The lesser known connection, while I haven't fully watched it is how that name fully connects with Islam. Muahamads daughter is of course named Fatima. This holds greater implications than imagined. In Islams "prophecies" they believe in a savior figure called the "mahdi". This mahdi is decedent from the blood line of his daughter Fatimah. The mahdi they say rules from Israel for 7 years, just like the Antichrist does. So. yes. The connection goes really deep.
A few points: -Church and state in Russia aim to the Byzantine notion of "symphonia", where church and state complement each other rather than one seeking do dominate the other. -Russians as people and as a culture are actually quite hostile to the concept of the state interfering in their lives, but are certainly supportive of it as a unifying and consolidating force of resources and society. -While Russians could be considered somewhat more "collectivist" in their disposition, this should be viewed more as an elevation of the value of the communal. Family and neighbours occupy a more publicly important position when compared with the highly atomised and individualistic West, something most Russians regard as decadent and egoistic. -The Russian Orthodox Church occupies in the view of Russians, with the self-identification as the "Third Rome" once more ascendant as a political ideology, is in many ways more conservative on the face of it when compared with post-Vatican II Catholicism (not talking about the infallible teachings of the Church, only the outward appearance of some such as the approach of many Catholic churches to the liturgy, homosexuals, etc.). This complicates the point bringing the Russian church back into communion with the Pope. -There is also a state agenda to contrast the new Russia's traditional values and moral conservatism with Western degeneracy, self-contempt, and decline. This is exacerbated by the pre-existing fear of Western Christianity (Catholicism and Protestantism) as either themselves imperialistic, or soft-power tools of states that are imperialistic and seeking to undermine the cohesion of Russia. (Alexander Nevsky's battles against the Swedes and Teutonic Order during the Northern Crusades are still widely taught and remembered.) -Being the "Third Rome", the ROC identifies itself as the most authoritative among Orthodox churches, and there does seem to be some hint of a concept of the ROC succeeding the role of Constantinople by virtue of being the "Third Rome". In effect, to bring the Moscow Patriarch into communion under the Pope in Rome would be to forfeit this privileged position. -When Putin refers to Orthodoxy and Islam being closer in some ways, then yes, church and state are integrlly linked (again, the Byzantine symphonia), conservative values, etc. But one should also be careful with reading too much into this statement, because it is part of an effort of national consolidation. While the Orthodox church is the undisputed most important religion in Russia, it is important for the Russian authorities to encourage the Muslim population to identify with the Russian federal state as well. Ramzan Kadyrov's Chechnya is a good example of this effort. (He is allowed to run his own ultra-conservative "Islamic Republic" as an autonomous republic within the Russian Federation. -A little unsure what the point is in remarking upon the fact that former communists and KGB assumed positions of authority in post-communist Russia. They were in the best positions to do so. What is remarkable is that the US didn't do a better job in their, what were still, aggressive attempts at installing a pro-West client regime in Moscow. All the same, my hope and prayer is that Russia will be converted, and that it will bring fresh strength and impetus to the Holy Catholic Church.

Not surprised that the US had no affect on internal conditions within Russia after perestroika. Russians never experienced capitalist economic expansion. Bud W I prefer the Holy Rosary to the self-centred Jesus Prayer for the simple reason that the Mother of God herself exhorts us to pray it. You can still pray the Jesus Prayer, as I do, but the Holy Rosary, which has several different forms, has everything the Jesus Prayer does with the bonus of being Marian.

Thank you for this excellent, excellent talk! Everything fits together for me now. Thank you for giving me hope. My prayer focus will primarily be for the Pope to consecrate Russia because that is the key to world peace. I have always prayed for this intention but I will do it with more fervour now. I understand that there will be suffering until Russia is consecrated but at least, now, I have a long-range hope for the world.

When I harken back to Our Lady's words "....if not, Russia will spread her errors throughout the world" I think of N Korea. If Russia had been converted as Our Lady desired, that nation would not have been in a position to embrace and school Kim Il Sung, the first leader of Communist North Korea. Leonardo's Truth. Pope Pius XII did NOT consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the bishops of the world. On October 31, 1942, he consecrated the world to her Immaculate Heart. The subject of the consecration was the world...not Russia. So NO consecration. In 1952 Pope Pius XII issued an Apostolic Letter which included a consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. However, that is NOT what Our Lady requested. She requested a solemn consecration together with the bishops of the world. What the popes have done is better than nothing; but none of the halfway measures fulfill Our Lady's request. Russia has yet to be solemnly consecrated by the pope in union with the bishops of the world. Then, Russia will convert and we will witness the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The fall of Russian Communism does not equal peace. Besides, the errors of Russia include much more than only the economic system of Communism. The errors of Russia include no-fault divorce, abortion, selfishness, godlessness, deceit, force, greed, immorality, to name a few.

