You put your time in brother, well deserved and great pivot move! Always pursue your dreams, be open to change--totally right Mark, and never give up and NEVER settle for a job you're unhappy with. ONward and UPward!!
Thanks for the video. I’ve struggled with the fact that I’m not a “full time cartoonist” but I need a certain income and security to provide for my family. It seems that you are happy with having a day job and still doing your caricatures during the day.
Thanks so much for commenting. Being a full-time cartoonist is very difficult. I’m not saying it cannot be done but you got a hustle every day. I believe in you. Yes when I draw at Caricature Events, it is just a hobby, but I treat it with all my energy. I really love it as you know. My day job is important because of all the benefits in the time I have invested there. I’ve been there almost 26 years so I have to stick it out. Hope this video helps.
@@cartoonmark75 You’re welcome! I appreciate your openness on your videos. Thank you, I think the benefits of cartooning part time is that it doesn’t take the fun out of it. I’m glad your job has worked out so long as well, especially the face that you have time to work on your craft.
Thanks for sharing this video on pivoting. How do I go from 20 years of IT desktop support to something less stressful in the same field? That's a good question to consider.
Less stressful is the key. You got that right. Maybe you have people that you have to call when you are unsure maybe start with their positions or a lateral type move very tricky but it can be done. Start putting some feelers out there. It will happen for you. I’m sure stay positive. thanks so much for watching.
