I'm 33 and have got arthritis myself. I've had my left shoulder completely replaced The pain and flair ups are unbelievably painful. I can no longer do my career as a plumber as I can't even lift my arm above my shoulder, 8 year olds have more strength than me now. I'm a kickboxing instructor and I've had to quit that too now. It's good to see others knowing a little more about it. The painkillers only take the edge off too #versusarthritis
I totally feel for you, I'm 36 now, I don't have arthritis, and I know it's not the same, but I have lived many years now with Fibromyalgia, and the pain from that is awful too, never knowing if tomorrow is a good day or not! I hope you find a way to come to terms with living with the pain, and can make the most of life, the best way you can x Also you are right about painkillers, my body is so use to mine now, that I'm lucky if it touches the edges, the doctor suggested reducing how many I take so they work better, but they are also the things that can keep me awake, so when I reduce them I spend more time asleep anyway....... Vicious circle x
I'm 32 and have Psoriatic Arthritis about 6 years now - diagnosed 9 months after my little boy was born. Its been hell - but thankfully I've found what works for me. Never give up xxx
I’m 14 I’ve got arthritis (jia) I’ve had arthritis since I was eleven just came off of injections for about a month now and days have looked better but I’m strong and for anyone struggling to take their medication talk to your consultant wish everyone the best of luck xxx
It's nearly 40 years since I was diagnosed with RD and the damage done to my joints makes it visible. But people still wouldn't know what level of pain and fatigue I feel from day to day. Even I can't predict what the next hour let alone day will bring. I still consider myself blessed to have had the first 17 years of my life as healthy and pain free, plus have 3 children. People moan about the NHS but ,apart from my family and faith, it's kept me going and I really appreciate it.
I’m almost 17 and I’ve had arthritis since I was 11. It’s a horrible disease and defiantly needs more awareness! I love that these campaigns are starting a conversation & I would love to see a advert about a child with arthritis as I don’t think any of the ads show this properly❤️
It breaks my heart when I hear or see anyone , as I have in my back and hands as jenny said having to ask for help it's makes you feel so depressed , but sadly life gos on , so to everyone out there that has got this keep your chin up all we can do 💕 x
It's an illness that isn't obvious to many folks. I have it in neck, lumbar and joints. The most frustrating thing about it is, you may be willing to go on as you used to, but the limitations remind you that you cannot. Sometimes when asking for help you feel you are being a nuisance. I can't keep up as fast with my garden these days but the council is fast to let you know they will charge you for sending gardeners in if you don't get it sorted!! I'm also 72 now. Guess what I thought!!!
I’m 40 and was diagnosed with arthritis at the age of 33. I have it in my neck, spine, hands, right knee and left foot. The pain is sometimes unbearable and affects my life as well as that of my children some days. Watching Jenny cry was heartbreaking but I know just how she feels!
I'm 30and I've had arthritis since I was 17, it effects my whole life. It's stripped me of my youth, I feel pain like alot of chronic pain everyday. And the worst thing about being young with a invisible illness is the way people assume I am OK. Like Pete said she's young with arthritis. It can happen to alot of people, it makes me feel worthless and what's my purpose I can't do anything!!!! I hate this disease and my hands are crooked and painful, it doesn't just effect the bones. It's blood, immune system, kidneys and all sorts. I always have blood problems and I spend most of my time having to go back to bed. That is not what I want for my life. I want to take my kids for a long walk, climb a mountain, ride a bicycle, when my friends go camping I stay home. I have to be helped to even dress. Too sit and cry because you can't even peel a potato. I mean too me the pain can only be described as when you break a bone, but allover your body in one hit. And the fatigue is ridiculous, I get so dizzy I faint of exhaustion. Good luck with explaining arthritis to people I hope now they can acknowledge younger people get sick too xx two things have stuck on my mind, 1) I was told I had to move from the disabled place on the bus for someone who was ill and not just lazy. That day I had just had my knees drained of fluid and they stung to stand up and people just expecting me to move. 2) I was on hospital as I am every month for my Infusions and a old lady said to me, its nothing getting old enjoy it whilst you can. This old lady seemed more fitter and active than me and I was crying after she said that. Enjoy it. I had literally just seen the nurse about my depression. #versesarthritis
Rachie sherlock my thoughts are with you I have arthritis in my spine I stood up on a bus for the complete journey in agony while a young mum sat down I was crippled up the next day!if only these people could walk in are shoes for a day they would not be so quick too judge! Take care and best wishes xxx
@@sandrawilliams7318 you too best wishes. The disease is cruel but people too can be cruel. Xxx thanks for saying hello, as I wrote this I lay in bed about to tackle getting up and I know I shouldn't but I just want to cry xx
Rachie sherlock you are welcome I’m in a state today ache so much took all my effort to get out of bed only fellow sufferers can really know how we feel I hope you have someone who understands don’t let the harshness of others get you down unfortunately there are people out there who judge or make fun of suffering pay no mind to them there is support out there and people who genuinely care🤗sending you a big virtual hug xxx
@@sandrawilliams7318 aww I'd send you a virtual gig straight back. I feel like my own husband doesn't understand my pain, but I'm coping ish...... Xx have a nice day then
As a young person with an invisible illness and daily pain, I totally feel for you. I am 36 now and have been suffering from my problems for 22 years now. I drive and have a blue badge, but the looks you get from some people, especially the elderly, as if you can't use disabled spaces as you aren't 'old'. I couldn't see it when I was younger, but dealing with what I have has shaped me into a much better person. Don't be afraid to tell people the truth, don't hide the thing that you live with, but refuse to let control you! Good luck in moving forward in life and remember to think on all the positives of your life, it will help towards keeping you going!
I have arthritis and osteoarthritis and it’s the worst pain imaginable. I’ve also got osteoporosis in my hands. I’m only 28 but feel so much older. I can’t open bottles, do up my own coat. I’ve dropped scalding water on myself due to my hands not working due to the arthritis and osteoporosis. The little tasks seemed like a marathon at times
