Hello everyone. At first i want to ask you not to send hate to anyone, we are all people after all. I want to say that i NEVER deleted any comments in the map call or here. (Only bot spam ones with adds) I was “ignoring” people just because i don’t know english at all, and i use google translator for communication. I knew that some people were talking about some issue, but I couldn’t understand what it was. There is no articles or videos on my language that I could found about cultural appropriation. About the main issue. I didn’t wanted to offend anyone. Me with my irl friends decided to do a map with river clan being in Ancient Egypt . I did only the script and some designs. I never wanted to offend or hurt anyone. I am going to be careful in the future. I am sorry for some people that got offended or hurt, because of it.
I think this is a good apology, a decent one - much better than ignoring everything that's happening. But I don't think others will accept it (they want blood I feel) and they'll want you to unlist/take down this vid.
If you can organize a multi month long project with several dozen people involved and like all the comments supporting you, then you can understand the poc complaining about this since last july. Take down the map.
Gonna also pop in and say that those who are accusing you of deleting comments may have had their comments reported to TH-cam and TH-cam deleted them- a lot of the stuff being said could fall under bullying and harassment. Honestly some of it is by definition harassment.
There were plenty of russian comments telling you about the whole issue about this map. Even if you didnt know english very well, you should at least have tried to translate everything and put 2 and 2 together. Hell, you didnt even need to do that. You should have just realised it yourself as a basic moral that it is not okay to take something from another culture and reduce it to jewelry and eyeliner. Dont pass the blame to your friends or anyone else. You posted the map call, held contact with the animators, and released the map with a full knowledge of what was happening. Take down this Map right now and never put it back up again. Same with that spotted×thistle one.
Egyptians used to worship cats. So in a way this map idea was honestly brilliant! I love the design of leopardstar and can't stop watching. This map is gorgeous!

I'm egyptian, and I personally don't see any problem with this map The connection between modern and ancient egyptians after tons of occupations still holds 90% just for tourists I've read comments from other egyptians and they also didn't had any problem at all Only egyptians shall judge if this map is appropriating their culture or not, not any other nationalities Хорошая работа ребята! As a non-egyptain, i can assure you that the egyptains will be the people to see wether this is wrong or right, because this is based on *their* culture, and nobody else needs to judge/criticize them because of "offending people." Aslong as the egyptains are fine with it, then there‘s nothing wrong at all

Since the entire comment section is now filled with drama, arguing, and other stuff, I just want to say the animators did an amazing job and I am absolutely obsessed with the last shot! Plus the idea of Leopardstar being more of an honorable and just queen, rather than the prideful spoiled brat in the series, makes it so much better! The idea of a leader being more like royalty in riverclan is a really good idea, in the sense of an au where the clans are more different and unique than being cookiecut in the books.
I would like to see a bit more diversity but if you read super editions and novellas youll find some have more to them than expected. Like windclan used to make tunnels. The reason they dont now is bc the leader didnt want to lose more cats to tunnel collapses. Which is understandable but if there are cats who still want to do it bc they loved doing it. They should be allowed. I thought it was a really cool tradition and its a shame the leader let fear end it
Unfortunately, MoodleDoodle (who is also a minor, I believe?) set their fans on Kulta. I get the complaints, but this is ridiculous. No impulse control among teenagers

As an egyptian I found this map really interesting, I don't feel offended. Designs are beautiful. We all make mistakes but this map was not even that big of a deal, the purpose was not to offend anyone. In this modern world it is hard to be a good(or perfect) person, we should be more forgiving and sympathetic.

Damn. Reading through this I really understood how messed up some people are. Honestly, what do you mean, reducting a culture to just jewels and glyths? This is a short, rough animation made by people who aren't doing for a job, but for fun. What do you expect them do put in the goddamn animation? A history lesson? Detailed description and overly complicating things and making it even harder for them to complete this animation? They had a concept, a vision, and they created it. And that, darling, is beautiful and amazing.

