This is “Falsettos.” It’s about a family living in the late 70s early 80s. The family consists of Marvin, Trina, and their son Jason. Marvin, however, discovers he’s gay and divorces Trina and leaves Jason to go live with his lover, Whizzer. Marvin suggests to Trina that she go see his therapist, Mendel. Mendel ends up falling in love with Trina.

The music of Falsetto is terrific. The book is awful. Marvin, the lead character, is an awful, selfish, narcissistic character without regard for anyone else except himself. Can't root for a character/person like that to succeed.
