I've managed to beat vr mission 017 with 02:53.21 and it's not that bad once you know what to do in the last part. Everyone interested in doing the 1st Rank in this mission, here is how you do it: First of all, do everything that Chip does in the sector 1 and 2 of vr017. In the last sector just stand in the corner with the grenades and let the gekkos come to you. They will gather all around you. This is when you start throwing grenades likes a madman to damage all the three gekkos at once while trying to remain in the respawn spot for the grenades (Raiden will slowly move forward when throwing grenades). It's still difficult because you will surely lose a lot of health. I barely survived with about 2 % Hp. So you should avoid the rockets in sector 2 at any cost to remain as much health as possible for the last part.
on mission 19, I saw a glitch that if you jump off the edge of the arena, then you will be turned invincible. This isn't a troll comment, I really saw that.
9:20 I remember when I first played VR Mission 19. I spent about three hours on it and was really frustrated, then somehow triggered a glitch that involved falling off the level in a particular way and making my hitbox technically still below the level while I was up there killing everyone, meaning effectively everything anything threw at me phased right on through me. Long story short I fell so far into the abyss I activated God Mode. ... Good times.
Good video but bad way to show off vr 19. You can do a finisher on fenrir just after simple non-charged 3 hit pincer combo. A lot faster, a lot easier(especially in last room).
Mission 18 is the only one I haven't finished, the first 5 seconds of wave 2 felt like the hardest to me. Those two Mastiffs always jump onto different walls and because of the camera, I only know where one attack is coming from. Thank you for the incredibly thorough playthrough, Chip.
I did the last VR mission differently. I had no idea about the invisible platforms so i redhot kicked my way from the bottom to the guy right in front of the exit.
Thanks for the LP; looking forward to Uncharted 3 once Rogue Warrior's done with. It's a wonderful game but the lack of well-planned pacing is going to give Ironicus a field day!

Seems like the 2D AR missions could work well for a portable MGR game.

Didn't you mention a vr mission where you fight barehanded like in the final boss fight, or am I just wishing that was true?

it took me SO LONG to do mission 18 and you made it look like it was nothing lol. Mission 17 was cake compared to 18 for me
