I'm not going to listen to you guys anymore. The difference between Indian and Australian experts is that the latter are willing to criticize players who deserve to be criticized. Steven Smith was essentially shuffling and coming onto the fourth stump line, yet the bowlers and the captain had no plan to counter that. As for Rohit and Kohli, there’s nothing left to say at this point. You guys need to be honest in your assessments. These two have basically forced everyone else to retire: Ishant, Umesh, Pujara, Rahane, Dhawan, Saha, Ashwin, Shreyas (sidelined after one bad series), and so on. If the current form was the only criterion, these two would have been gone long ago. I just feel bad for the bowlers. Bumrah bowled 28 overs-that’s equivalent to three ODIs or seven T20 matches worth of overs in just four sessions. He doesn’t even get a day’s rest because of the failures of others. The crux of the matter is that, on any given day, an average, out-of-form Australian team is better than the best Indian team. This is because the Australians show flexibility and adapt when their backs are against the wall. Meanwhile, we keep doing the same conventional things and give up far too quickly. We saw this in the World Cup final, and now we’re seeing it again here. It’s so disappointing. I watched every ball in the first session yesterday, and it was just bad captaincy. There was no planning. A fielder was placed in an area only after the batsman had already hit shots there. Then, when the move didn’t work immediately, the fielder was quickly removed. The same happened with the short-ball plan-five bouncers, and the strategy was scrapped. I don’t claim to have deep knowledge of cricket, but this just feels bizarre. You need to discuss these issues, but instead, all you do is pander.
If you ever feel useless, take a look at Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who shamelessly flashes a wide smile sitting in dugout, A 39 year old player has dropped a 24 year old youngster to accommodate himself in the team, broke well settled opening pair(kl and yashasvi) just for him to open the innings this is very poor from Rohit Sharma, absolutely pathetic
In this same year he won us a semi final in T20 WC. The way he played against Aus was not something that an Indian has ever done. He has hit 2 sixes on 1st two balls of the test match just 2 months back. He is a legend. Don’t write him off bcz he failed in 7 test matches.
DK is very quick to criticise the bowlers but god forbid he says anything against Sharma and Kohli. Come on, Cricbuzz, be better. There are a lot of your fans here who can see right through this. Or maybe just like Kohli not learning to leave the ball outside off, you will not learn to be unbiased
DK I can' t agree with you on the run out., for the following reasons (1) If ypu have seen Virat Kohli as batter, he is always taking this kind of single and pressurising the non striker. (2)He saw jaiswal coming for the single, and instead of turning down the single straight away, he turned round to look and lost precious time. It was YJ ' s call and he 27:44 should have responded. That is the code. (3) If kohli had responded, the single was on, tight, but definitely on.but definitely on As for the booing and heckling, kohli deserved every bit of it, why are you hesitant to call a spade a spade. It was boorish, hooligan behaviour. Cmon, when will he grow up. Please dont defend the indefensible. Of course, I can appreciate your conflict of interest.
This superstar worship culture in Indian Cricket needs to kept in check, Blind kohli fans will defend him irrespective of whatever shit he does on and off field..
Its not about Kohli, I never liked his character. But you are backing Australians here? The thieves? you know Australians are thieves right? well their forefathers were. It was a prison. The way they and their media treat others as if they are the most important entities, must go away. In fact, they are crooks. If you are not a Virat fan, atleast support him as an Indian against Australian crooks
More than fans it's actually icc who should be blamed.. why can' they ban him for just one match ? I remember icc banned rabada for one match 3 -4 years ago but we all know icc = bcci
Completely agree. He does shit on the fields and now no performance from bat. Rohit doesn't deserve a place in the team and he is the captain. He is losing the series for India.
Today showed the value of Bharat Arun as bowling coach in 2021 in conjunction with Ajinkya Rahane as captain. What they achieved in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane is the gold standard for us.
Talent can get you so far, after that it's all hard work. Chokli is not at all interested in even listening to any criticism and/or working on his weakness.
@@PrasunRoyPlus He is working on his weakness but not listening to any one how to work on it ,it's only his way and instead of trying that technique in practice or local test tournament. He is trying in series. I think Rohit & Kohli are at stage how can i be dropped, I can still bat with same technique and be successful. Lets play this WTC cycle later we retire. In T20 final as well It's not Rohit captaincy or Virat they have little role but major role played by Bumrah , Pandya , ashradeep & Axar.
@@vivekjain8221 motherfucker Rohit except for final he had a great tournament and even then he committed to team plan of agressive batting and whereas chokli played an almost match losing innings just to be saved by bowlers ok.both rohit and chokli should be dropped
Harsha and DK: Please say “BAD” if it is “BAD”.. Don’t sugarcoat and try to coverup the “privilege player culture”. High Regards to Ashwin to take that call. Sharma and Chokli should follow the same.