Fuentes: "Many times, the Blessed Virgin Mary told me and my cousins Jacinta and Francisco that Russia is the instrument of chastisement chosen by Heaven to punish the whole world (for its sins) unless we obtain beforehand the conversion of that poor nation.” Father Gruner wrote: "Unless we obtain the conversion of Russia, Russia will dominate the whole world. Russia will enslave the whole world unless we have this consecration. On the other hand, Russia will be an instrument of blessing for the whole world if it is consecrated. By being blessed, being consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, it becomes an instrument in Her hands to bring peace to the whole world. There is no third alternative to this request." Father goes on in another place to point out that it is not difficult to fathom some of the reasons for which God should have chosen this means of securing the coming triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart: "The errors of Russia have been imported into Russia, for the most part, from outside. Holy Mother Russia has been desecrated by these errors. Just as you might have a cathedral which is desecrated by someone from outside it entering it to commit a crime therein. This happened in New York City a few years ago when St. Patrick’s Cathedral was desecrated by a murder being committed in it. The local Cardinal - I think it was Cardinal Cooke or his successor - rededicated, re-consecrated St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York to the service of God. A great crime has been committed in Russia by Satanists and enemies of God bringing in Communism and using the people and the resources of Russia to fight God around the world. This is a great crime and God has laid down His conditions for an act of reparation, which is to rededicate, re-consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary." Sister Lucy has also pointed out that in contrast to a consecration of the world, the consecration of Russia will be an apt means of bringing the grace of conversion to souls all around the world. Being a well-defined territory, Russia will stand out after its consecration as a sign of Our Lady's promised graces and triumph. When the consecration of that specific country is accomplished and people see the change that Our Lady has wrought in Russia, they will recognize its conversion as an effect of the consecration, and therefore as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart. Learning about this Roman Catholic Fatima Eschatology is kind of liberating. I'm attracted to it because it is a distant eschatology rather than the imminent "rapture" eschatology that is so prominent among many Evangelicals and is becoming more and more tiresome to me. All my life I have been taught that the so called "Rapture" (a word never used in the Bible) is just around the corner. I have always had a problem with this "two stage" second coming theology. Jesus refers to his second coming as "THE coming of the son of man." Sounds like he is describing ONE second coming, not TWO second comings divided by seven years of tribulation. Plus it is a new doctrine that was never believed by any Christian until the early 19th century.
We call it the second coming because He has already came once. But its not an actual return to earth..the bible says we will rise to meet Him in the air, the dead first, then all those who are alive and remain. This is in the bible, we call it the rapture, because thats what the original language called it. Please remember that a man that has put his hand to the plow, and leaves, is not worthy to enter the Kingdom. Dont be deceived, He is returning for us, we know this, it is our blessed hope. Dont get caught up in when where, the tribulation, how many years, and all that. Everybody has differing opinions on some of those details, because the bible is not clear, or we dont yet understand all of those details. But that is not whats important, being ready is. Remember the devil is fighting for your soul, for all of our souls, he does all he can to confuse, and cause chaos. It is the last days. We do know this

You can’t just hope between new and Old Testament, after hacking away half a dozen books during the reformation, and come at a sound doctrine. Revelation 13:5 - The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months.(aka 3 and a half years) The WOMAN adorned with the sun, the moon, and the stars (images taken from Gn 37:9-10) symbolizes God’s people in the Old and the New Testament. The Israel of Old gave birth to the Messiah (Rev 12:5) and then became the new Israel, the Catholic Church, which suffers persecution by the dragon (Rev 12:6, 13-17); cf. Is 50:1; 66:7; Jer 50:12.
There so many errors in this analysis which I will point out at a later point in them when I have the time but for now I can say this-the main problem with this analysis is you are treating Russia and the Soviet Union as the same country. They aren’t. The Soviet Union was funded and launched from and by New York.

