inspirational and thank you for sharing your thoughts!!
Thank You for your time you used to make this awesome vlog for us to enjoy! Good to hear you say you used the time away to spend in the presence of God. Blessings! 💜✝️
Wow, Joas, what a beautiful beginning! Alaska’s beauty leaves one speechless. My husband and I went there in 2007 on our trip of a lifetime! I can picture the bears with their noses in the air wondering who’s cooking dinner!! Pushing through is okay, but take time, too, to doctor your feet. You were so thoughtful and philosophical in the video……quiet time to think, and realize how truly blessed you are. My husband got his moose in 1969 in Ontario. 1200 #, and we ate it for 2 1/2 yrs!! He brought his moose call home that was made from tree bark by his Indian guide. Congrats on your black bear. Those brown bear tracks are massive! Whatever would you do if you had to carry all that meat out through all of that difficult landscape? Sorry you didn’t get your moose….but there is always next year! You made wonderful memories, for sure! God is good! Love from Pennsylvania 💕🌷🐻
I had a stroke that left my partially paralyzed way before I was ready to let go of the activities I love. What I have learned is that when we pray "not my will, Father" we have no understanding of what that can look like. Every time I catch myself wishing for things to ease up I have to çhange my thoughts to thanking the Lord He did not send me on this trail on my own, but He holds me close every step of the way. It's been just over 5 years and God has been SO faithful!❤
Joas, it will always be with you. I broke my heels in Dec or 2019. I still hurt with every step. I am also still running, hiking, traveling, and doing everything I did before. The only thing is now I look at the pain as God's reminder that I'm still alive at his grace. I now appreciate my travels far more with that frame of mind. I you need any moral support, please reach out
Yes the battle is in the mind and I love how you think about lifting yourself up in the Lord instead of going down to the enemy!!! What a wonderful experience and you have to be tough to endure those kinds of extremes!!!
Joas you’re correct about the 3 b’s, I’m a lot older than you and have been blessed to harvest a moose in my day. Nothing like an Alaskan moose but a moose is a moose. Been a dream of mine to hunt a Yukon/ Alaskan moose but the 35k USA dollars seems to get in the way all the time or more. Maybe i can hunt in my next life and the moose will be 70” wide and beautiful! I graduated high school the year you were born and things sure don’t get easier the older you get so do it now as later you may not be able to. Take care of those feet please you only have 2 of them.
Great video! I actually spent some time in the same place last year! I made the same mistake with boots. Except my waders leaked and I was wearing Crocs! Lol Unbelievable location. One of my all time favorites. It was nice to show your video to my children to add more to the photos I brought back. It was a pleasure watching your adventure. Thank you for sharing!
I was born with a heart problem due to that I had two strokes open heart surgery I haven't let it stop me I don't think about it I'm thankful that God got me through it miraculously I also did break my feet falling down the steps at my new home in a wheelchair for a year I didn't let that stop me I have a greater God I healed miraculously after surgery I go and go and go I'm very thankful and I'm 70 years old life is too precious
Prayers are powerful! I’ve prayed everyday for relief of back pain. In accident in 2010, this is the first year I’ve been able to do many things! My family drove to Montana last week for our granddaughters wedding! What a blessing The Lord heard my prayers knowing the things that were planned ahead of our accident! I’m ready for Jesus’s return then there will be no more pain and sorrow! ❤❤ Loved the video! Thank you for sharing!
Great job on that moose and the bear hunt, don't ever give up on them dreams, sometimes you have to just change the way you attack the problem of pain and not being able to just do it like before,as for me personally I just take more time to do something that I really love to do,I certainly do stop and smell the roses alot more than before, just keeping the right attitude is half the battle,God bless you and your family Joas
Joas keep fellowing your dreams... keep on moving God is good don't gave up....for sure thought you'll get a moose...next time 😊 your cousin Eli and you made a lot of miles 😮 with the way your feet hurt you did great 👍 👌 thank you for sharing your experience out there in the wilderness and the amazing beautiful views ❤️ God's blessings for a great weekend
Joas, thank you for being so open and honest with your current medical/mental situation. I don’t know what God has in store for you. I am a health care worker and there are incredible new treatment modalities for pain that are not mind altering. Years ago I broke two vertebrae in my back (lumbar area). I went on to break the same arm twice, a couple of years apart. I could go on and on about multiple fractures. I prayed about my situation and it led me to try a new medication that I had to inject for 22 months. That was over 20 years ago. I have only broken a toe in the intervening years. I will always thank God for his guidance with this. I want to encourage you to seek options. Pain is no joke and can be mentally debilitating. I will continue to pray for you, your family and your health. Congratulations on the hunt!
