Perhaps if she went for inpatient treatment instead of running away it would be a different outcome. But life often does not turn out as a happy ending. This drama is at least honestly reflecting life instead of giving the audience a sweet ending for all.

And at the end of the drama there is a hint means Elisa and Xiang Qian have the relationship. All your confuse may because of the different culture.
