  • Along with "tiny houses", a glamping site and a convenience store, Singapore's Lazarus Island will have a water sports facility where visitors can take part in stand-up paddling, kayaking, water-biking and yoga on Eagle's Bay, the island's horseshoe bend-shaped beach. Please please stop developing. The charm of Lazarus island it's is tranquility and waters. Humans usually destroy such beauty. Its a place where people get away from the crowds. Keep it that way. That island only needs more shower and toilet facilities. THAT'S IT. NO Glamping, NO luxury hotels WHATEVER. That place is perfect for wild camping/fishing and people who love peace and quiet. Enough with further development. You want hotels and glamping, DO IT AT SENTOSA.

Provide more spaces for outdoor camping to unwind and to be more adventurous. Singapore lack such areas, besides Pulau Ubin.

Yes I totally agree... 😢 I loved coming here when it was just an empty clean beach and no crowds.. With these new developments and activities, this beach will no longer be peaceful and empty.. I hope the beach stays clean..

Wow.. I hope they don’t overdevelop it. One of the charms of Lazarus and St John is that you can’t readily buy stuff on the island and you only bring as much as you need.. Now with the convenience store the trash problem is bound to get worse. But then I guess everything has to be capitalized and developed in singapore. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Went there to stay at the Tiny Away. It is very peaceful after the last ferry for the day left the island- with less than 10 human and a couple of dogs.
My boy can actually run on the pavement without having to look out for PMA and bicycles. It also give him an opportunity to explore the nature- having meals with butterflies flying around us, worms and snails crawling on the ground.

I would suggest purposed build sea wall with human planted hard and soft corals. A Scuba Dive center with equipment rental to provide Scuba Certifications to teach more Singaporeans about Marine environment and conservation. Ferry service with regular schedules and prebook (online) capabilities.

Since I live in Singapore I asked myself why these islands are not used, for tourism and culture for example? Tropical islands with wonderful beaches, and city-life just a hop over to the mainland, where would you get that?
But ... rubber floats and putting up containers, and then call this ecotourism?

Not sure about now but in the 70s and 80s Indonesian pirates used some of these islands as their base of operation. Heard from some retired coastguards that some used these small islands were used to smuggle contraband and illegals into SG. My guess now the SG coastguard and navy are more developed and can cover the security of these islands so they open up for tourist.

Seems nothing much to do in this island. I guess this is the place that you might visit once in 5 or maybe 10 years. Should have turned this island into one of those resort islands in Maldives, or at least similar. Just let the experts to take over the whole development without any restriction and turn this island into a world class must visit place. Seriously, I’m not going to visit this island just because they have a convenient store!! Singapore government needs to think big and stop making those tiny so-called places-of-interest projects. Unless they do not mind tourists calling Singapore a boring place to visit.

Developing a largely untouched island into yet another Sentosa-lite with the same activities like stand-up paddling, yoga, and ball games. On top of that putting a convenience store that promotes consumerism and potentially a major source of litter. You do all this in the name of protecting the environment? Sounds like a useless waste of land and extremely counter-productive to the supposed ecological aims. Would it have been better off it is was just another park?

For some who burn peats and forests every year creating nuisance, haze and ecological disasters to the whole region you have a thick hide to condemn others before people come for you first.

Apa yang Singapura buat tiada kena mengena dengan negara kamu tetapi apa yang negara kamu buat dua negara lain terpalit juga. Tak tahu malukah menuduh orang di negara lain macam-macam.
