my favorite artist not just for his work but because of his humanity and sensitivity to life.....Van Gogh is easily one of histories most important individuals
The Doctor: "I just wondered...between you and me, In 100 words...where do you think Van Gogh rates in the history of art?" Dr. Black: "Well...big question. But to me, Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly, the most popular great painter of all time. The most beloved. His command of colour, the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world...no one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange wild man who roamed the fields of Provence, was not only the world's greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived."
He didn't die of smoking in the last few months of his life when he was 37 he painted his last 12 paintings and the last one was named wheatfield with crows after he finished painting it he shot himself in the chest with a revolver.
the futility of life and the tragedy people bear ,he never sold a painting in his lifetime, and yet when he died each piece of his art is millions of dollars …
@@ken1midjourney each piece of art is divine…when an artist , painter,or writer create a work of art 🖼 he put his time , blood and soul in the work , it becomes a piece of himself within, it would be unfair , unjust to decide which is better than which…each piece has its own weight, colors, and interpretations..therefore our passing by eyes cannot give a true value judgement, we just react to the work of art according to our constantly unstable and changing moods moods … i like all his paintings though blue is my favorite color 😉
It would be nice to to see the entire painting for more than ONE HALF OF A SECOND (you know, to see the whole composition) before you turned a static image of contemplation into a cut up and animated moving picture.
In all fairness, my friend is dutch and when he says the name, the V in Van sounds more like an F sound, and the G sound in Gogh is more like an H, its nothing like how most Brits or Americans say it.
I do wonder what language this was translated from... strange English compositions/grammar/etc. after all, who says things like "the game of solids"??? that's not exactly English.
van GO !!!!! Dear Lord, when are Americans going to learn how to pronounce "Gogh" correctly ? There are many TH-cam videos educating people on this exact subject.

Once in a while, God would spit out one of the very freaks of nature. Of course, one of them was Vincent Van Gogh. That's a compliment from the world.
VANGO u GO sir!!! imagine if he lived till 90 ys. omgn!!!
You clearly don’t know much about Van Gogh. He DID sell a painting too, btw.
Vincent paid a few bar bills and some rent with some of his paintings. Theo managed to recover a few of them.

Someone didn't do their research
His early paintings were much darker and you did not even mention them. The Potato Eaters is a darker painting.
Please pronounce his name correctly.

Soo little??wtf
hm
His name isn't Van Go! It's pronounced Goch - guttural, or the harsher Van Gock - only Americans call him Go and it's totally illiterate!!!!
You're wasting your time ! It's so embedded in the US that it will be impossible to teach them how to pronounce it correctly.
@@williamsoens9973 Wonder what became of his siblings - Wash-n-Gogh and Max-Freis-to-Gogh?🤦😇

@@kathleenj01 the H sound is what I intended by the soft guttural sound, rather like we Scots pronounce 'loch'.
@@caroldonaldson5936 I'm Scots too, and it does sound closer to loch, kinda like hoch, but your right it's very gutteral.

I heard his career was actually ten years, not five.
The way Americans wrongfully pronounce his name, really gobbles my goat. Please have enough respect to pronounce his name correctly 😬😬😬😬
