Hey I loved your video but I do have to say the little overreaction over the college age thing, I’m in my 20’s and still haven’t gotten to college, maybe they felt like normal people and wanted at least 1 year where they didn’t have to do anything related to school, and went to college the year after, I have no idea why that wasn’t a possibility you mentioned but I felt like I had to explain. Again love your video and almost no one talks about this movie, especially someone that watched it so much, but I’m glad you did it
Was it the sitting on desk for 14 hours a day, or was it being poor as shit not being to afford nice food? Was it having to tolerate old and out of touch people who hold your grade hostage, or forced to be living with inconsiderate people?
My favorite part about this movie is how Max, the protagonist, it's the only normal, level headed, simple, non quirky character ik the movie, and he still stands out because every other character in this is fucking crazy
It's the straight man trope! Not as in orientation but it describes when a composed, pretty "normal" relatable character is the foil or juxtaposition to the rest of the characters, usually eccentric or wacky, so the straight man takes the place of the audience in a way as we acclimate to the world and setting alongside them. Max in Hocus Pocus is arguably a straight man in the story bc he's the new kid in town and finds out magic and witches are real etc... another example is Hank from King of the Hill! Tori from Victorious is an example of it too, but I think this film did it better
Liked this movie as a kid. It hasn't really aged with me, but I still appreciate how clear and obvious it was that everyone involved with this sequel was actually trying to make something earnest and interesting.
I ended up seeing this one first, and it still works. It's a very different story but it lays out everything you need to know about the first movie, Goofy and Max used to be close but now that Max is grown and going to college they've grown apart and while Max is trying to branch out Goofy misses him.
What I liked was that Maxes character development was carried on from the first movie. I hate when sequels undo character development because they rather play it safe and rehash what the first did. I liked we could tell that Max had an understanding of how much his Dad loves him while still wanting that independence. In the first movie he had no patience with Goofy, but you can tell he was really trying his best to be understanding of goofy’s situation this time. I liked seeing that maturity carry on from the first
There is a really good scene in the first act of the movie which demonstrates that Goofy and Max’s relationship *has* changed compared to the start of the original Goofy Movie. The night before Max leaves for college, Goofy gives him a present. While unwrapping it, Max’s dialogue makes it clear he thinks it’s going to be a cool, high-tech item… only to open it and find an analog, mechanical calculator. The thing is so hopelessly out of date that Max has to ask his dad what it even is, to which Goofy explains that it’s a family heirloom- he and his dad before him both used it when they went to college. Mac is clearly disappointed, but he does respond with a genuine, “Thanks dad, this means a lot to me.” No sarcasm, no rubbing it in Goofy’s face that he actually thought this ancient hunk of metal would be of any use. He simply accepts what his father was trying to do. That mechanical calculator never comes up again, in some ways it’s a Checkov’s Gun that never fired, but it still serves a great purpose in the film.
Dude that’s sick!! Fun fact, I’m also in college for animation about to take a storyboarding class this year lol. One of my animation teachers last year was an animator on the goofy movie. Just a quick comment, why are the animators of theses movies, so GOOD at drawing BADDIES. I mean there's Sylvia the librarian, Beret Girl, that one girl Max met at the club.
These movies genuinely make me love goofy because they shaped goofy to simply be a struggling single father with an average teenage son!! Max is the perfect idea of an aging teen as in goof troop he stated he was 11.5 in literally the first episode and we have Seen him grow up!!! Even to this day in ducktales max has stayed aging! With goofy saying that max has been in college as of recently and I love that as a person who literally just ended their first semester and grew up watching these movies and goof troop. Max is personally my favourite character
i find it so cool how he was introduced as a child in the christmas movie then aged in good troop then aged again in goofy movie, the teens that aged alongside him were probably so glad to see a character to relate to for all those years
Let's not forget Sylvia without her glasses and donned a disco outfit that makes Goofy feel goofed. "Shake Your Groove Thang" and "Right Back Where We Started From" really slapped though.
The first scene in this movie, particularly Goofy's horseshoe lecture, is SO CLEVER. The way the horseshoe bounces around and goes crazy before it makes it around the spike (Idk what it's called). It's subtle, but in the scheme of what Goofy is talking about, it really adds to the metaphor he's trying to get across and kinda foreshadows the entire movie.
The fact that Bobby questioned his reality with his gloves got him removed from anything Disney because after this movie he is never seen nor mentioned again 😂
What I really like about both movie and sequel is how it knows and acknowledges that children CAN understand real life problems and situations. They live through these things every day of their lives, even if the characters are going through experiences children haven’t gone through yet (like college), they’ve lived through it through their older siblings, their cousins, their parents, other older kids, etc. Kids aren’t stupid, and I’ve always found that companies assume that kids can’t understand and enjoy complex stories while still maintaining the child-like wonder that they posses.