What an amazing hunt (expect for no moose, but as always you made the most of it)! I am kind of glad you aren't using the A I song generation so much. It was cool at first, then got kind of hokey. Glad you didn't damage your heels again and am amazed at how you push through. The friendship between you and your cousin is obvious, glad you got to enjoy the hunt together. What a cool bush fly-in. Thanks for continuing to share.
🌄⛺️Your cousin Eli decided you were the best at putting together the meals👍His soft smile, work ethic and commentary really contributed to this vlog. You can almost be around the same age? He made you a cup of java when you were looking very cold🥶😊☕️
I enjoyed the scenery here very much. I'm in awe of your hunting and camping. It looks like a lot of fun but I don't think I could do it. LOL God bless you.

Wow you have c accomplished much, when you look back and think about your accident.Always remember in life you are we’re God wants you to be. So amazed at what you were doing on your trip. Thanks for taking us along, really enjoyed the video.👍
Joas, can't you get a moose on your property? Safe travels 🙏🏻 💕 You walk with Christ, and that brings me joy. God bless you all and many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi, in Scottsdale AZ 🙏🏻 & E Minister. Thank you for giving the most wonderful videos I've ever seen. Your beautiful wife's videos as well. 🙏🏻& your children. Oh my. You're incredible ❤❤❤
My guy and I use to go moose hunting. We'd go up towards Lake Louise, Glennallen area, or Chicken area. We'd set up camp, take the 4 wheeler, ride long distances, and glass. We saw lots of moose but they had to have the right amount of brow tines. It was so much fun. We were in our early sixties then too. You two really roughed it making it harder on yourselves. There are so many areas you can drive to and then 4 wheel in to set up camp. That way you have something to carry back the meat, hide, and horns. If you study the Alaska maps book, you'll see lots of old back trails you can use. Also, there are many old trails used by trappers. I hope your family comes back as there is so much more of Alaska to see. Great video Joas, it made me think of when my guy and I would hunt, fish, etc., enjoying being outdoors. He passed away in 2016, ending my time being outdoors, but I have the great memories. Our dream was to have a log cabin in the woods, sadly we met too late in life for that. He built a fish wheel, three owners, and they set it up at the Copper River in Chitna. We have great times, getting lots of wonderful salmon which we put up by smoking, canning, or fileting and freezing. It was a joy be able to subsist. That's what I love about your videos. You have a wonderful Christian family. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Sounds like you had quite an adventure out there,, glad you made it home safe and sound..and congratulations on the bear🎉🎉... oh, uhm,, I liked the little red riding hood wolf😊.. it's pretty neat.. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us..
Awesome hunt and video. Two mountain boys enjoying the wilderness. Joas, I pray in all good time that your feet will completely heal. Satan IS a dream stealer. He has definitely stolen too many of mine. It's encouraging to see you at least continue to move forward and do the things you love as hard as it might be. Endurance and resilience is a gift from God and you have both. He has been so good to you and your family. The Lord is just good. ❤ Congratulations on your bear.
Hey Joas.. amazing video!! I'm glad you go to places like this so i don't have to. building videos like this must be an incredible amount of effort Thanks for doing it!!
I know accactly what you mean. I've back wear for years. Years ago I couldn't do anything without pain. But thanks to the Lord I now can do a lot more. I'm house painter by profession, but I also love to do carpenter work and roofing, although I'm a woman.
Right there with you. Last year my humerous shattered because it was weakened by a tumor. Caused by kidney cancer. My arm is much weaker than before. I am headed in the right direction now. I understand the dream stealer worry. Stay strong and trust in the Lord.
So happy you got to experience your time to Alaska hunt with your cousin Eli. God in His amazement allowed you to not leave empty handed whether it be the black bear which you did harvest and also the many memories on top of it all. IN HIS TIME, HE THE LORD GOD WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN . HE WILL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART. When ? It’s totally up to you HIM. Numbers 6:24-26 , Deborah ❤
I think we all have thoughts about life situations that haven't gone as we've planned. I pray we don't let the devil rob us of our joy as we push forward with determination. I see that you aren't letting your accident stop you and I feel you will make the most of life with God's help. It might be that you will do things differently but I don't see that it will stop you completely. Praise the Lord for each new day! I loved this video!
I think the Lord that you know him, it’s really nice watching your videos and knowing you’re a Christian the Lord be with you keep you safe and I’m glad you got a bear. Have a great time.
Please be careful crossing those fast flowing river tributaries, Joas. Loaded as you are, a slippery rock could send you sailing downriver, and anything could happen. I held my breath on a couple of your crossings.