I loved this alternative that Leopardstar defended her clan against Tigerstar instead of letting Blackfoot killing Stonefur and becoming “Tigerclan” - This is what should’ve happened in the books ! Good job!
Just freshly re-read that part in the book and it's really sad. This outcome would have been so strong. Even something like Graystripe stepping, Firestar joining and then RiverClan starting to step up too would have been nice.
Just wanna chime in and remind people that there is a difference between harmful appropriation and cultural appreciation. Let's not pull another Speedy Gonzalez and accuse people of making an Egyptian-themed AU of being racist just because it's set in Egypt. Ask yourself honestly what makes an Egyptian setting racist. Because it's Egyptian? Because it's something other than white culture? That's not inherently racist. There are plenty of middle eastern people in the comments defending the MAP and you're going to tell them they should be offended? People from other cultures love seeing their cultures being represented in media. Latino representation is a good example. They love seeing elements of their culture being portrayed, so long as it's not done distastefully (and you know, outside of the obvious greedy cash grabs from people outside the culture). Just because something isn't white-coded doesn't mean it's racist. Getting offended on behalf of someone else when they themselves enjoy the content is on you, not the creators. They didn't intend to offend people in making this, and watching it myself I don't see any kinds of racist stereotypes. I just see cats in ancient Egyptian-inspired outfits. Are we going to say that other similar-themed AUs are racist for depicting different periods of dress or different settings around the world? If middle eastern people are watching this and enjoying it then cool your jets. Quit assuming things are racist or problematic because they aren't white-coded. EDIT: I also wanna add that cultural appropriation by definition is "adopting an element of a culture or identity by someone of a different culture or identity." Cultural appropriation occurs when you give a skewed or inaccurate perspective of that culture, when you reinforce negative stereotypes, or take credit for the element of the culture you've adopted. They just put the cats in Egypt. They weren't trying to make a statement on the middle east or represent them as harmful racial stereotypes. Again, listen to the actual middle eastern people in the comments who are telling everyone they have no issues with this video and that they themselves aren't offended.

I even offered the question, how is Leopardstar considered in appropriate? Maskara, triangle earrings and a necklace? That combination is common. I even saw some people try to compare Leopard x Tiger to Cleopatra x Anthony in how cleo seduced anthony...but here's the thing that's why its also an au. In the end, Leopardstar stands up for herself. Aka becoming what Cleopatra was in life. She was more than a seductive lady,she was a bold leader who dominated over male counterparts not in love but in war. She was a FEIRCE WARRIOR,just like Leopardstar. Just because the cats have accessories doesn't mean that's what is defining them.

Sure, the artist of this song is a bad person, but people can look up lyric videos Instead of supporting someone as bad as the singer. You can desperate the art from the artist. I’m from Greece and I see tons of Ancient Greece inspired Maps, especially in the Warriors community. I don’t read Warriors, but I don’t mind people talking like certain outfit ideas from the ancients. I see Nothing wrong with those type of Maps (sorry if my English is a bit bad, Greek is my first language lol). As long as your not taking things from the actual religion and filling in the gaps with fake information then it’s fine. Outfit ideas, scenery is just fine.

As a fan of character design and world building, I absolutely love this idea. To see warrior cat clans exist in different regions and time periods, let alone one so cat-focused as ancient Egypt, it opens up so much story-telling potential.
I love how everyone lost their shit over this masterpiece then like a day later everyone turned into “Guys listen to the Egyptian people and not the others” (which is a good thing) smh some people love to cause trouble.

I’ve always thought this… idk there’s no bad symbolism in the video. It’s just liking the jewelry they wore in Egypt. The song might be racist but I wouldn’t know, i personally think it’s catchy. Same with the pirate scourge video… there are still cannibal tribes out there, there are still tribes that wear bones. I do think it’s a little weird he would wear the skull of one of his warriors though, that’s the real problem 😂 In that vein, Cowboy mapleshade was racist against muricans! All those memes! I'm glad that people are defending the map host. This isn't cultural appropriation as far as I'm aware, they're just using Egyptian-inspired jewelry, wear, and makeup for an Egyptian-themed song :/ I would understand that it's cultural appropriation if there were, like, slaves in the background and other stereotypical stuff like that, but- cmon, y'all, this is just clothing and attire. No one is being hurt by thinking this is what Egyptian people wear

I find it weird how people are hating because of ancient Egyptian aesthetics while making Egyptian themed OCs (in or outside Warriors) in that same breath. They’re raging about ancient aesthetics and not the culture that currently represents modern Egyptians. Like, Christ, cats are literally worshipped in ancient Egypt.

