infrared laser on the gut can greatly assist with PD symptoms - essentially increasing SCFAs, stimulating the gut-brain axis, improving digestion, and possibly lifting dopamine. We are doing research on photobiomodulation/laser therapy on PD and also on IBD in Australia and Canada.

Why are many neurologists who claim they can help Parkinson's patients never discuss many problems outside of physical movements.? Many only discuss skeletal muscles,,!!

For constipation, try a portion of sweet potato, once a day. Boiled, microwaved or roasted. Leave the skin on if it's clean and unblemished. Sweet potato plus adequate water intake works really well for me.

A simple trick that makes the stool come out easily is to lubricate the passage with a soaped finger or KY gel

A difficult and dangerous problem that can also arise after a duration of constipation is impaction. After several days of nothing working impaction may occur, in which stool can get stuck. This is a very painful situation difficult to remove, especially if you don’t have a caregiver, but must be removed. So it’s best to avoid with stool softeners or Mirilax or even laxative if possible. Once impacted living alone, relief can be and becomes a nightmare or an ambulatory situation. This happened to me while taking pain pills and took two days for me to unblock: an embarrassing situation I don’t like thinking about but wanted to prevent happening to anyone else if possible. I think Parkinson’s slows our complete dietary system, those living alone as I do with combined systems, it can really get ahead of and create this situation, so it felt wrong not to admit this awful situation I found myself in a year ago. Please be aware this can happen and try to prevent it. I passed out several times during the process of clearing this.

Good information! On my TH-cam channel we're discussing the connection between the Microbiome and Lymph System. Walking moves neurotransmitters to Lymph nodes and the brain.

I choke on my saliva. Embarrassing. I hate eating hamburger or mince meat because I often choke on "a" piece, badly. Rice is the same issue.

Really, changing your diet is key and could help you live a longer healthier life but instead they want you reliant on only prescriptions. She has good info but bad advice on diet.