The lesser known connection, while I haven't fully watched it is how that name fully connects with Islam. Muahamads daughter is of course named Fatima. This holds greater implications than imagined. In Islams "prophecies" they believe in a savior figure called the "mahdi". This mahdi is decedent from the blood line of his daughter Fatimah. The mahdi they say rules from Israel for 7 years, just like the Antichrist does. So. yes. The connection goes really deep.
A few points:
-Church and state in Russia aim to the Byzantine notion of "symphonia", where church and state complement each other rather than one seeking do dominate the other.
-Russians as people and as a culture are actually quite hostile to the concept of the state interfering in their lives, but are certainly supportive of it as a unifying and consolidating force of resources and society.
-While Russians could be considered somewhat more "collectivist" in their disposition, this should be viewed more as an elevation of the value of the communal. Family and neighbours occupy a more publicly important position when compared with the highly atomised and individualistic West, something most Russians regard as decadent and egoistic.
-The Russian Orthodox Church occupies in the view of Russians, with the self-identification as the "Third Rome" once more ascendant as a political ideology, is in many ways more conservative on the face of it when compared with post-Vatican II Catholicism (not talking about the infallible teachings of the Church, only the outward appearance of some such as the approach of many Catholic churches to the liturgy, homosexuals, etc.). This complicates the point bringing the Russian church back into communion with the Pope.
-There is also a state agenda to contrast the new Russia's traditional values and moral conservatism with Western degeneracy, self-contempt, and decline. This is exacerbated by the pre-existing fear of Western Christianity (Catholicism and Protestantism) as either themselves imperialistic, or soft-power tools of states that are imperialistic and seeking to undermine the cohesion of Russia. (Alexander Nevsky's battles against the Swedes and Teutonic Order during the Northern Crusades are still widely taught and remembered.)
-Being the "Third Rome", the ROC identifies itself as the most authoritative among Orthodox churches, and there does seem to be some hint of a concept of the ROC succeeding the role of Constantinople by virtue of being the "Third Rome". In effect, to bring the Moscow Patriarch into communion under the Pope in Rome would be to forfeit this privileged position.
-When Putin refers to Orthodoxy and Islam being closer in some ways, then yes, church and state are integrlly linked (again, the Byzantine symphonia), conservative values, etc. But one should also be careful with reading too much into this statement, because it is part of an effort of national consolidation. While the Orthodox church is the undisputed most important religion in Russia, it is important for the Russian authorities to encourage the Muslim population to identify with the Russian federal state as well. Ramzan Kadyrov's Chechnya is a good example of this effort. (He is allowed to run his own ultra-conservative "Islamic Republic" as an autonomous republic within the Russian Federation.
-A little unsure what the point is in remarking upon the fact that former communists and KGB assumed positions of authority in post-communist Russia. They were in the best positions to do so. What is remarkable is that the US didn't do a better job in their, what were still, aggressive attempts at installing a pro-West client regime in Moscow.
All the same, my hope and prayer is that Russia will be converted, and that it will bring fresh strength and impetus to the Holy Catholic Church.
Well said. I think all chance for reconciliation between Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholicism went out the window when the Vatican converted to Lutheranism in the 1960s.

Bud W I prefer the Holy Rosary to the self-centred Jesus Prayer for the simple reason that the Mother of God herself exhorts us to pray it. You can still pray the Jesus Prayer, as I do, but the Holy Rosary, which has several different forms, has everything the Jesus Prayer does with the bonus of being Marian.

