Is there ANY possible way to get my watch to alert me when I’m watching a movie or TH-cam on my phone? I use my phone to listen/ watch TH-cam at work and I miss so many messages because my phone is unlocked, but I’m not staring at the screen, I’m working. Would be nice to have the option, but I haven’t found anything that works.
The issue I’m having is I’m hearing notifications, but not seeing them. This just started today. I got a Ring notification, but when I lifted my wrist to see it, I didn’t get the preview I always do. I got another notification (forget what it was for), lifted my wrist, nothing was there. Any idea what may be the issue?

I don't know if this will help but I went to every place on my watch and on my phone that dealt with notifications, and I just flipped them off, then flipped them back on. It worked! I get all my notifications again, both sight and sound.
I am pairing my Apple Watch to my iPhone and it says there’s an update which I have to do before I continue setting it up. However it says unable to find update. It’s been stuck like this for a few days now rendering my watch unusable.
My snap notifications come in but I can’t click and read them anymore with the 6. I swear I was at least able to read messages on the 3 ! 😭 am I mistaken!?

Not sure if the new update changed the notification setting but I don't even see "always show short looks" as an option. None of my notifications pop up like they used to but I still feel the vibration that something was received on my watch. This all happened after I hadn't put my watch on for a couple days and it's strange. I've messed with all the settings and nothing is working. Can you please help?

It depends if you have a cellular Apple Watch or not.. if you have cellular and there is an app for the Apple Watch then you'll get notifications... but even if you have cellular but there's only iPhone App (like with whatsapp) then you won't get them unless you're next to iPhone
Same problem here. When it happens go to dock by clicking side power button and then quit messages app by swipeing to the left. Open app frome menu and see if it helped

Exactly! Never had to miss any messages when using samsung watch on my iphone or on my samsung phone. Apple is just making it hard again for no reason, because with wrist detection off, you still get notifications on both your phone and watch
Bmmm none of this worked for me 🤷🏻♀️ it’s a brand new Apple series 8 Apple Watch.. I only get sound notifications if the watch is open and I’m messing around on it. Other than that I don’t get any sounds or notifications

I just got a series 8 and I’m not getting any notifications. It’s such BS! I’ve tried literally everything. What’s weird is when my wife calls me - my watch rings and everything like it should. Send a text and watch doesn’t ding - but I can see I got a new notification. It just isn’t alerting me to it. I think it’s because I’m covered in tattoos so it isn’t reading it being on a wrist. This sucks lol 😂!! I was excited to get this watch but may end up taking it back

Thank you , my watch stopped showing all notifications but stopped all of a sudden. I tried your suggestions and so far all good at least for now.

Telegram and Instagram don’t have an Apple Watch App so it’s not possible to install them on the AW.

I still cannot get notifications on my watch from google chat… it must be an issue with my phone because since I got a new phone this feature has not worked
A 3 min video ended up becoming 6min long by adding silly reasons like low battery and silent mode

You should still get the regular notification, where the messages icons show up, Apple didn't remove it...

Don't forget to turn off the theatre mode.
I turned it off and it’s still not working
So unhelpful didn’t work anything he said. All you need to do is turn your Apple Watch on and off and there you go you will see notifications again