Not criticizing Rohit and Kohli because they are now beyond the barriers of shamelessness. Both need to retire asap. Suffice to say we have gifted the BGT to Australia. 2-1 or 3-1. They thoroughly deserve it. Congrats on 2nd WTC trophy coz opponent will be SA. As far as Smith Vs Kohli is concerned, Smith's impact Vs India in Australian wins have been far greater than Kohli's impact Vs Australia in Indian wins/ draws. KL Rahul is 32 and for all his talent, he never owned one entire tour like Pujara (Aus 2018) and Kohli (Eng 2017). He generally plays 1-2 good innings in the entire series but is never consistent in these many years. Agreed his spot was constantly changed but still. Currently he is playing better than Rohit & Kohli but those can't be our benchmarks. Kohli and Jadeja have been really infamous for getting involved in runouts. And you can see Jaiswal has similar traits. Someone in the coaching staff needs to work with him on that on a serious note. I think it was Jaiswal's fault for the runout but maybe Kohli could have run this one by just trusting his partner. Pant and newer middle order batsmen (Sundar, Nitish) have no cricketing wits when batting with tailenders. In this instance, we were 4 down. Why take a single on Boland's first ball in the penultimate over and leave Akashdeep to face 5 balls? And let's stop using night watchmen please. In India's case, it doesn't work and they usually contribute well when they come at the end. Special mention for Siraj. He has been the difference between India and Australia in this series, in Aussies' favor of course. Out of touch for the last 2.5 years. It's laughable that Rohit travelled to Australia specifically after 1-0 just to make sure India loses the series. Yes, our bowlers have been shitty but so is his batting and captaincy.
Your point was spot on mate, Indian bowlers are clueless (expect Bumrah), poor guy doesn't have any support, no bowler who could provide impact with pace, Ashwin who is master forced to retire, Jaddu and Sundar 1 dimension bowlers who just fires the ball no variations at all , Reddy also bowls for just cover up but look at Marsh Aus part time bowlers beings a lot even Rohit wicket in 2023 final by Maxwell. We could still retain BGT by drawing the Sydney give chance to Dhruv Jurel, he is very good player
@@sibsibycomeon man this not about ipl. It's our country he is representing, there are a lot of players waiting for their time. We should bring in a bowler who actually does well in bowling and not brawling
This is the 3rd run out involving Kohli in 6 matches and another one with Philips getting him at the last ball. There is no imaginary "Dreaded twilight hour" .... Just plain and simple Kohli things- not trusting your partner bcoz u think u r more important than the team.
Kohli fans during series in Ind : He's failing to spin he likes pace and bounce he'll make a comeback in Aus. He has a great record in Aus. After failure in first innings: in Perth he'll make a comeback scores a 100 coming at 275/2 and no pressure bowlers have all exhausted. Fans be like King is back what a knock etc etc. He's gonna score 4 hundreds he'll repeat his 2014/15 heroics Adelaide is his favorite ground. Fails miserably at Adelaide Fans telling he doesn't have a hundred at Gabba he'll make Gavaskar eat his words. After failure at Gabba He has a good record at MCG he loves large crowds, his altercation with Konstas has pumped him up this is what gets him going so much hype by everyone as he crossed 30 although he has crossed 300 Let's see what happens next in 3 remaining innings
both rohit and Kohli have been super poor since many tests now, Rohit is avg in 11 , Kohli probably in 20's. time for both of them to hang their boots after Sydney.
@@NJP-cx8fy Rohit would definitely but I doubt Kohli would with so much fan following and crowd pulling ability end of the day revenue matters and he's bigger than the game, team everything else.
No hope from Rohit anyway, he did pretty well second half of his career, this is what happens when only few performances awarded with Test Captaincy. Virat Kohli has been below mediocre for 5 yrs now, i bet no one of fab 4 other than him would have kept his place in test if they had such stretch, even they have astronomically smaller talent pool
I think today 27th dec 1999 25 years remembrance of Sachin 💗 Greatest Of All Time MCG test century against a quality attack And the respect he gets globally Gentleman and will remain for ever ❤
There is no point to give Rohit one more test.. India will be 3-1 at sydney. Rohit mentally not in good frame of mind to bat or lead the side which affecting India badly.. he literally ruin Indian team once he came to Aus from 2nd test. also disturbing Rahul batting no. He is liability as a batsman and currently becoming worst captain to lead india in test . call spade a spade.. we dont want diplomatic answer from you guys ,like give one more match to Rohit or siraj..
@@optimistarun Do you think sydney will be drawn. i dont think we have the bowling and batting to draw the series. Honestly bumrah as bowled 30 overs this match itself. He will be dreading on second innings as he needs some rest. Worst batsmen in our team. Rahul got a good ball and jaiswal was a wrong decision, But what to say on rohit and kohli. Better they retire
Honestly, if Indian bowlers and the captain utilized the new ball better in the first session today and got the Aussies bundled out under 370, we would have been in a very good position considering the conditions and the presence of Pant, Reddy, washi, and Jadeja. What Rohit is doing as a batsman and captain is completely baffling to me. He should accept that he cannot effectively captain in this format and hand the reins to Bumrah, allowing him to focus on his game and play the Sydney Test. This current performance is embarrassing for the legacy he has created, and while Virat was looking in very good touch today, the run-out and the 300-run margin have allowed Australia to regain control of the game.