As someone who is from the Middle East I don’t see anything wrong with this map??? Bringing Egyptian culture was in fact a creative idea, it fits with leopardstar too. So I don’t really know but most the people in this fandom are just dramatic :/

Everyone- I would like to make this clear. Most of you aren’t Egyptian, so you have no place to be offended. In fact, people who are Egyptian have stated that they love this map, so it is clearly not a big cultural offence to them. I know, the creator saying that they are a minor is a small, and very weak excuse, but with that aside, this is wonderful map, and everyone needs to just get over it.
There are people putting blame on Americans starting everything. I didn't do anything but watch the animation a few times, liked it, subbed, and came down to the comments to try and find out more about the AU. I just thought the cats looked pretty, I didn't think they were Egyptian or Iranian or Iraqis.

Reminds me of the Sandstorm "I won't say I'm in love" MAP. That depicts Greek culture in a very basic way. My Greek boyfriend HATES that movie (Hercules) for how carelessly it handled his ancestors culture but he never gets up in arms because its PEOPLE HAVING FUN and it's art other people enjoy. I know he wouldn't have cared about that MAP being made cause NO ONE CARES. Actually so annoyed by this community being offended for doing something different for fun. Catch a grip guys.
Tbf Im Greek and I loved the idea of that MAP and I actually like the hercules movie because of the animation style. Ik i cant speak for everyone(certainly cant speak in this MAP issue) but just cus 2 people on twitter complained about it doesnt mean its offensive to every Greek person. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I also don't like Hercules bc it has so many innacuracies even of basic mythology but i know many people that got into greek mythos and everything more bc of this.It's a funny and well movie after all.If that made some people's childhood happy i see no problem.

I am Greek and tbh, I get where your boyfriend is coming from. I don’t really mind the movie, I just find it funny. Disney has a habit of doing those things and taking things from certain cultures for movie purposes (sorry if I said that wrong, Greek is my first language so if that doesint make sense, oops). But I don’t really mind Ancient Greek style maps because well, we dont really practice those religions anymore. Now, if you were doing something like assuming certain Christians worship so and so for this reason and it’s completely wrong, then that’s bad. But this map is just taking inspiration from an ancient time, my middle eastern friends have no problem with this map, so people who aren’t middle eastern have no say into what they find offensive and what they don’t.
Now that the drama seems to have reached less of a boiling point it needs to be reminded that if you are not in this case Egyptian that you can’t really decide if this is cultural appropriation due to it not being your culture. If any Egyptians find this to be appropriation then it most likely is, however the comments from actual Egyptians about this map seem to be quite positive. Also don't attack the participants of this map or call them racists it’s just highly disrespectful.
For real. This comment section is full of white kids telling other white kids that this is offensive. Then the people who actually belong to the culture are not even offended, but of course white kids just have this "worry not, helpless minority! I will be offended on your behalf!" mindset going on. I see so much crap about people using symbols from the culture i have blood from and was heavily raised around because of "cultural appropriation." If its not demeaning or aggressive to the culture, it's really not that big of a deal. Sure people should research the culture before using it, but she's a TEENAGER for crying out loud! ok 1. I love this map so much it gave me chills! 2. In Egypt (correct me if im wrong), cats were praised as special beings in a way. They even have a goddess who is a cat named Baste and I adore her a lot tbh especially the culture (im still doing research ) , and i see this map fits it very well especially how the Egyptians have a special relationship with the felines.
I love how there are a lot of maps connected to different countries history, sometimes with kinda silly songs, and people made drama only about this one. Also, can we talk how fricking adult human cancelled a minor just for animated map about kitties?

I’ve gotten a lot of bigoted comments and treatment and as someone who has dealt with that, this ain’t it. I think the situation was blown out of proportion. This is a really well made map and I love all of the designs, though I do think part of what caused the issue was the language barrier. But in the end this is still the product of many combined hours of hard work from many artists.

It’s quite unfair to the host and the animators, who thought it was just fun. It seems quite accurate for Riverclan to be Egyptian, and the same for the Greek Thunderclan MAP.

honestly as far as i'm aware, that's how it's always been. when i first read the books i remember joining amino and then i got into the animation side of things and basically everywhere i went it was either gatekeeping on amino, hating on amino, or hating on creators for one reason or another. who knew the prophecy in the books represented the real world, too: "that is how it has always been and how it will always be"
People are reading racism into everything. There are people that complained about lotr being racist too (White males as the main team, "evil" species like orcs being evil and "good" species like elves being good,...). From 2021 views seemingly even a banana is racist because it's white inside ._.

