The tourist board should see how they can revamp kakum national Park and get a standard restaurant and probably decent hotel there and reconstruct the road to that location .

It might not be where we are from, but it as if when you lose something.....you trace your steps back trying to find it. THIS IS WHAT WE ARE DOING WITH GHANA. it is the port of entrance.

I don’t agree with ms Barbara, it’s a solemn and reflective grounds, there’s no need for dancing

I personally think cape coast castle should have a staged drama of how things went down in the castle as in a short movie before or after the exhibition of the castle. It will give them some level of spiritual breakdown and connect with their ancestors. It’s should t be only the exhibit alone. All throngs been equal we welcome our fellow kings n queens from the diaspora. Jae Lion 🦁 Chengdu China

Hey Barbara.. The Cape coast castle is not a place for entertainment. Most of these welcoming drumming and dancing took place immediately they step on the ground at the airport.... There are videos on TH-cam... Go watch and stop the ignorance. Why we always want to find fault in everything we do.

Yeboah Patrick : if they had done what she was saying she would said it is a waste of state money. The exhibition suggestion is not a bad idea though

Interesting comments between African Americans who see the place as solemn and Barbara from Ghana who has no strong connection to slavery as African Americans experienced it sees it as a tour to play drums and dance but African Americans see it as a spiritual experience. She needs to read her history and know it’s not time for fun and dancing but a time for reflection for most. How their ancestors were processed, went to America as slaves and how racism in America has not treated them well to civil rights movements to even racism still today in America. She has no connection so I don’t blame her!

Barbara what are you talking about? They were already welcomed with the drumming and dancing at the airport. What’s fun again about an emotional place like that Cape Coast castle???

There should be structured programmes.Tour buses to take attendants in groups from the dungeons to the Assin manso river and all area significant to the slave trade. There should be a host psychologist to prepare tourists the impact example- overwhelming, sorrow expect to be teary especially if children are involved. Faith room or chaplaincy should be built on site and bereavement specialists /counselling services to be made available for tourists who want support to offload after the experience.
Pubs/Canteen/catering services should be considered. Hostels to be built for those who want to sleep over and tour the whole town or cities near by the dungeons. Mini markets to sell Artefacts and souvenirs to tourist as gifts for those family members who could not visit. There should be a project management team for all the slave dungeons in the country and similar activities held in other parts not only cape coast to ensure employment in other regions. Organised tourist programmes from Northern region "slave market " to "Assin Manso river" for last bath before the journey.
History of cocoa production starting from Mampong in Eastern Region. Make Ghana valuable and worth tourists hard earned money.
Ghana tourists board , museums & library authorities and acqua marines and infrastructure project management teams should place this as a priority going forward beyond Ghana's year of return. Tap into the knowledge of renowned architects like Sir David Adjaye.
    Please this is my humble
feedback. God bless Ghana and Africa.

Do you see the disconnection between Africans and the history of the Enslavement of AA. Barbara needs a lot of education. The CAPE COAST Dungeon is a place of pilgrimage and reflection to the suffering and dehumanization of our ancestors on both sides. It's not a place for drumming, but a place for spiritual ceremonies. The history of enslavement of the African people need to be urgently taught in schools all over Africa. The African education curriculum needs to be changed.

But if government decided to build a museum like they have done in senegal, ppl will scream waste of money & lack of priorities. Senegal spent millions to build the Renaissance statue & they are getting money from tourism. In Ghana we just don't see our potential. Imagine if this castle was in Senegal, they would develop so much around it, like the pyramids in Egypt
