To my knowledge Zuma has not resigned as ANC member. Instead, when making his announcement in December 2023 to join and campaign for the MK Party, he stated categorically that he would remain and die as member of the ANC.
Therefore, ANC should have taken him to DC as early as in January 2024. He tasting waters on both sides, if MK Party wins he will go with them. Similarly, if MK Party loses the election he will come back to ANC and say I have never resigned as ANC member. Good decision by the ANC, deal with the man through DC and expel him so that he doesn't come back to ANC on technicalities that he never resigned nor was he ever expelled by the Party.