I love that gold jewelry was added to the bone pile. This is a detail that could have easily been overlooked, but it thankfully wasn’t. It makes this universe more believable and keeps you grounded in it. It is a much appreciated detail and makes this map more amazing than it already is. Also, showing Tigerclaw/star on screen whenever the deep voice comes on is another great addition to detail. This was well thought out. Amazing job!
I don't see what all the drama's about, this map fits incredibly well. Leopard as Cleopatra works so incredibly well, who woulda thought? I would never have this much creativity, everybody who took part in this map did amazing. Great job, and I can't wait to see more!
I just want to say… To all those people who are saying this map is super racist and sending death threats to Kulta and the animations, you need to listen real quick First of all, most of the Americans who say this is racist aren’t even Egyptian. That means, you have no absolute right, under any circumstances, to say such things.! Its not your culture, your country, and Egyptians can speak up for themselves if they want to, we don’t have to do it for them, and they don’t even need speaking up for! I spent half an hour scrolling down comments and couldn’t find one hateful comment that was from an Egyptian and, (I am American too) Americans aren’t special! We aren’t superior to any other person out country, we can’t even raise our livestock and harvest our crips properly! (please read The Omnivore’s Dilemma) You can’t do this! Second, you can’t send death threats to Kulta and the other artists here. Death threats are illegal, they can land you in jail, (I think) but unless your stupid enough to say your address, you most likely will just get punished, if your reported. And I am BEGGING for those people’s punishment. Like I said in the earlier part of this comment, you have no right to say these threats in defense of strong people who like this map, so back off Third, I love this map! Dude it is just antropomorphic characters in aesthetics of ancient Egypt a culture that has been fully replaced by people of completely different ethnicity. Plus cats were considered gods in ancient Egypt. Animators who draw antropomorphic characters don't see animals as slaves but as creatures from whom we can learn and they wish their senses were as sharp. Egyptian gods were antropomorphic characters. But it is hard to understand for Abrahamic religions to understand such thing.

I'm really confused on what the hate is about but I just love this MAP! And when Leopardstar says 'Cleopatra' its almost exactly how I imagine her voice! The animators did an amazing job regardless of the drama that was going on with this MAP
I love it, it symbolizes warrior characters with such cool outfits, accessories, and ideas. It looks wonderful and is just great to look at, the animation is smooth too, makes it even better!
I'm fine with this as long as the Egyptians are cool with it, not a bunch of random Americans trying to cancel everything- Like please stop being offended for them- They can speak for themselves. 😀

I think there are parallels to Cleopatra and Leopardstar. Even the way they can be portrayed are similar (either as power-hungry and selfish or as compassionate and courageous). So I think it is a good choice, besides Leopardstar always reminded me of Egypt, even Riverclan can remind you of the Nile (they really relied on the river, just like riverclan). I think in this map Blackfoot is the real mvp since if he didn't stop, Leopardstar would just watch her subjects die.
Thats honestly why I grew to hate Leopardstar. She basically handed her clan over and did nothing to stop Tigerstar when he was clearly getting out of control and destroying everything

Unfortunately majority of this fandom is made up of people who live on the worst side of twitter. That is to say they will spread misinformation, bully, harass and slander all to fatten up their high horse. They want you to beg for forgiveness and even that isn't enough. They want blood, 90 percent of people here aren't even Egyptian. I think the majority care less about actually wanting respect for the culture than just wanting to be praised for putting down those who they vilify. I admit the map isn't perfect, but it was literally made of harmless fun. And now people are calling the host racist? Bigoted? Saying they support a ship that they don't? Just lies all of it. They don't even care to fact check, if you outright lie negatively about the host they'll believe it. I feel bad for the host and I hope she can move forward from this and not let these people get under her skin. They don't care about her at all after all. It's sad the community has degraded like this. Humanity actually.