Wonderful video! So many great moments in this. Thank you for sharing it with us. Sorry you didn’t get a moose, or see more bulls, but very cool that you got a beautiful bear. Thank you too, for sharing your thoughts regarding your injury, it’s very understandable. You did a good job explaining your thoughts as a Christian. We can have times of struggle and wrestling with things, yet we also know how good our God is and how much He wants to bless us. He knows our deepest desires. Sometimes He makes us wait for things, and sometimes He says no for our own good, and sometimes He has something even better than we could imagine. It is truly an amazing journey to be a Christian and be able to rest in the Lord! May He continue to bless you and your family richly!
Beautiful scenery! But over two weeks 😮 with the bears and bugs and bad weather , not for me ! Question: how did that thin little fence keep bears out ? Assuming it wasn’t a shock fence .
Yes, keep dwelling in the world of God. You are alive after an accident. We just lost a friend, only 48 heart attack. Just keep on living, brother . May the Lord bless you.
Just remember it’s the devil putting the thought into your mind. We just have too pray & read the Bible even fast by pushing our plates away. Just like the lord said too do the Devil hates it when we give God the Glory.
small grizzleys, they get to having paws up to the width of your chest, we down here in LILLOOET had one harvested and its weight was 18oolbs, its head was 34"x34", and we`re in BRITISH COLUMBIA, bear ws probably a brown living in the glacial range.
Appreciate that you keep pushing through. It is tough having to go through a major accident like you have. I am a 63 year old woman and had a horse fall on me in 2005. It changed my life but like you I was determined to walk again (they were not sure if I would) and do what I always had. Unfortunately I was not able to do all I used to do but the Lord did allow me to walk again and I have had many wonderful years of hunting with my husband, hiking, fishing, etc. I had to give up riding horses but God had other plans for me and even though I miss it I can say I am fulfilled in Jesus. :) Never give up and never stop. It is HARD but so worth it. Now that I am getting older it is catching up with me and I feel the pain even more but I thank Jesus that for over 19 years I have been able to keep going. Slowing down more but God is so good and I thank Him for every day He has allowed me to continue to enjoy life and my family! Keeping you in prayer and just hold on to Jesus...even if things are different He will bless and life will be fulfilling. :)
I agree here out of South Africa and cocur with you. We hang onto our belief of which our faith in God is paramount. You are a very good example how a father should be as the King Priest and Prophet of our families we should be like Blessed Friend Dwell Well.😂
I gotta know. Did you get a moose! I would love to chat with you. If you would like, you can send me an email at Joaslogcabin@gmail.com very interesting!
I sure enjoyed this video. It is nice to see you and your cousin Eli go hunting. I can imangine how tasty that bear meat taste. Joas, take one day at a time. Glory to God. Praise Jesus, Amen.
We ate quite a bit of it but unfortunately by the end of the trip I was unable to keep it which was a disappointment. I could have had it flown out for $1200 but I can buy meat cheaper than that.
AMAZING. GOD HAS GIVEN YOU MUCH. QUIET TIME TO REFLECT WITH OUR FATHER. THANK YOU LORD. DANKE HERR GOTT. ICH LIEBE DICH. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR TRIP WITH US GUYS. SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🙏🀄✝️♥️
Joas, remember Romans 8:28. You may not understand Gods will and it may not fit with your dreams but it will work for you and your family because you love God and all things work together for good to them who love God.
@kooskool The God of Israel gave some animals for food Lev 11:1-47 Rom 14:1-23 If you prefer to abstain from meat and only eat vegetables, that is ur perogative, but it can not be imposed across the board.
@kooskool, try to stay consistent in your view that killing any animal to eat is wrong. It isn't. From time immemorial, it has been done. The native americans did as well. If ur 'religion' says it is wrong, Dont Eat Meat. Live and allow others to do the same.

Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like you had quite an adventure out there,, glad you made it home safe and sound..and congratulations on the bear🎉🎉... oh, uhm,, I liked the little red riding hood wolf😊.. it's pretty neat.. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us..
Thanks 👍😊
Awesome hunt and video. Two mountain boys enjoying the wilderness.
Joas, I pray in all good time that your feet will completely heal. Satan IS a dream stealer. He has definitely stolen too many of mine. It's encouraging to see you at least continue to move forward and do the things you love as hard as it might be. Endurance and resilience is a gift from God and you have both. He has been so good to you and your family. The Lord is just good. ❤ Congratulations on your bear.
