Travel by Pune-Kolhapur railway takes way more time compared to way shorter time by road. This rail route goes round and round like a jalebi, first from karad to Satara (u turn route) and secondly all those curves at Daundaj, Adarki etc (U turns). It was different when British built this route 150 yrs ago. In current scenario IR should have straightened this route thus reducing the distance and travel time. They had a chance to create something new. Instead they just copied the British which is sad. Same unfortunate situation is between Daund manmad route. Train goes round and round thus taking more time. Pune-Aurangabad by train takes way way way more time compared to bus which takes way way shorter time. IR should have built direct new route from Pune to Nagar to Aurangabad which would take way lesser time and thus also avoiding the old British jalebi route via Daund, Ranjangaon, Yeola, Manmad

Ok. Got some update on Pune Kolhapur VB. This train becomes 80-90% empty at Sangli and Miraj jn. But I am not worried for this particular train as when it shall be extended to Mumbai it shall run full upto Kolhapur Interestingly this train is reaches before time to Kolhapur 👍
From what I am seeing from vlogger's videos, Pune-Hubli train becomes 40-50% empty at Sangli & Miraj jn. and 80-90% empty at Belgaum. This does not look good. Hope IR does not discontinue this train. Also this train is late everyday. I shall update the occupancy information about Kolhapur train if & when I find it on internet.
KD There are a total of 9 Viaduct under various stage of construction, like Girder launching , foundation work , land filling I will keep my fingers crossed as far as the completion date of Mar 25 is concerned The volume of soil filling require time for settlement & will be ideal if land filling receives 1 or 2 Shower of rains It seem tight
Due to doubling work at Shirwade-Karad-Shenoli section, Train No. 16508 SBC-Jodhpur Express JCO on JCO on 07.10.2024, will be diverted via Miraj-Kurudwadi-Daund-Pune-Lonavala and further proper route. Also Dadar Satara short terminated and short originated from Miraj Bikaner Miraj short Terminated/originated from Satata... So good NEWS coming sooner than expected?