Even with Aus at 370 all out, how is India all out under 200 a good position. With the current batting lineup India is incapable of consistently scoring over 200 in 1st innings, which is going to be a problem on most occasions.
@@PrasunRoyPlus Even with a likely 200-run deficit, the older ball and improved batting conditions favor India tomorrow. Patient batting by Pant, Jadeja, and the others, similar to Kohli, Jaiswal, and Rahul today, and even Smith, is crucial. However, conceding a 150+ run lead to a tailender is poor captaincy. In Test cricket, a 400+ score often psychologically impacts the team and allows the opposition to regain momentum, as seen in Perth. While India's first-innings batting has been inconsistent, they were well-positioned today until the unfortunate run-out significantly altered the course of the match.
@@rrao7963 I'm not saying India would have won this match, but it's going to be a big turning point in the game. Jaiswal and Kohli looked solid, reminiscent of their Perth match, and that run-out led to Kohli's wicket, which I think was due to a lapse in concentration because of run out. Akashdeep's wicket also hurt, and with two new batsmen at the crease, they have to rebuild the innings and form a partnership. When one settled batsman is at the pitch, it allows the incoming batsman to settle and take their time. If you recall the 2014 MCG Test match, Kohli and Rahane built a partnership and took India's total close to Australia's first innings score. Such instances can significantly shift the momentum of the game. In the last Lord's Test against England, Bumrah and Shami partnership completely changed the momentum. Similarly, in the Gabba Test, Sundar and Shardul in first innings, and in the SCG Test, Ashwin and Vihari partnership. A strong partnership is paramount. After observing India's bowling and batting performances in recent Test matches, I honestly don't want India to reach the final because everything will again depend heavily on Bumrah. Essentially, conceding 299-6 and then collapsing to 474 all out reflects poor captaincy and bowling, especially considering the strong start with the new ball yesterday. After gaining some control in the third session, conceding under 370 today could have provided a significant psychological advantage. I may be wrong here but i don't think rohit in test is proactive captain.
DK would never criticize the stars, given he works at RCB now & that Sharma is his best pal who gave him a comeback opportunity late in his career. It’s disappointing to see cricket analysts, especially recent retirees providing analysis without the analysis, without being true in their criticisms. How smartly DK ducks the Hotspot question about Sharla’s retirement from tests
Mr. Harsha Bhogle, Please tell us how Rohit and Virat are benefitting Indian team in Australia. Bumrah led India to a 295 runs win in first test. Even Virat scored 100. Rohit takes over from Bumrah and almost all Indian batsmen and bowlers flop.(except Jasprit,Jadeja, Rahul and Yashasvi)
Here's summary guys: 5 minutes of empathy rant for Kohli Rohit should play entire series Woww, what a ball by cummins -1min Scott Boland is a legend, best bowler in the world. Relevant points?! Everything i guess.
I think Rohit Sharma lacks the natural instinct that few Indian captains had, to surprise the batsmen in the middle or the opposition team, Azharudhin, Ganguly, and Dhoni always had that instinct particularly using spinners effectively as a surprise weapon but like DK said Rohit doesn't bring spinners into the game plan at all, yesterday when Khawaja was going good, he could have gone for the offfie Sundar
Maybe the point of the Australian bowling line to Virat was to take away the leave. Force him to play every ball for a while, then go back to the fourth stump line and see if he still leaves.
There are two main problems in this squad that are very very obvious. There is no need to do analysis paralysis. 1. Bowling: In an Australian Track, you can't depend upon a single pace bowler. None of the two wickets taken by Akash Deep were convincing (Super fortunate in the case of Steve Smith, Carrey threw his wicket). Siraj should take some time and come back stronger, he has completely lost his way. 2. Batting:- Rohit Sharma is clearly out of form. Virat tried his best but because of the unfortunate incident happened he lost his focus. We definitely need Virat Kohli. Rohit should be replaced by Abhimanyu Eashwaran or Dhruv Jurel or anyone else. The next man on the radar is Rishabh Pant. No significant contribution post 1st Innings of Perth. Please don't beat around the bush. India is probably out of WTC and strict decisions need to be taken. We definitely need to find out replacements for Pujara and Rahane and their demoralising effect on the opposition.
After watching this series, it is very clear to me that bcci want to get rid of kohli & sharma. Ashwin understood this & left the room when it mattered. Kohli & rohit are unable to read the room clearly.
