    I have a 22-28 and with the box wedge and two men we produce 25 mins per cord 12-18” red oak again box wedge if we had a 6 or 8 way I’m sure it would have been quicker. Best machine on the market and well worth the investment

    When you have a fast splitter, the limiting factor is not the splitter. It's how fast you can get your firewood rounds to the splitter.

    I have the 22-28 with a 6 way. With rounds ready and another guy we can do 2 cord a hour without question. I had 3 guys and all rounds cut up and my mini skidsteer helping us feed the splitter and we did 2 cord a little under a hour. Yes this is a big splitter but it is a production monster. The rounds we split are 18" plus so we have to chase resplits and still no issues.

    Now, as you have said in a previous video you could crank up the pressure? in increasing the hydraulic pressure would that increase the cycle time? What exactly, in increasing the hydraulic pressure do for the machine? Saving the momma don't know money for one of those babies! I'm looking at the 5-11 or the 9-16. I love the speed on the Ultra; can you get the 5-11 or the 9-16 close to the cycle times on the Ultra? The reason to look at the 5-11 and 9-16 are the log lift and hydraulic adjustable wedge and down the road the box wedge. Love the videos love the interaction with your soon to be clients!

  • @wouldeyed1361
    @wouldeyed1361 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A dump trailer would all but put it on the rail if you were close enough, self feeding as well. I think the 22-28 is much faster in the push making the real world cycle time faster than the 12-22 even though it's faster with no load making the box wedge much more efficient on the larger machine. What your splitting has a lot to do with cycle times. Do wedges interchange between all machines?

    • @EastonmadeWoodSplitters
      @EastonmadeWoodSplitters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are right. The little bit you loose on the unloaded cycle vs the load cycle is negligible when you get into the bigger wedges. The wedges interchange on the 5-11/9-16/12-22. The 22-28 wedges a bit heavier.

    Those blocks were gravy train bundle grade, my favorite to split. Be nice if my suppliers could bring stuff like that all the time but like you said it was perfect case scenario. It does help having the staged blocks to be stacked as opposed in a pile.

    What is the weight and ease of moving the splitter? Can it be moved by hand or with a trailer dolly? That being said how heavy are the wedges looking at getting a unit just not sure what else I'll need to be able to move it.

    • @EastonmadeWoodSplitters
      @EastonmadeWoodSplitters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The splitter weighs 2200lbs. You can move it by had if it's hard packed and flat. The wedges are 100-200lbs depending on the wedge itself. An ATV is a little light for the hydraulic tank end, but it will manage. A side by side or small tractor works best. I have a powered trailer dolley that works well also.