Giuseppe, nella sua piccolezza, non sa che il mistero si compie proprio perché Dio scende nell’abisso che lo separa dall’uomo, e per parlare agli uomini dall’interno della loro vita la sua stessa Parola, il Verbo eterno, si fa uomo nel seno di Maria!
E allora vorrebbe ritirarsi dal progetto di Dio, senza far rumore, e al tempo stesso dovrebbe sciogliersi dal patto nuziale con Maria, la prescelta del Signore, come se anche lei improvvisamente diventasse per lui una persona irraggiungibile e inaccessibile, come Dio stesso.
Non si è chiesto che cosa avverrà di lei dopo, né come potrà sopravvivere con quel suo misterioso bambino non ancora visibile, non perché è superficiale o non gli importa di Maria, ma proprio perché sa che lei appartiene a Dio. When I harken back to Our Lady's words "....if not, Russia will spread her errors throughout the world" I think of N Korea. If Russia had been converted as Our Lady desired, that nation would not have been in a position to embrace and school Kim Il Sung, the first leader of Communist North Korea. Leonardo's Truth. Pope Pius XII did NOT consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary with the bishops of the world. On October 31, 1942, he consecrated the world to her Immaculate Heart. The subject of the consecration was the world...not Russia. So NO consecration. In 1952 Pope Pius XII issued an Apostolic Letter which included a consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. However, that is NOT what Our Lady requested. She requested a solemn consecration together with the bishops of the world.
What the popes have done is better than nothing; but none of the halfway measures fulfill Our Lady's request. Russia has yet to be solemnly consecrated by the pope in union with the bishops of the world. Then, Russia will convert and we will witness the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The fall of Russian Communism does not equal peace. Besides, the errors of Russia include much more than only the economic system of Communism. The errors of Russia include no-fault divorce, abortion, selfishness, godlessness, deceit, force, greed, immorality, to name a few.

Like St. Paul, who was once the Church's worst persecutor, Russia is a vessel of election chosen by God, as Sister Lucy explained to Fr. Fuentes: "Many times, the Blessed Virgin Mary told me and my cousins Jacinta and Francisco that Russia is the instrument of chastisement chosen by Heaven to punish the whole world (for its sins) unless we obtain beforehand the conversion of that poor nation.”
Father Gruner wrote: "Unless we obtain the conversion of Russia, Russia will dominate the whole world. Russia will enslave the whole world unless we have this consecration. On the other hand, Russia will be an instrument of blessing for the whole world if it is consecrated. By being blessed, being consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, it becomes an instrument in Her hands to bring peace to the whole world. There is no third alternative to this request."
Father goes on in another place to point out that it is not difficult to fathom some of the reasons for which God should have chosen this means of securing the coming triumph of Our Lady's Immaculate Heart: "The errors of Russia have been imported into Russia, for the most part, from outside. Holy Mother Russia has been desecrated by these errors. Just as you might have a cathedral which is desecrated by someone from outside it entering it to commit a crime therein. This happened in New York City a few years ago when St. Patrick’s Cathedral was desecrated by a murder being committed in it. The local Cardinal - I think it was Cardinal Cooke or his successor - rededicated, re-consecrated St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York to the service of God. A great crime has been committed in Russia by Satanists and enemies of God bringing in Communism and using the people and the resources of Russia to fight God around the world. This is a great crime and God has laid down His conditions for an act of reparation, which is to rededicate, re-consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary."
Sister Lucy has also pointed out that in contrast to a consecration of the world, the consecration of Russia will be an apt means of bringing the grace of conversion to souls all around the world. Being a well-defined territory, Russia will stand out after its consecration as a sign of Our Lady's promised graces and triumph. When the consecration of that specific country is accomplished and people see the change that Our Lady has wrought in Russia, they will recognize its conversion as an effect of the consecration, and therefore as a triumph of the Immaculate Heart.

Learning about this Roman Catholic Fatima Eschatology is kind of liberating. I'm attracted to it because it is a distant eschatology rather than the imminent "rapture" eschatology that is so prominent among many Evangelicals and is becoming more and more tiresome to me. All my life I have been taught that the so called "Rapture" (a word never used in the Bible) is just around the corner. I have always had a problem with this "two stage" second coming theology. Jesus refers to his second coming as "THE coming of the son of man." Sounds like he is describing ONE second coming, not TWO second comings divided by seven years of tribulation. Plus it is a new doctrine that was never believed by any Christian until the early 19th century.
We call it the second coming because He has already came once. But its not an actual return to earth..the bible says we will rise to meet Him in the air, the dead first, then all those who are alive and remain. This is in the bible, we call it the rapture, because thats what the original language called it.
Please remember that a man that has put his hand to the plow, and leaves, is not worthy to enter the Kingdom.
Dont be deceived, He is returning for us, we know this, it is our blessed hope.
Dont get caught up in when where, the tribulation, how many years, and all that.
Everybody has differing opinions on some of those details, because the bible is not clear, or we dont yet understand all of those details.
But that is not whats important, being ready is.

There so many errors in this analysis which I will point out at a later point in them when I have the time but for now I can say this-the main problem with this analysis is you are treating Russia and the Soviet Union as the same country.