Agreed. We may not have understood every part of some scenes, for lack of sharing the experience, but we understood the conciseness. Goofie’s having a romantic date, Max letting go of his anxious embarrassment to enjoy the vibe at the club, how much Bradley is a piece of crap, but ultimately learns to lose with grace while still getting his well earned comeuppance for his real villainy In betrayal, etc. These are all subtle ideas that we as a child could easily catch on to without needing to fully understand the exact context. Heck, as a child I didn’t know what a Frat is or why one might want to join, but as a kid I understood that Max and friends wanted to join a club and what the story told us about them. Truly a good movie.
I like the way it mirrors the first movie. The first one was all about how Max was growing up and moving into a new phase of his life. In this one, Goofy is doing the same: finishing college to get a better job, finding love, and just starting a new phase of life now that Max is grown and out of the house. The cherry on top is Max watching Goofy and Sylvia driving off into the sunset, smiling and just being happy for his Pops.
19 and starting college straight out of highschool without having been held back is quite possible if you live in a state where you are not allowed to start school until you are officially the right age (so 5 for kindergarden) and your birthday falls even a week after the year starts. So for example a December baby doesn't get to go to kindergarten until they are already almost 6.
This movie started a running joke with myself where every character played by Jeff Bennett is just Bradley Uppercrust III because thats who I hear whenever I hear him speak lol
As a kid I loved TLK2 for the music, but as an adult I love its message against prejudice. The circumstances of Kovu's birth do not define him & the conflict between Simba's pride & the outlanders ends with Kiara telling Simba that he's wrong to treat them differently. It makes a lot of sense that Simba would fear Scar's followers, but they shouldn't have had to suffer for his crimes by the time Kiara was an adult. I think her indepedence & compassion made an impression on me as a child, & so did watching the misplaced hatred almost everyone had for Kovu.
@@WithoutAnyRain No it is so much deeper! Like because the whole concept of the outlanders is messed up. The fact that the children have to pay for their sins of their parents. The fact that they see the slightest bit of Evil in Kovu and immediately kick him out not even hearing his side
@@poweroffriendship2.0 I mean, for those who weren't alive then, I guess you had to experience it. Hammer and Ice were huge. Hammer had a one hit wonder song and pretty much faded from the public within a year and Ice, once it came out he was copying music, boom, his career was over instantly
I love the Easter egg that the names on the list of grades Goofy reads after his exams are people who worked on the film, and one poor dude got like the worst grades.
I'm gonna let you in on a secret - I was into the dog yaoi back when I first watched this as a kid. Kept on thinking in the back of my head "okay but they should date"
These movies always made me have such a huge crush on Goofy, even nowadays. It’s reaaaally hard to justify because most people assume I’m like.. into actual animals because of it, so I don’t talk about it much. He’s just a cute, loving, silly single dad I would absolutely ravish if given the chance
The one thing about this movie that lives rent free in my head all these years later is _Bradly Uppercross III,_ He is both; laughably written as the most stereotypical trust-fund, frat-boy antagonist you could ask for in a college setting... and yet I want to hit him across the face with my Enjoi skateboard to this day. The movie as a whole sits as a unique piece in the large catalogue of Disney sequels, a gem in a sea of disappointments... a one-of-a-kind experience that I still cherish even now in my late 20s and through college.
What I think doesn't get talked about enough in a goofy movie and an extremely goofy movie, and I'm glad you pointed it out, is that it's just meant to be fun. These movies don't care about disbelief. They can exaggerate movements, faces, and appearances. It's a cartoon and makes sure you know it. Even animated movies now make everything as realistic as possible, and some are incredible to watch, but movies like this are just straight up fun to watch. Now you have a whole lot of realism to the point disney is now in a live action remake era, and basically all of them are dumpster fire garbage burning the original story as a result. These movies do an incredible job of giving those goofy moments that you can't help but at least smile at, while still hitting on the emotional moments regardless of age.
It's great to see someone have their own Lion King 1.5/3: Hakuna Matata a movie that by all accounts should not work at any level, and yet it is cemented in my childhood as a movie so good, that I often watch it a lot more than the original.
the thing I love the most about it is that it's basically just Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, which is perfect since the Lion King is Hamlet with lions
@@MantisSage and it's actually funny, a rare accomplishment for some Disney DTV stuff... The way I see it, there are 3 of these comedy legends: The Lion King 1.5 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers There are movies with comedic moments like Cinderella III, and an extremely goofy movie is certainly number 4 on my list of hilarious Disney DTV movies, but the 3 I mentioned, they are the 3 I go back to over and over again...
I was born in the 1980s. I was a kid when goof troop and a goofy movie came out. I loved it. When this movie came out I was a couple years away from college age. I liked it ok. You could tell they was going after the teenagers ..young adults. Everything was extreme!! Back then.