I would say they want to get rohit out, with due respect. Kohli can at least perform well under a captain like Bumrah, but for Rohit it will be next to impossible to do so
Akashdeep & Bumrah should bat ahead of Rohit atleast poor guy can get 10 or 20 at number ten..We need genuine quick bowlers coz our bowling looks toothless at the moment with three guys bowling at 131-135 kmph and Kuldeep Yadav should always be in the mix coz he's class act and can pick up wickets overseas too..Gill & Jaiswal can make a world class opening pair let Gill take his spot which is opening
Kohli has this uncanny ability to force a run out to his partner with a bewildered expression after the act is complete. Indian team selectors will comtinue with Virat for next several years keeping all emotions aside.
Virat Kohli has not been performing for a very long time. Rohit Sharma has never been a test cricketer. Both these guys are in the team because of their PR team. Both of them should be asked to leave. Harsha Bhogle has always been a pet of big Indian cricketers and he lacks courage to say anything critical about big names. Absolutely spineless
Shahid Afridi used to say ''cricket bahut rulatha hai''. How true those words would sound for Rohit and Virat... they were the toast of the nation in June when we won the T-20 WC. Now all and sundry are seeking their ouster. When Virat led the team; we had a gun bowling attack that lit up Lords... now we limp in both the batting and bowling.
It was not Jaiswal fault. Its was kholi fault. He shouldn't have look behind. You should be switched on. No one cant say prior that i will be running you will be ready
you've clearly never played cricket, so don't comment ever again on cricket. There was no run there. Jaiswal was brainless running there. That's not Kohli's fault
@@seanb2009 shut up ! Don't tell me that not to comment. You don't have that right. Check your facts first. See how many times Kholi has taken such runs before when non striker responded and couple of times he had got out similarly when non striker didn't respond. If my memory serves me correctly there was one such instance with Rohit Sharma in odis. Also is you see the footage just see his reaction when jaiswal said it's my call. Get a life dude
Kohli - Sharma's extended spell of poor form put pressure to shore up the lower order, which meant Ashwin would not get to play as consistently as he should have. So India carrying them despite their lack of form probably contributed to the latter's retirement.
Gambhir should have been given a warning when the team lost 0-3 against NW at home! That was an eye opener, BCCI was over confident that team will play good in bouncy tracks due to their IPL form! Rohit is getting out like a club player, Siraj is bowling worst then an Singapore U19 player, but he is till a choice as No. 2 after Bumrah! Remember, every time a player is dropped forcefully, Team mgt says, he is injured! Shami was dropped from WC but due to last minute inclusion, he showed what he could do. The final in Namo stadium was lost, again due to Sharma's stupidity to bowl Siraj ahead of Shami! The way Ashwin left mid-series, tells a lot about what lotabaji is going in Indian camp! Morne Morkel was kicked out by PCB in few months after he took over bowling coach in Pak. Guess what, his God father Gahmbhir hires him at a very lucrative package and brings him to India, cos of KKR connection! Irony that Gambhir said he will not allow politics in Indian team!
Virat watching the ball instead of the Yash's call is the stupidest Cricket from any legendary Criketer in my life. Virat's time seems to have aagaya to retire. Poor Yash! Already he shouted at Virat for not running for two at his shot at the deep cover. Rohit should leave Australia immediately without informing anyone and land in Mumbai, then announce his retirement. His captaincy, thought process, body language, respect for teammates...at its worst. His promotion did help neither his declining form norm in-form Rahul. If we don't succeed in folloe-on tomorrow, Gambir should fire or dump both Rohit and Virat. Yash was in Sublime form. Had Rohit not opened today, he would not have to bat with aging Virat at least till he svored a century. When Yash was on the crease, 350/4 wad my hope... Why are you giving over after over to Siraju in spite of his economy was kept going up ball afer ball? Look at those bouncers 8 runs; look at those boundaries of misfielding; look at his cluemess of Cricket itself. Is he a binami to anybody to enhoys this favor? You had two all rounders but let them collectively bowl only 20 overs in toto, that yoo both Redfy and Washy were tbe most economical? What was your intent to jack up the target? Tjose two would have at least contained the score to 400 in stead of 470+. Worst bowling change and rotation.. Give the baton to Bumrah and Rahul; fire Rohit and Virst with immediate effect. No more series for these two. Drop Siraju for good. I know, if Virat goes, Siraju goes too. Most defensive and self-centered captaincy ever seen in Indian captaincy. How funny can it be? A winning XI got completly shuffled and from 1-0 to 1-2...WTF!!! 😊😊 If Uric Acid in liquid form is dold at the vending machine in the stadium, select the button of each Aussie player's name and drink a glass of it before you return to India. 😊
One thing that nobody has discussed in this series that indian fast bowlers have been bowling slow. Since NZ series the pace has dropped from 140s to mid 130s . The main reason why apart from Bumrah no one has been as effective.