Yes Egypt had lots of mixed cultures throughout its history like for example: Greeks, Romans and Arabs, but the Egyptian blood didn't mix and change that much and that's because for centuries we Egyptians had a golden tradition rule to marry our cousins, and that tradition is still present until now especially in Upper Egypt(from Assiut to Aswan), Although that tradition seems silly and bad from a scientific biological point of view, but that doesn't matter, silly or not we kept that tradition of marrying our cousins for centuries and that helped us to preserve our pure Egyptian blood not mixed as long as we could, and the result is what you see now and that is Modern Egyptians looks typical to their Ancient Egyptian Ancestors, just look at my skin color and Bassem Youssef's skin color we are almost the same although he is a Muslim who was born and lived in Cairo and I am a Coptic Christian who was born and lived in Luxor and there is almost a 1000 km distance between us, doesn't that tell you a thing or two about who Ancient Egyptians were and what they looked like? They've Actually been told why it's wrong for a while now and just ignore it. Cultural appropriation? It's been told to them. The bad songwriter? Also told to them. But they keep ignoring it. So they know what they're doing. If they didn't say anything before then I doubt they will now unless they get serious backlash.

as for the last part of your comment, thanks! you too! also, the only tip I can actually give you is to use references, like, if you wanna try to draw a cat walking, search up references and study them, it’s boring sometimes but it really helps! try also to search for anatomy guides, those are pretty helpful too!
Know what. There aren't enough positive comments. This map is BEAUTIFUL. The jewelry is limited but distinct. It especially lends well to leopardstar. Which makes sense considering she is the vocal point. Those backgrounds are also just mmmm so nice.

All fandoms are toxic. The main problem comes when a large group of fans (not the majority of them) start harassing others. The worst thing is that most of them do it because a famous creator on the community expressed their disagree with something/someone, and so they behave like sheeps, without really thinking about the topic they are discussing.

Honestly, I love the idea, and I don’t hate the map in any way whatsoever. It’s a beautiful creation, I just noticed a few tiny things that could be better and there was a little sketch shoved into one part-but otherwise, FLAWLESS.

the thing that kind of scares me about this map is the idea that this map could be copyright claimed, and have ads placed on it by youtube, giving money to the artist of the song
if this map is racist then so is every movie, show, etc. set in egypt written and produced by people who aren’t middle eastern. there’s a difference between making fun of ones culture and making art of ones culture. every middle eastern person in this comment section i’ve seen has no issues with this map at all, and it fits for the story, as well as the idea of egyptians worshipping cats which i think makes the map even better. ik some religious aspects were used which may be seen as offensive, however these artists worked super hard on their animations and asking them to take down the map is absolutely annoying and bothersome.. the death threats are even worse however, sending fucking death threats to a 14 yo who was just trying to have fun and host a map is terrible and even a crime. so please think before you speak, and remember to listen to people of the culture instead of making assumptions about the culture and what’s seen as offensive. Seriosly to everyone who is insulting this map and asking to take it down: Please stop, Maps take so long to edit and make and this clearly doesn't have the intention of being racist! If you are egyptian and you find this racist you can report it or whatever just don't write horrible comments! This map isn't supposed to be 100% accurate, it's clearly just based on the makeup and jewelry and I find it very interesting how they portray these chapters. I love how this au plays out, I find it hard to believe that no one in Riverclan would try helping stonefur, especially leopardstar and mistyfoot. It would have been really easy for a whole clan to stop 3 cats, yet they just watched stonefur be murdered. While this au doesn’t allow for the iconic death of stonefur, it would have definitely created an iconic scene if it was canon.

I want to say that i NEVER deleted any comments in the map call or here. (Only bot spam ones with adds)
I was “ignoring” people just because i don’t know english at all, and i use google translator for communication. I knew that some people were talking about some issue, but I couldn’t understand what it was. There is no articles or videos on my language that I could found about cultural appropriation.
About the main issue. I didn’t wanted to offend anyone. Me with my irl friends decided to do a map with river clan being in Ancient Egypt . I did only the script and some designs. I never wanted to offend or hurt anyone. I am going to be careful in the future. I am sorry for some people that got offended or hurt, because of it.
I think this is a good apology, a decent one - much better than ignoring everything that's happening. But I don't think others will accept it (they want blood I feel) and they'll want you to unlist/take down this vid.
If you can organize a multi month long project with several dozen people involved and like all the comments supporting you, then you can understand the poc complaining about this since last july. Take down the map.
Gonna also pop in and say that those who are accusing you of deleting comments may have had their comments reported to TH-cam and TH-cam deleted them- a lot of the stuff being said could fall under bullying and harassment. Honestly some of it is by definition harassment.