Same here, I grew up with gooftroop the cartoon and a goofy movie, but this one I didn't even knew it existed, just found out a couple of years ago, doesn't look to good to me, I never liked college movie's, there all so boring
This was an absolute gem as a kid. My brother and I will still sometimes quote "heyyyyy hooooo and WHADDAYAKNOOOW", that announcer was just that iconic
I had the sequal DVD as a kid and watched it every night to go to sleep. Danced, laughed, quoted till this day, it conforted me during rough times as a kid an the epilepsy. This movie is forever a classic imo 👌
I find it funny how Goofy on his own, in his own shorts and stuff. He’s generally entertaining to watch. But when Max’s is paired with him, he goes from about a 6 to 7 out of 10. To 10 out of 10 character! Like instantly, his caring demeanor to Max is endearing and when Goofy gets frustrated or sad it feels so genuine.
Only thing i regret about extremely goofy movie is that they don’t even MENTION Roxanne, like if they just said they broke up I’d understand they didn’t say anything lol
I'm not sure I agree but if ANYONE has reason to make a video essay about An Extremely Goofy Movie being good, it's someone who was THAT obsessed with it as a kid. Like oh my god. I love that. I'm seated. Also, here for the Wreck it Ralph 2 hate.
i instantly fell in love with your editing, comedic timing and delivery, eloquence in dissecting nuances, and our shared hatred for Ralph Breaks the Internet!!!
I love the ending to the movie, its like a nice little bow to wrap up the Goof Troop series by Goofy finally separating with Max while having a special someone for the rest of his life. That is until House of Mouse. I don't like the sports plot but the animation looks very good.
While Goofy movie represents early nineties with references to pop culture of the time as well as the rebellious attitude kids and teens had back then. Extremely goofy movie is more late nineties with the Xgames and older generations nostalgic for 70s themed things. (Much like how the late 2000s and 2010s had 80s nostalgia and post 2020 is now 90s nostalgia.)
I mean the concept of college is not to far off for kids to grasp. It's very similar to Magical schools or other fantasy institutions of education. What makes them different is only the subjects being taught. I mean I'm Malaysian and I don't see animated cartoon with America's version of school to be a regular thing for me, but the basic understanding of what school is is there
That bit where Bobby makes a comment about the gloves has lived rent free in my head since childhood. Ever since then it's hard not to pay attention to them in any character design that has it.
No because I used to watch this movie on repeat all the time when I was little. I honestly feel bad for my parents who had to watch as their five year old stared blankly at the screen as the silly dog guy cries along in his--now empty--son's bedroom. This movie might've been one of my first looks into the idea of adulthood and may or my not have scarred me to the point where I was terrified to grow up. anywhizzle, at my grandma's house, there was a Wii and one of the applications on the Wii was TH-cam and I think I only used it once or twice because it was too difficult for me to figure out how to search and watch what I wanted, but the first thing I had ever looked up to watch was the 'Shake your Groove Thing' scene from this movie. it's super cool that someone //finally// understands and had the same admiration for this film when they were younger lol
Shouts out to shorty who directed “Prince of Egypt”. Favorite American animation of all time. You had to see it in theater. The opening, Moses learning of his destiny, the plagues. The Hebrews being freed. The animation and music was most definitely top notch. Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston have an all time great song; the in movie iteration is great as well(different versions). All time great animation and OST. I know it’s non secular to an extent but this is just a great movie through and through.
Imma let you finish but.... *Lion King 1 1/2 is the greatest midquel of all time* (i.e. betwixt pre- and se-). Everything down to BOTH DVD bonus games "Who Wants To Be King Of The Jungle?" and the shockingly immersive *Disney amusement park ride simulation* which has since been devastingly robbed of a real life interpretation and/or VR experience to commemorate it's utter genius.
i know this is totally unrelated to the actual content of the video but i have to say that part of why im even still watching is that something about your voice is so reassuring. it kind of sounds like mine! my dream job is voice work but im insecure about my voice and i worry that no one would *like* to hear it no matter what i do. i know its just really easy to be overly self critical but im amazed every time examples like this bring me back to reality. your delivery, dictation, tone and pitch all work in your favor and i *want* to listen to it! so much of videos is presentation and your voice over makes this endearing and relatable
This movie is basically a whole season arc of a slice of life show, with absolutely every bit of filler trimmed out. I think thats why it works in spite of its apparent lack of coherence; rather than TV people trying to make a movie and not doing it well, the crew were able to bring in tacit knowledge to this movie that wouldnt transfer to a normal sequel
My answer to Max's age question is that it is a legitimate thing for graduates to take a 'gap year' before college so they can explore their options and get a glimpse of adult life before being thrown into school again. For teens like Max and his friends, it's also like an extended summer vacation.
