I am amazed that when you start a project, I think nah , then three videos in WOW! how did that happen, that is gorgeous! What a joyful pleasure to watch you create.
Wonderful job! Don’t go eat frustrated on draping your vessel form. Remember this is a beautiful experiment that we all love being inspired by and that’s a successful endeavor! Thank so much for sharing. ❤
I love watching your process and growth. You are an amazing artist with tons perseverance. I now find myself looking at fibers and plastic waste with different creative potential.
Love it❤ with going to Scandinavia, you might want to follow Jonna Jinton. I have watched her for years. Her camera action blows your mind, her singing and music from the ice in the lake during the winter is phenomenal . Plus she design's jewelry and paints also. If you visit Sweden you might want to visit her new store❤❤
Never fear Ariane, straight edges can be remedied by collaging fabric both under and over the edge and jolly well stitching it into submission. Can't wait to see.
Haha! Indeed!! Of course I want a "bowl" shape, so that introduces a whole new set of challenges, but in the next video you'll see my solution! I do say at one point, "don't panic, it's going to be okay!" and then it's a bit of a cliff hanger... but the video I'm shooting NOW is when I finally solve (I think) the problems... we will see. ❤️😂❤️
I just love those bouillon circles! And for some reason, I just love when you show your collections of threads on those adorable cardboard (?) holders (bobbins?). I’m a subscriber and look forward to my notifications, thanks for posting.
So glad you like the camera stand. Experiment with it - it’s very versatile and don’t forget to use the zoom on the camera. Yes, you have to set the phone in it so you’re not filming the camper stand which is different, but I’m really short and I can see the camera, so it’s just angles and zooms. The price is really coming along so well. Loving all the ideas, changes, colors and textures. I’m playing with locks and textures today while watching. 😊 Loki is SO adorable. Makes me want another kitten but no more animals in the house for now. 🤗❤️
Oh yes, the zoom feature, when you told me that before I didn't understand what you meant, but I just played around and see how that can really be helpful as well! I'm in the midst of such frustration with this piece and in the next video you'll see what I've done (it's radical!) but I still haven't figured it out yet. Not going to let this thing be the boss of me though. I'm determined!!❤️
Martha, may I ask which camera stand you suggested? I went through the comments on some previous videos of Arianne's but can't find it. I would be interested. Thanks!
It’s glorious Ariane. I think the camera angle was good from the first part of video. It’s great to have the close up of the stitching. I also like a panned back view for a while to get the larger picture. Interesting to experiment. I think my preference is for the close up mostly. But it is your video 😂 your choice. Thanks for showing more of your jewelry. 🎉
Such progress and so much stitching. I have missed that all of this time away. So comforting to hear the needle piercing the work and then the sound of it all [needle and thread] pulling back through...........it's such a "tactile sound"........it makes my Spirit hum. Your circles.........do you have a video where you show how to make those??? and the threads, where do you get those?? I remember you using them in times past, but the brand escapes me now. Thanks so much......loving this progress. Blessings Ariane
Hi Alice, tell me which circles are you referring to? Also the threads I love to use most and am using on this project have links in the description of this video, but they are The Thread Gatherer - Silken Perle, Stef Francis (everything! I love everything that they carry) but am using their perle cotton, silk throwster and bark, and Painters Threads, the #3 cotton as well as the #3 perle cotton. ❤
@@alicemoline698 ah yes, okay so that's the Painter's #3 soft cotton, link below. And the circles are my bullion circles, the video for how to make those is... oh my goodness, I never made a video for those! I will have to do that, but in the meantime, it's the exact same concept as these: th-cam.com/video/PwZetJMfzV8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=O8kbjIemnH-AjjT2
oooh... here's a thought... you say "couching's great coz you can couch anything you want"... and I thought, what if, instead of using a metal mesh on the inside to shape your vessel, you actually couched the wire on the outside, in a sort of spiderweb, so it's visible, a part of the art?
I’ve done that before! It’s really fun to use the wire on the outside! I’ve used colored wire, and thick and thin wire… it’s fun because there are so many wire possibilities out there. And once, I used some wire inside as well as outside, so I got structure from both, but was able to choose which wire I wanted to be showcased.