There were plenty of russian comments telling you about the whole issue about this map. Even if you didnt know english very well, you should at least have tried to translate everything and put 2 and 2 together. Hell, you didnt even need to do that. You should have just realised it yourself as a basic moral that it is not okay to take something from another culture and reduce it to jewelry and eyeliner. Dont pass the blame to your friends or anyone else. You posted the map call, held contact with the animators, and released the map with a full knowledge of what was happening. Take down this Map right now and never put it back up again. Same with that spotted×thistle one.
Egyptians used to worship cats. So in a way this map idea was honestly brilliant! I love the design of leopardstar and can't stop watching. This map is gorgeous!

Since the entire comment section is now filled with drama, arguing, and other stuff, I just want to say the animators did an amazing job and I am absolutely obsessed with the last shot! Plus the idea of Leopardstar being more of an honorable and just queen, rather than the prideful spoiled brat in the series, makes it so much better! The idea of a leader being more like royalty in riverclan is a really good idea, in the sense of an au where the clans are more different and unique than being cookiecut in the books.
I would like to see a bit more diversity but if you read super editions and novellas youll find some have more to them than expected. Like windclan used to make tunnels. The reason they dont now is bc the leader didnt want to lose more cats to tunnel collapses. Which is understandable but if there are cats who still want to do it bc they loved doing it. They should be allowed. I thought it was a really cool tradition and its a shame the leader let fear end it

As an egyptian I found this map really interesting, I don't feel offended. Designs are beautiful. We all make mistakes but this map was not even that big of a deal, the purpose was not to offend anyone. Damn. Reading through this I really understood how messed up some people are. Honestly, what do you mean, reducting a culture to just jewels and glyths? This is a short, rough animation made by people who aren't doing for a job, but for fun. What do you expect them do put in the goddamn animation? A history lesson? Detailed description and overly complicating things and making it even harder for them to complete this animation? They had a concept, a vision, and they created it. And that, darling, is beautiful and amazing.

Just freshly re-read that part in the book and it's really sad. This outcome would have been so strong. Even something like Graystripe stepping, Firestar joining and then RiverClan starting to step up too would have been nice.
Just wanna chime in and remind people that there is a difference between harmful appropriation and cultural appreciation. Let's not pull another Speedy Gonzalez and accuse people of making an Egyptian-themed AU of being racist just because it's set in Egypt.
Ask yourself honestly what makes an Egyptian setting racist. Because it's Egyptian? Because it's something other than white culture? That's not inherently racist. There are plenty of middle eastern people in the comments defending the MAP and you're going to tell them they should be offended? People from other cultures love seeing their cultures being represented in media. Latino representation is a good example. They love seeing elements of their culture being portrayed, so long as it's not done distastefully (and you know, outside of the obvious greedy cash grabs from people outside the culture).
Just because something isn't white-coded doesn't mean it's racist. Getting offended on behalf of someone else when they themselves enjoy the content is on you, not the creators.
They didn't intend to offend people in making this, and watching it myself I don't see any kinds of racist stereotypes. I just see cats in ancient Egyptian-inspired outfits. Are we going to say that other similar-themed AUs are racist for depicting different periods of dress or different settings around the world?
If middle eastern people are watching this and enjoying it then cool your jets. Quit assuming things are racist or problematic because they aren't white-coded.
EDIT: I also wanna add that cultural appropriation by definition is "adopting an element of a culture or identity by someone of a different culture or identity." Cultural appropriation occurs when you give a skewed or inaccurate perspective of that culture, when you reinforce negative stereotypes, or take credit for the element of the culture you've adopted. They just put the cats in Egypt. They weren't trying to make a statement on the middle east or represent them as harmful racial stereotypes. Again, listen to the actual middle eastern people in the comments who are telling everyone they have no issues with this video and that they themselves aren't offended.

In the end, Leopardstar stands up for herself. Aka becoming what Cleopatra was in life. She was more than a seductive lady,she was a bold leader who dominated over male counterparts not in love but in war. She was a FEIRCE WARRIOR,just like Leopardstar.

As a fan of character design and world building, I absolutely love this idea. To see warrior cat clans exist in different regions and time periods, let alone one so cat-focused as ancient Egypt, it opens up so much story-telling potential.
I love how everyone lost their shit over this masterpiece then like a day later everyone turned into “Guys listen to the Egyptian people and not the others” (which is a good thing) smh some people love to cause trouble.