7-8 failures. Hit a half-century/century. Get a breather to take another 7-8 innings to see if your "star" batter scores again. The results are exactly what most realistic people expected them to be before the beginning of the series. The Perth win was only thanks to the class of Bumrah and the patience shown by Yashaswi and KL in the second innings. The Indian batting team has been horrible since years now but there's no chance any selection team could keep Kohli and Rohit out or ask them to play domestic.
I feel sorry for bumrah. That guy is missing shami. last series the reason why we won the series was because our fast bowlers - Bumrah, Shami were relentless. They were on the off stump consistently . They didnt allow australian batsmen to escape. Missing ravi shastri kohli combo. We know rohit is a odi captain and not a test captain. That is why he shows defensive captaincy. We cant win a test match with rohit as captain this series.
Just think about Bumrah he bowled 29 overs and his captain just playing 5 balls when batting how he take that. If they again come to bowl tomorrow after lunch i think he shouldn't bowl because it's complete injustice with him by batsman. Because it's been a long time that when batsman support bowlers it's always bowlers keep opposition under 200-300 sub score and their task become easy. Even bowlers are defending 150-200 runs but batsman never come and show courage to score 400 when opposition scored 400 against us. Bowlers need that support from batsman it can't be one sided. Please choose players on merit if someone not baking his skill than it's real bad and need to work in domestic. Today Kohli fought against his weakness and provided platform he failed but still it's work in progress but Rohit is clueless as batsman & captain and such mind can't lead a team to win. It can only win if all thing goes as per plan.
Sometimes or most of the times, Karthik responses are very diplomatic.Feels that sometimes Harsha feels confused and amused 😁. Its time to rebuild Indian Cricket team - Rohit, Siraj and Kohli to go out. They got more than sufficient chances. Its 3-4 years that the indian team not able to bat 90 overs in one inning. Although the rebuilding will be painful and may bring in more losses. But this is necessary. This test match is gone already - Loss is inevitable - the question is when - 4th day or 5th day
Harsha by sending Akash as the night watchman it would make Nitesh or Washi to bat at 9, which is almost wasting them but if Washi or Nitesh had come in as the night watchman they could have survived the day because they have a very good defense, and they could have continued into tomorrow and could have scored big, and at No 9 or 10 Akash could have been handy like he did in the last test match
It’s actually impressive how complimentary these two are of this India side. They are getting absolutely battered once again. Yes it is only day 2, but it’s been a disaster test so far all round.
Dinesh Karthik has completely forgotten that Smith is not #2 by avg in tests, there is this great sri lankan player Sangakkara who averages 57+ with 12k+ runs!
Last 24 mins after Jaiswal run out has taken all the steam from this inning. It is now one way traffic. You can make permutations and combinations but everyone knows i.e. all respected experts and Indian fans that this is gone most prob yhr series as well by 3-1. Only formalities are left. I mean how can a man lead this side who can't even bat for an hour forget about scoring runs. And how many chances or innings they need to score big runs.
DK was quick to point out Jaiswal's fault. Would he be quick to point out Rohit's/Kohli's fault? Anyway, for this runout, in my opinion, both the batsmen were equally culpable. You can argue there was no run there, but Virat could have responded to it and made the run since Jaiswal was 100% committed. Trusting the partner is something Virat does best, and on this occasion, he failed to do so and he has been failing for 4-5 years in test cricket now!
Harsha and DK … was the overall team selection right … too many “out of form” batters and a thin bowling line up … if Siraj was low on fuel why did we not try Prasidh, at least he has fresh legs … and why did we have Washington in the team if we were only using as a stop gap howler … are we feeling the pinch of Ashwin not being there … am sure Steve smith had some relief on that front …
Gents well said - you can see Australia are playing like a professional outfit and India looks like a sum of parts team. India may look at this run out as the pivotal moment if the loose the series. Rohit and Kholi are in the twilight of their careers. Rohit needs to make way for someone younger.
Why u guys always praising rohit sharma, virat kohli. Everyone knows rohit sharma will not pass single digit in test? Then why he is playing in 11. U don't have guts to criticize rohit sharma, virat kohli right? Then y u guys speaking here? Pls stop praising virat kohli for scoring 38 runs. This is ridiculous for hearing u guys always praising virat kohli, rohit sharma. It's very irritating to hear u guys praising virat kohli for scoring 38 runs.
2 things.... 1. What Gautam Gambhir has done to deserve his first overseas tour that too in AUS to win a series as a head coach? 2. Yes, the way IND played their cricket in the last decade, IND deserved to be in history books, to be the only Asian team to win series twice in AUS, but it is not going to be like you go to AUS tour and dominate as you wish....
bro gautam gambhir is doing wat bcci wants him to do. If you look at it, everything that has happened since he joined ranks is to expose rohit & kohli. Making rank turners vs nz , clearly knowing that players r not gonna score runs. Making rohit bat at 6 so that he feels outta water & den pushing him up again so that his brain scrambles. Not helping kohli with the off stump.issue & letting him rot. Bringing in Sundar & play him wid ashwin against nz water he took a lot more wickets Dan ashwin. If u r smart enough, knw dis. Accidentally doesn't want india to win border gavaskar. They want them to lose miserably.
