Revisiting this and seeing Dan absolutely gaslighting Stephen at 8:00 and Stephen not noticing and agreeing had me dying with laughter, just because I can picture Dan's look of defeat.
Early on in the video the thought crossed my mind "Man, this is going a bit TOO well for a Stephen & Friends Codenames". Of course, it was only a matter of time until H O T P O T A T O.
The Phoenix is actually from Greek mythology, it was believed for some time in the past that it had Egyptian origins but on further investigations the answer came out inconclusive and now it's believed that the Phoenix did first appear in Greek mythology and Egyptian mythology could have been influenced by it
Yeah, they mention the wikipedia page but if you actually read it, it is saying it is a case of mistaken attribution. Like stuff like Horus may have influence the concept of the Phoenix but, it isn't Egyptian. Napoleon, on the other hand, has a major expedition to Egypt under his belt before taking over France
Honestly don’t blame that one on Stephen. I didn’t read the title of the episode and my first thought with pass was pass the hot potato. I was screaming that you didn’t pick it sooner. And for the last clue Mal should have picked a clue for Zombie and let them try and guess noon as the final pass clue.
That click on Potato was too darn fast lmao XD and Egypt was a poor clue because like Alex my mind went right to locusts as well. I'd associate Locusts and Egypt. Phoenix I'd be more likely to associate with Arizona lmao
I got a bit confused for the first minute or two of the episode since the layout has Alex as the Spymaster for Red Team when it's actually Chaz. I'm guessing that was just an editing mistake. It was a bit of an oopsie. 😅
I love that Chaz Juliette and I were all on the same page with Lemonade and Sharp so I felt so vindicated at the end when Chaz confirmed it was the clue
If you know horse racing, Egypt was a really good clue because there was a race horse a few years back named American Pharaoh that won the triple crown for the first time in almost 40 years.
Codenames may be one of my favourite Stephen and Friends games. Always a riot, great job Mal and Chaz 😅 I really love the production and UI display for this series, so as your QA friend I wanted to highlight a issue to assist with your high quality output incase it wasn’t spotted (with love!) 😎 [UI][Codenames - Pass the Potato] The VOIP display for spymasters/operatives shows incorrectly (Someone might get a chuckle out of that). I think Alex & Chaz are switched is all, not sure if it’s a widget set-up or something in post but all good vibes ✨
Stephen's logic in Codenames is truly a sight to behold

Man, Stephen did not hesitate to hit that potato, like... wow.
Mal: "All you had to do was PASS!"
She really was trying to make sure they got the hint to let it go
This episode had such a fun unhinged quality to it 😂

"Was pass for Zombie?"
"Lunch"
"Was *Lunch* for Zombie??"
Stephen...
I am so glad I only have to see Stephen and Alex play Codenames as an outside observer
I feel bad for both Chaz and Mal LOL. I did not expect that ending.
A New York Pass involves lots of swearing, some birds being flipped and brakes being checked.

I was chanting "hot potato" when they were first discussing the pass clue.
Stephen is so unhinged in this episode. He really needs to agree with everyone before he clicks. 😂
I am absolutely not convinced Stephen actually believed all that stuff about his last guess before he actually made it
Everyone is talking about how unhinged Stephen was in this episode, but no one is talking about that argument between Alex and Chaz at the end.
Stephen was swayed by Brandon?!?? Stephen could have been swayed by a mild breeze this game! LOL
That click on Potato was too darn fast lmao XD

Same lol, I was about to comment that
When they were talking about Skull Pass, I kept thinking about Skull Lake from BOTW.
And here I was immediately thinking potato for optics since potatoes have eyes lol
You could tie Zombie and Lunch together with "brains" possibly.
To be fair Mal should’ve given the clue for zombie first. Then there would’ve been no confusion
I love that Chaz Juliette and I were all on the same page with Lemonade and Sharp so I felt so vindicated at the end when Chaz confirmed it was the clue
Stephen: Thanks for knowing where my head was going
Juliette: oh dear god help
That was a hilarious twist ending, and I agree with Alex about Egypt.
It's the speed at which stephen hit potato. No thoughts, just do.
No no no! DON’T PASS THE POTATO! 🤣🤣🤣
If you know horse racing, Egypt was a really good clue because there was a race horse a few years back named American Pharaoh that won the triple crown for the first time in almost 40 years.
The whole I was waiting for someone to be like "oh wait Phoenix = Egyptian mythology" but it didn't happen.
Wow. Just wow. I never expected that. But also, Brandon's logic was 100% right.
I'm so glad I didn't look at the comments before it ended
17:20 "Everything I have leads to potato" o7
What a wild ending 😂😂😂

I always pause after every clue is given and try to guess the words before unpausing lol
The height of comedy is getting killed by a potato.
Lunch + Zombie = Brains 2
I can attest that there are some players where you *have* to pass immediately to avoid disaster.
Why did none of the friends go "Stephen, you know the pyramids don't come from space, right?"
because technically, everything on earth "came from space" :p
I'm thinking BRAINS for zombie lunch!
Zombie & Lunch? "Brains 2", done
oh Alex is the spymaster when it should be chaz.
pretty sure the 4th pass was “lunch pass” which is why she did noon for it just to get it out of the way
Hot Potato is a very fun game.
Cannibal only connected to zombie, lunch and skull lol
Stephen really wanted SwampPass to be it, huh xD
I have no idea how you can say Egypt as a clue and not mean locust or Napoleon but that might just be my history major brain
Ah yes, the Egyptian horse, a camel.
17:31 Mal said the Fuck word 😯
Zombie + Lunch = Cannibalism 2, right?
I totally thought "Space" was for Anchor because of all the shuddered malls/shops that always say "Anchor Space Available"
WOW. just.. wow

I can't disagree with thomas. a mummy (at least in movies where it's walking around) is just a zombie wrapped in bandages
When dog 2
Are You Going To React To The New Pikmin 4 Trailer?
They already have
egypt brings to mind locusts well before phoenix. even napoleon is more relevant than phoenix! that really seriously is greek!!
Why are these video's so small?! I want half an hour to an hour of this!! It's so hilarious and I miss long videos of Stephen & Friends. ;n;