I'm glad that people are defending the map host. This isn't cultural appropriation as far as I'm aware, they're just using Egyptian-inspired jewelry, wear, and makeup for an Egyptian-themed song :/ I would understand that it's cultural appropriation if there were, like, slaves in the background and other stereotypical stuff like that, but- cmon, y'all, this is just clothing and attire. No one is being hurt by thinking this is what Egyptian people wear

Everyone- I would like to make this clear. Most of you aren’t Egyptian, so you have no place to be offended. In fact, people who are Egyptian have stated that they love this map, so it is clearly not a big cultural offence to them. I know, the creator saying that they are a minor is a small, and very weak excuse, but with that aside, this is wonderful map, and everyone needs to just get over it.

Reminds me of the Sandstorm "I won't say I'm in love" MAP. That depicts Greek culture in a very basic way. My Greek boyfriend HATES that movie (Hercules) for how carelessly it handled his ancestors culture but he never gets up in arms because its PEOPLE HAVING FUN and it's art other people enjoy. I know he wouldn't have cared about that MAP being made cause NO ONE CARES. Actually so annoyed by this community being offended for doing something different for fun. Catch a grip guys.

I am Greek and tbh, I get where your boyfriend is coming from. I don’t really mind the movie, I just find it funny. Disney has a habit of doing those things and taking things from certain cultures for movie purposes (sorry if I said that wrong, Greek is my first language so if that doesint make sense, oops). But I don’t really mind Ancient Greek style maps because well, we dont really practice those religions anymore. Now, if you were doing something like assuming certain Christians worship so and so for this reason and it’s completely wrong, then that’s bad. But this map is just taking inspiration from an ancient time, my middle eastern friends have no problem with this map, so people who aren’t middle eastern have no say into what they find offensive and what they don’t.
Now that the drama seems to have reached less of a boiling point it needs to be reminded that if you are not in this case Egyptian that you can’t really decide if this is cultural appropriation due to it not being your culture. If any Egyptians find this to be appropriation then it most likely is, however the comments from actual Egyptians about this map seem to be quite positive. Also don't attack the participants of this map or call them racists it’s just highly disrespectful.

I think the situation was blown out of proportion. This is a really well made map and I love all of the designs, though I do think part of what caused the issue was the language barrier. But in the end this is still the product of many combined hours of hard work from many artists.

honestly as far as i'm aware, that's how it's always been. when i first read the books i remember joining amino and then i got into the animation side of things and basically everywhere i went it was either gatekeeping on amino, hating on amino, or hating on creators for one reason or another.

I love that gold jewelry was added to the bone pile. This is a detail that could have easily been overlooked, but it thankfully wasn’t. It makes this universe more believable and keeps you grounded in it. It is a much appreciated detail and makes this map more amazing than it already is. Also, showing Tigerclaw/star on screen whenever the deep voice comes on is another great addition to detail. This was well thought out. Amazing job!

First of all, most of the Americans who say this is racist aren’t even Egyptian. That means, you have no absolute right, under any circumstances, to say such things.! Its not your culture, your country, and Egyptians can speak up for themselves if they want to, we don’t have to do it for them, and they don’t even need speaking up for! I spent half an hour scrolling down comments and couldn’t find
one hateful comment that was from an Egyptian and, (I am American too) Americans aren’t special! We aren’t superior to any other person out country, we can’t even raise our livestock and harvest our crips properly! (please read The Omnivore’s Dilemma) You can’t do this!

Dude it is just antropomorphic characters in aesthetics of ancient Egypt a culture that has been fully replaced by people of completely different ethnicity. Plus cats were considered gods in ancient Egypt. Animators who draw antropomorphic characters don't see animals as slaves but as creatures from whom we can learn and they wish their senses were as sharp. Egyptian gods were antropomorphic characters. But it is hard to understand for Abrahamic religions to understand such thing.

I think there are parallels to Cleopatra and Leopardstar. Even the way they can be portrayed are similar (either as power-hungry and selfish or as compassionate and courageous). So I think it is a good choice, besides Leopardstar always reminded me of Egypt, even Riverclan can remind you of the Nile (they really relied on the river, just like riverclan). I think in this map Blackfoot is the real mvp since if he didn't stop, Leopardstar would just watch her subjects die.
Thats honestly why I grew to hate Leopardstar. She basically handed her clan over and did nothing to stop Tigerstar when he was clearly getting out of control and destroying everything

Unfortunately majority of this fandom is made up of people who live on the worst side of twitter. That is to say they will spread misinformation, bully, harass and slander all to fatten up their high horse. They want you to beg for forgiveness and even that isn't enough. They want blood, 90 percent of people here aren't even Egyptian. I think the majority care less about actually wanting respect for the culture than just wanting to be praised for putting down those who they vilify.
I admit the map isn't perfect, but it was literally made of harmless fun. And now people are calling the host racist? Bigoted? Saying they support a ship that they don't? Just lies all of it. They don't even care to fact check, if you outright lie negatively about the host they'll believe it.
I feel bad for the host and I hope she can move forward from this and not let these people get under her skin. They don't care about her at all after all. It's sad the community has degraded like this. Humanity actually.