Ty🥹❤️🙏🏻
Hey Joas.. amazing video!! I'm glad you go to places like this so i don't have to. building videos like this must be an incredible amount of effort Thanks for doing it!!
Glad you enjoyed it👍
I know accactly what you mean. I've back wear for years. Years ago I couldn't do anything without pain. But thanks to the Lord I now can do a lot more. I'm house painter by profession, but I also love to do carpenter work and roofing, although I'm a woman.
Thanks for sharing 👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Welcome 👍
Right there with you. Last year my humerous shattered because it was weakened by a tumor. Caused by kidney cancer. My arm is much weaker than before. I am headed in the right direction now. I understand the dream stealer worry. Stay strong and trust in the Lord.
🙏🏻❤️😊🤗
So happy you got to experience your time to Alaska hunt with your cousin Eli. God in His amazement allowed you to not leave empty handed whether it be the black bear which you did harvest and also the many memories on top of it all. IN HIS TIME, HE THE LORD GOD WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN . HE WILL GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART. When ? It’s totally up to you HIM. Numbers 6:24-26 , Deborah ❤
Thank you 😊
Looks delicious Joe👍👍🙏🙏
It was!
HAPPY FAMILY.✌✌✌🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
Super interesting video beautiful scenery get new shoes Joas😅 stay safe stay strong n wen the going gets tough the tough get going 😊😊❤
I'm so sorry your feet are hurting so bad. Good side of things you got a bear 🐻! Bear meat is super good. I hope your resting those feet now
Wonderful video!
You’re absolutely right I go through the same thing👍👍🙏🙏
Thanks ❤brother
Nice video.....😊
Thanks 😊
Beautiful scenery! But over two weeks 😮 with the bears and bugs and bad weather , not for me ! Question: how did that thin little fence keep bears out ? Assuming it wasn’t a shock fence .
It was a shocking fence. Thank you!
“Bear”-icade 😂
😊👍
I use organic castor oil on my knee and it has made a difference. I have to use it everyday and it took awhile before it stopped hurting.

Where'd you fly to from Anchorage with Alaska Airlines and what area was the hunt in?
Anchorage to Dillingham and then north from there.
I agree here out of South Africa and cocur with you. We hang onto our belief of which our faith in God is paramount. You are a very good example how a father should be as the King Priest and Prophet of our families we should be like Blessed Friend Dwell Well.😂
Hunted that exact location back in 2019.
I gotta know. Did you get a moose! I would love to chat with you. If you would like, you can send me an email at Joaslogcabin@gmail.com very interesting!
What camera did you use to film this? Amazing clarity! Also great video, thanks for sharing.
Just our phones!
I sure enjoyed this video. It is nice to see you and your cousin Eli go hunting. I can imangine how tasty that bear meat taste. Joas, take one day at a time. Glory to God. Praise Jesus, Amen.
Outstanding! Thanks for taking us on this adventure 😊 How did you keep the bear meat from spoiling?
We ate quite a bit of it but unfortunately by the end of the trip I was unable to keep it which was a disappointment. I could have had it flown out for $1200 but I can buy meat cheaper than that.
I would suggest visiting a podiatrist to see if orthotics would improve your situation
What is the purpose of killing an animal if you are not going to bring it home and preserve it. If it had been a moose what were you going to do?
We keep the hide and skull.
what a waste of the meat
That is SO terribly cruel!!!!!! The righteous man regardeth the life of his animal..
AMAZING. GOD HAS GIVEN YOU MUCH. QUIET TIME TO REFLECT WITH OUR FATHER.
THANK YOU LORD.
DANKE HERR GOTT. ICH LIEBE DICH.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR TRIP WITH US GUYS.
SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🙏🀄✝️♥️

Praying for your safety over there!

Miss alaska my home state
So glad you both got to go hunting together
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Joas, remember Romans 8:28. You may not understand Gods will and it may not fit with your dreams but it will work for you and your family because you love God and all things work together for good to them who love God.
@kooskool The God of Israel gave some animals for food Lev 11:1-47
Rom 14:1-23
If you prefer to abstain from meat and only eat vegetables, that is ur perogative, but it can not be imposed across the board.
@kooskool, try to stay consistent in your view that killing any animal to eat is wrong. It isn't. From time immemorial, it has been done. The native americans did as well. If ur 'religion' says it is wrong, Dont Eat Meat. Live and allow others to do the same.
❤😊❤
Nice 🫶🏽
Crashing through Alaska's alders is no picnic
I thought for sure a bull moose was going to be on the shore watching you leave!!!
🤷🏼😊
How does the bear fence keep out bears?
It’s a shocking fence