None of the so called "Experts" are able to understand that Kohli and Sharma are done and are huge burden on the team. They are the reason that India lost ODIs against Sl and 3 Tests against NZ and are set to lose This series as well. Sharma specially is a bigger burden as he is a pathetic captain and his biased against Axar is proving to have cost us dearly. Mind you, Axar was the best batsman of the last BGT even after he batted at number 9 in the whole series.
17:23 Dk claiming both vk & jaiswal did not run quick single before that run out... Are we blind they run more than 10 quick singles before that... Dk don't be a joker
Cummins captaincy was very proactive. Adding the leg slip for Aakashdeep - they could have just had normal line and length for the nightwatchman but they planned and did something different. Feel our body language and fielding was all reactive unfortunately
I think Harsha Bhogle is the best commentator in years, and DK is a great analyser of the game. Always soothing and gets me a closure to hear them. Love❤
DK is a Virat bhakt…Jaiswal would have easily made it. Kohli saw Jaiswal running for it and yet decided to watch the ball and just went back to the crease. Didn’t even bother to shout no to your striker running towards the danger end. Had this been Virat, calling for the single which he does at many occasions, reactions would have been very different towards the non striker.
With the series tied at 1-1 and only Melbourne and Sydney left, we Indian fans thought we were in a good position. But the Indian think tank completely messed it up. There was no need to change the openers, and in Melbourne and Sydney, Gill is a better choice than Nitish Kumar Reddy. The major difference between the two teams in this series is one or two batsmen doing well for Australia, Head and Smith. There was one bowler who could have troubled these two left home the moment he realized that he is the third option and he will not get his chance to play and when did cricket become like football where the coach has more say than the captain?
Rohit needs to go . Man he is not just out of form, it looks like he ain't seeing the ball clearly, has to be the age catching up maybe . But this happens with everyone in their late 30s. And thats why they retire. Even if somehow we win this series, he should re think about how much cricket he has got left in him.
When we visited Australia last time, we planned and bowled better. Thanks to Shastri and Bharat Arun. I believe we are missing some thought process. Also it is surprising to see Siraj being so ineffective. I believe the team think tank should have seen this coming.
Gill was unfortunate. To be fair the only two innings where the pitch was favoring batters was Perth 2nd innings where Jaiswal, Virat scored 100s, and here at MCG, one of the best batting pitches that this series would offer. Gill missed out the first test due to injury, and even though he was getting out in 2nd and 3rd test, those conditions were harder for all players, plus he did look in a good nick. He was not in any pressure, would have played freely today. He did that in MCG in 2021 tour where he scored 45 and 35*. A pure technically sound batsmen was dropped to make place for off spin allrounder when neither the ball is spinning, nor two spinners even needed in the side if Jadeja was already set on playing. This is extremely poor decision making on Gambhir and Rohit's part. When you know scoring runs have been the weak point of the team throughout the series, why would you reduce a batter. I think they went with the thought that because its good for batting, the other batters are capable of scoring runs and hence they needed a bowler. But its clearly backfiring. Rohit and Virat cannot be counted as scoring batters anymore, they are a walking wicket. Indian team has only gone with 3 in-form batters in this match. Jaiswal, Rahul and Jadeja. Yes Jadeja, not pant.
@cricbuzz Shapit Shameless Sharma 😮💨🥱😏🤷🏻 Atithi tum kab jaoge can be easily replaced to sharmaji tum kab jaoge ??🤷🏻🙄 Yrr it's high time sharma, have some shame & leave yourself with dignity before someone sacks you from captaincy or kicks you out of the team.
What's there to analyze? The walking wicket at no 4 got out to the same ball he's been getting out to for the past 5 years. The captain screws up the batting order to accommodate himself. "Mental resolve" my ass - 160 odd for 5 and they're well on their way to losing badly.
Maybe Indian teams for next emg series... Jaiswal - Rahul Virat (he'll be backed most probably) Pant Jadeja Nitish (try to be a philander like in bowling) - - Bumrah (C) Shami (Hopefully)
Kind of disappointed why Kohli was let go for his fault in the runout. I thought both were at fault. Jaiswal for taking a risky single and Kohli for not trusting his partner and turning back to look at the ball. I think one incident played a part in this runout. 4-5 overs earlier there was an easy 2 on the leg side but they only took 1 because Jaiswal didn't run the first one hard. Both the batters acknowledged this, but since this, Jaiswal was running too hard trying to ensure that he doesn't miss another run. There was a moment after this where Jaiswal called for a risky run but Kohli said no. I think this ultimately contributed to the runout.