I'm Egyptian, A COPTIC CHRISTIAN EGYPTIAN, I shout that out loud because we are the most pure blooded Egyptians out there and that's not only my opinion that's what Egyptologists, Historians and Scientists also agreed on , and I tell you that every word that Bassem Youssef said is right and I totally agree with him.
Yes Egypt had lots of mixed cultures throughout its history like for example: Greeks, Romans and Arabs, but the Egyptian blood didn't mix and change that much and that's because for centuries we Egyptians had a golden tradition rule to marry our cousins, and that tradition is still present until now especially in Upper Egypt(from Assiut to Aswan), Although that tradition seems silly and bad from a scientific biological point of view, but that doesn't matter, silly or not we kept that tradition of marrying our cousins for centuries and that helped us to preserve our pure Egyptian blood not mixed as long as we could, and the result is what you see now and that is Modern Egyptians looks typical to their Ancient Egyptian Ancestors, just look at my skin color and Bassem Youssef's skin color we are almost the same although he is a Muslim who was born and lived in Cairo and I am a Coptic Christian who was born and lived in Luxor and there is almost a 1000 km distance between us, doesn't that tell you a thing or two about who Ancient Egyptians were and what they looked like?

I’m seeing a lot of unnecessary hate on this MAP I don’t really see entirely how it’s racists or anything, since the actual Egyptians like it and why is it racist to be inspired off of Ancient Egypt when almost everything they did kicked off a lot of things in other cultures. The host and participants were just inspired off of the designs and fashions of ancient Egypt. They aren’t making fun of it they got inspired! There’s a difference! Instead of people yelling at this person for doing something that isn’t their culture and blah blah blah, They should be HAPPY that cultures are being included into the warriors fandom, as designs and maps. I’m not Egyptian, so I can’t really say anything but still. It’s nice that these sort of things are being included and we shouldn’t yell at people for trying to include them, even if it isn’t their culture. It’s a nice video and I can tell there was a lot of effort put into it.

All fandoms are toxic. The main problem comes when a large group of fans (not the majority of them) start harassing others. The worst thing is that most of them do it because a famous creator on the community expressed their disagree with something/someone, and so they behave like sheeps, without really thinking about the topic they are discussing.

the thing that kind of scares me about this map is the idea that this map could be copyright claimed, and have ads placed on it by youtube, giving money to the artist of the song
if this map is racist then so is every movie, show, etc. set in egypt written and produced by people who aren’t middle eastern. there’s a difference between making fun of ones culture and making art of ones culture. every middle eastern person in this comment section i’ve seen has no issues with this map at all, and it fits for the story, as well as the idea of egyptians worshipping cats which i think makes the map even better. ik some religious aspects were used which may be seen as offensive, however these artists worked super hard on their animations and asking them to take down the map is absolutely annoying and bothersome.. the death threats are even worse however, sending fucking death threats to a 14 yo who was just trying to have fun and host a map is terrible and even a crime. so please think before you speak, and remember to listen to people of the culture instead of making assumptions about the culture and what’s seen as offensive. Please stop, Maps take so long to edit and make and this clearly doesn't have the intention of being racist! If you are egyptian and you find this racist you can report it or whatever just don't write horrible comments! Words hurt harder then harmless actions like reporting a map or just ignoring something that bothers you! This map isn't supposed to be 100% accurate, it's clearly just based on the makeup and jewelry and I find it very interesting how they portray these chapters. Just stop attacking creators with horrible words and stupid comments that can make even more drama. This should end now and she/her/they have all rights to delete hateful comments.

I love how this au plays out, I find it hard to believe that no one in Riverclan would try helping stonefur, especially leopardstar and mistyfoot. It would have been really easy for a whole clan to stop 3 cats, yet they just watched stonefur be murdered. While this au doesn’t allow for the iconic death of stonefur, it would have definitely created an iconic scene if it was canon.
