Thanks Dennis. I definitely expected more out of that place, but it's still historic.

The smokestack looks like it was used for a textile mill. Nice area for an explore!❤

There were textile and saw mills on that river. Could definitely have been a textile mill

That rusty sheet metal always rings off like silver! That monster chimney is cool! Only a matter of time before that comes down! Really cool spot! We all have days like that, thanks for sharing!

I strongly disagree about it being a bust. You need to get away from mill. You want to slow swing the entire road/cart path that lead to that mill back in 1800 or whenever it was built. I think you may just find something special and about 50 shotgun shell.

I did swing what looked like the "road", off camera. More sheet metal. I have barley started detecting that place. I got a little frustrated that day. It's gonna take patients and time. Thanks for the sub and watching my vid!👍

The best part of metal detecting is always getting out in nature and exploring cool places. Any finds are just a bonus. That's how I look at it.

💯. I went out there with a certain expectation. And got schooled. That place would take a lot of patience to dig through it.

Lmao i love the guys in your comments acting like you're giving away a location with this video 😂 don't listen to them, they're just mad they are too dumb to make videos. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for checking out my vids and comments! Yeah, I think that guy unsubscribed😆 with Google earth and lidar anybody can find any cellar hole with a little research. More vids to come!

I know that place well. I've detected there many times as have others over the decades. I really wish you would stop giving away the locations of the places you hunt. Save that information for your close friends only. Detecting sites are a precious resource. You don't need to invite the general public.

Everybody and there uncle knows about this place. It's no secret. It's really not a good place to go detecting unless you like frustration. Too much sheet metal. Do you know what that place was? I think it was a saw mill, but I'm not sure.. I walked that river from there to the bridge on hooper sands. Took me 4 hrs and it's just desolate out there. I keep the good spots for myself😉 I know a cpl holes that haven't been searched by anyone but me. I'm not done with them yet...kinda have to corral the general public To the used up spots tho. There are still some good places...

@@christophermichaud7187 My guess would be a textile mill. I've hiked about 2/3ds of the way to Hooper Sands as far as the small foundations along the river and a lot of woods in between. You are new to detecting. There will come a time when you get a new detector and develop new techniques and you'll be glad you have places like this to fall back on. Not only that but there are many who believe these places are historic sites and when they see people digging for artifacts could easily take steps to ban the use of metal detectors. That's why it's best to keep a low profile and not publicize the hobby at local sites.
