It is shows like this that television is missing. ESPN used to have ISKA martial arts tournaments and such with brick breaking, weapon forms, and team katas, but now it's kickboxing matches.

I assure you it is not a fake. Aosaka Sensei is the head of the French Shorinji Kempo association, and the European Chief Instructor. He was All Japan Randori Champion for several years. He is personally known to me. If you buy any of the official Shorinji Kempo videos you/ll see him demonstrating several techniques. The short stick he used was given to him by the founder, So Doshin. He broke it recently.
The fact that the commentator is talking garbage is another matter.

@Chonoryokusha Well I grew up in india, where this symbol and word originated, and these two symbols are used interchangeably there. The only possible difference this can make is if you add any taoist aspect to this, but original usage wise they are the exact same.

I don't get why this has only got 2 stars, it's great!
And before you come up with stupid comments: I'ts a DEMO, it is not intended to look like a real fight so don't say "That doesn't work in a real fight".

@MrOtisJu just so you know manji=swastika exact same origin just manji is the japanese word and swastika is the sanskrit word. they mean the exact same thing. the direction of the rotation is used interchangedly and only recently they have started making the differentiation. but nevertheless use by the nazis does not make it a nazi symbol.

no mean of disrespect, Aosaka sensei's techniques look a bit influenced by other MAs. I heard rumors that he studied hapkido too in his early years in France. I respect his creativity but sometimes i dont see pure SK when he does things :D Unlike other overseas Grandmasters like Mizuno or Honbu Master like Fuji Sense or Yamasaki Sensei (my personal fav ever) whose techniques and styles are clean, less acrobatic but very fast and powerful. IMHO

Actually, the direction of the manji used in Shorinji Kempo means "peace", whereas the reversed direction used by the Nazis means "strength". So they are not actually the same.

it is not a mix of Karate, Aikido and Judo, Kempo is more into a mix of Chinese Kung Fu and Shaolin Warrior martial Art. Doshin So (Shorinji Kempo's Founder) learned these two. It is very popular in Japan, in fact many other martial arts "hijack" Kempo's Name

The word Kempo in Japanese is the equivalent to quánfǎ" in Chinese. Chinese fist. Byakuren Kaikan derives from Shorinji Kempo.