So disappointing to see that almost no experts can straightforwardly point out that the captaincy is a major issue in this test team, Rohit Sharma, One of the best white ball players and captains as well, was not even a part of the Indian test squads for more than half of his career, And suddenly appears and becomes captain of a format that he is not well versed with.
Run outs are killers and although I agree with Dinesh Karthik that it was a risky single but Kohli should have gone for it. Also the role of a senior player like Kohli is to guide the youngster. Lastly in India's last series 1st Test in Australia, Kohli got run out calling for a similar single to mid-on that Rahane refused and ended up in a run-out. Too bad we do not learn our lessons.
It isn't making sense what DK said, when you get into the middle, any batsman should be ready to take and respond to quick singles without any notification, that is the basics of cricket and running between the wickets, it isn't like a batsman should tell the other batsman that I am going to take a quick single, so please be ready.
This is R sridhar from Bangalore. Indian Team is consistently struggling with the bat. , which is the catalyst for their downfall in this series. In the Melbourne test Jadeja and Pant should put on three figure partnership which only helps India at this stage
Indian bowlers were short - Cummins delivery to Rahul was beautiful because he pitched it up and it was hitting the stumps. Indian bowlers bowled many such balls but it beat the batter instead of hitting the stumps.
1. Other teams drop players if a player’s average drops below 35-30. 2. India should have played Kotian who was an MVP in Ranji, a proper allrounder. 3. Even if Rohit makes a 50+ in the next innings. He should retire. Look at his Inzamam like Belly. 4. Kohli played much better today, but failed with the same weakness. 5. We need to replace RS & VK, with younger generation (Sai Sudharshan etc) starting from England tour
We need to be objective here. This is Rohit Sharma's first test tour of Aus as captain and 4th as a player. He's never made an impact with the bat in Australia, for all the talent he has. There's no need for worshipping or even slogging him. But this is what he's been like for the most part overseas with the bat. And his captaincy is falling short big time. We don't have bowlers excuse can go only so far. He's looked reluctant, rigid, clueless as captain at times, letting the game drift too much. It's reminding us of the 2011 bgt
Nope they actually want ro-ko to fail. Isn't it clear yet to you that they want to lose to clear space for new captain & players. Ashein understood this & therefore left mid way
----This series will be crucial for some senior players. On the batting supporting pitch, running between the wickets, call and response between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli is suicidal.
"Rohit and Virat have 3 innings to make a statement", does the mean if they make a big score in these 3 innings, all is well and all scores are settled?
From this ongoing match , till now his reaction to upcoming youngsters in cricket, whether Sam or yeshwi not matching his standards, lets wait till what hapens if india is good enough in chasing , given an oppurtunity.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are too big. Theyve sacrificed and done service for the country for so many years! Now they deserve to be carried by the youngsters. They are both legends who should be supported, not criticized. I'm not being sarcastic
Baloney from DK. There is no justification in saying that had they taken such a single earlier they could have gone for such a single that dismissed Jaiswal. Kohli could have easily made that run. Kohli was pushing Jaiswal hard for his singles earlier.

yeah DK has conflict of interest
DK I can' t agree with you on the run out., for the following reasons (1) If ypu have seen Virat Kohli as batter, he is always taking this kind of single and pressurising the non striker. (2)He saw jaiswal coming for the single, and instead of turning down the single straight away, he turned round to look and lost precious time. It was YJ ' s call and he 27:44 should have responded. That is the code. (3) If kohli had responded, the single was on, tight, but definitely on.but definitely on
As for the booing and heckling, kohli deserved every bit of it, why are you hesitant to call a spade a spade. It was boorish, hooligan behaviour. Cmon, when will he grow up. Please dont defend the indefensible. Of course, I can appreciate your conflict of interest.

Rubbish, this is the same team which has been unbeaten in australia for the last 8 years. Indians are way too much short sighted.
I saw the match when India started to bat. To me it appeared that Rohit's getting out shot was literally giving catching practice to Boland.

@@bhavyajain2593you mean to say india would have won this match without the run out such hypothetical thinking

Here's summary guys: 5 minutes of empathy rant for Kohli
Rohit should play entire series
Woww, what a ball by cummins -1min
Scott Boland is a legend, best bowler in the world.
Relevant points?! Everything i guess.
I think Rohit Sharma lacks the natural instinct that few Indian captains had, to surprise the batsmen in the middle or the opposition team, Azharudhin, Ganguly, and Dhoni always had that instinct particularly using spinners effectively as a surprise weapon but like DK said Rohit doesn't bring spinners into the game plan at all, yesterday when Khawaja was going good, he could have gone for the offfie Sundar
nah MSD was equally bad at doing nothing
Dhoni was the worst test captain of all! His Sena record is 17%
Maybe the point of the Australian bowling line to Virat was to take away the leave.
Concentration lapse is also a mental challenge that so called greats need to overcome
Clearly fault of vk for Jaiswal dismissal…pure selfishness
After watching this series, it is very clear to me that bcci want to get rid of kohli & sharma. Ashwin understood this & left the room when it mattered. Kohli & rohit are unable to read the room clearly.
I would say they want to get rohit out, with due respect. Kohli can at least perform well under a captain like Bumrah, but for Rohit it will be next to impossible to do so
India was winning when Rohit Sharma didn’t feature in the Indian team.

Kohli - Sharma's extended spell of poor form put pressure to shore up the lower order, which meant Ashwin would not get to play as consistently as he should have. So India carrying them despite their lack of form probably contributed to the latter's retirement.

If Uric Acid in liquid form is dold at the vending machine in the stadium, select the button of each Aussie player's name and drink a glass of it before you return to India.

And it through kohli off too.
He said for people in first innings . His average in first innings is over 84. Second only to Bradman
A bowler in India fails for ten innings and is still assured of his place…have we ever heard of it ..
Really harsha. Kapil single handedly handled Indian fast bowling for a decade😮
As an Australian fan, i was gutted for Jaiswal when he got run out.
lol no you're not don't lie.
@seanb2009 i was. I like a lot of the Indian players.
DK we all know why Rohit Sharma got out. You need not explain why he is getting out. Everyone knows that. Fact of matter his he is done
Cummins captaincy was very proactive. Adding the leg slip for Aakashdeep - they could have just had normal line and length for the nightwatchman but they planned and did something different. Feel our body language and fielding was all reactive unfortunately
Just pathetic from the senior players during batting, and here no one dares to speak about it 😂😂
If Jaiswal’s call for the single was immature, how mature was Virat to turn back and look at the ball? 16:54
Y Jaiswal
S Gill
KL Rahul
Abi iswaran/ S Iyer
R Pant
D Jurel/S khan
NK reddy
K yadav/ W Sundar
A Deeb / H Rana
M Shami/ Siraj
Bumrah
Rohit needs to go . Man he is not just out of form, it looks like he ain't seeing the ball clearly, has to be the age catching up maybe . But this happens with everyone in their late 30s. And thats why they retire. Even if somehow we win this series, he should re think about how much cricket he has got left in him.
When we visited Australia last time, we planned and bowled better. Thanks to Shastri and Bharat Arun. I believe we are missing some thought process. Also it is surprising to see Siraj being so ineffective. I believe the team think tank should have seen this coming.
Very good analysis by both of you.
Keep rocking
Excuse me! Did DK call Kohli's 36 runs as a fighting innings?😂😂 Next what? Rohit's shot was a brave one? Heights of shamelessness 😂
Don’t understand why Harsha is being diplomatic on Rohit Sharma. DK was candid. Harsha needs to be firm in his views.
@cricbuzz
Shapit Shameless Sharma 😮💨🥱😏🤷🏻
Atithi tum kab jaoge can be easily replaced to sharmaji tum kab jaoge ??🤷🏻🙄
Yrr it's high time sharma, have some shame & leave yourself with dignity before someone sacks you from captaincy or kicks you out of the team.
Jaiswal
-
Rahul
Virat (he'll be backed most probably)
Pant
Jadeja
Nitish (try to be a philander like in bowling)
-
-
Bumrah (C)
Shami (Hopefully)
Kohli was the interesting one for sure. These guys on BCCI payroll are missing backbone. Please someone donate a few backbones.
Rohit needs to be sacked both as captain and also as indian international player
Siraj - Throw him to domestics
It's the bowling !
Is it a case of Gautam gambhir is not yet ready for national team. Coaching . The entire coaching crew needs to be blamed in my view
Nope they actually want ro-ko to fail. Isn't it clear yet to you that they want to lose to clear space for new captain & players. Ashein understood this & therefore left mid way
@@utkarshthukral9699yes Ashwin cleared that with sky
----This series will be crucial for some senior players. On the batting supporting pitch, running between the wickets, call and response between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli is suicidal.
Never in history
A leg spinner became
World's best batsman
Steve smith 😍
How can we expect a team to win a test match which fails to post 300 in the first innings regularly?
"Rohit and Virat have 3 innings to make a statement", does the mean if they make a big score in these 3 innings, all is well and all scores are settled?
From this ongoing match , till now his reaction to upcoming youngsters in cricket, whether Sam or yeshwi not matching his standards, lets wait till what hapens if india is good enough in chasing , given an oppurtunity.
Going with 3 bowlers 😂 out of which only one is strike bowler 😅🤦♂️
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are too big. Theyve sacrificed and done service for the country for so many years! Now they deserve to be carried by the youngsters. They are both legends who should be supported, not criticized. I'm not being sarcastic
Baloney from DK. There is no justification in saying that had they taken such a single earlier they could have gone for such a single that dismissed Jaiswal. Kohli could have easily made that run. Kohli was pushing Jaiswal hard for his singles earlier.