I honestly think the quality in animation may have to do with the fact that the toon Disney branch studio(s) who did the animation for this movie actually shut down and an extremely goofy movie was their last project. So it feels like they wanted to go out with a bang and the end credits kinda make it feel like a celebration/ final horra :')
I’m glad people are talking about this tho, the goofy movie and it’s extreme sequel, I see why some people didn’t like the films because some people thought it was going to be more about “max and Roxanne” when in reality it was more about the relationship between goofy and his son max and how as thing change so does the dynamic and relationship I actually love the sequel it’s pretty great.
im only 14 so i obviously didnt grow up with this movie BUT i do remember watched a CD of this movie over and over and OVER (along with a lion king 2) like i was obsessed and i had a small crush on max...but anyway when i was like 8 i was SO excited for college because i wanted to live with my friends and join clubs and all that and i still am honestly but for different reasons now lol but srsly i still love this movie
the X Games and movies related to them were a huge deal to me as a kid (like Brink and Rad) and I def think that's a lot of what they wanted to go for. Great video, great movie!
the gamma leader is animated in the style of the timon and pumbaa series in my opinion. strangely slapstick, more like a wb tv cartoon of the same era like animaniacs
My favorite part about the Goofy Movie when I was younger was the high school setting. It seemed like a more realistic depiction compared to other shows with its rebellious (yet still innocent) nature and made me really excited for high school. So when I watched the Extremely Goofy Movie when I was a bit older it gave me that same excitement for the future with its "realistic" portrayal of college.
I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid too, and I know exactly why: the soundtrack. I mostly listen to stuff from the 70s and 80s, and I'm sure this movie was the starting point for that.
glad to see everyone is now very interested in this movie because of the enemies to lovers punk x prep yaoi that the fans have entirely crafted in their hivemind echo chamber on tiktok. i am one of you.
I loved this movie as a kid. I'd never even seen the first one, honestly. My parents didn't own it for some reason. But we bought this one! And since they raised me on a bunch of 70's music, those scenes were my favorite parts hands down. I wanted a mood ring so badly (still do. I always break them) And every couple of years I give it another re watch and it holds up. So glad you gave it the attention it deserved!!
It's been speculated that it was Goofy that forgot the lesson of the first movie instead of Max, while he's not happy his dad's at college, Max is also understanding and reasonable once he hears that Goofy was fired and needs to get his degree, Max also right from the start lays down some ground rules which Goofy agrees to. However Goofy immediately forgets the whole conversation, that he's supposed to be there to get his degree, does his smothering dad thing and it messes with Max's college life, while Max could've given his dad a proper goodbye instead of running right out the door(which fortunately they do get that goodbye hug at the end) but Goofy shouldn't have dragged Max into his empty nest syndrome. Sidenote: i love that they show Goofy can throw down against Bradley when they give him trouble and talk smack about Max(remember when he got straight up pissed when he learned Max changed the map?) Goofy ain't playing.
An Extremely Goofy Movie is one I liked a lot as a kid thanks to how often they ran it on Disney Channel. Despite all the "Xtreme Sports" that felt like pandering to what the kids would think is hip, it manages break through with a fun plot, where the skateboarding feel like a natural interest for the characters. I always kinda felt bad for Goof Troop legacy since I really enjoyed a lot of the episodes when I was younger, but people think of the Goofy family storyline as just these movies. I wish Disney could find a way to elevate Goof Troop's popularity whenever A Goofy Movie comes up in anniversary specials and such since I miss certain things exclusive to the series, like Pete's family.
I love this movie but it actually terrified me about the difficulty level of college as a kid because of the little, one second throwaway joke where the first question on their exam is "briefly explain the meaning of the universe."
TH-cam algorithm led me somewhere wonderful for once. This was such a good video and I gotta watch this movie again, bet it's been over 20 years since last time.
I was born April 7th 1995, the very same day as A Goofy Movie released. In a way I've always felt a special connection with that fact, but without it I think I feel the same way about these movies. I've always loved Disney animation, rewatched my tapes of Lion King, Peter Pan, and Mulan so many times. Over the years I've become entrenched in the world of voice over and Jason Marsden has one of my favorite voices ever. It's so fun and pure and unique, it's a total joy to hear anything that he's a part of. I'm a big fan of Kingdom Hearts (i feel like "obviously" at this point) which hit me at the perfect age that had this slight childish edge that kept me so connected to Disney characters and Goofy being such a big part of KH I've been left wondering if we'll ever have the pleasure of seeing Max in the franchise. I should get the Ultra Pearlescent Diamond Editions of these Goofy Movies.
The Dean of American Music Aaron Copland once said that good art captures the feeling of living in that time. Many 90s films tried to capture the 90s, but most seem cynical and out of touch. This movie pulled it off without flaw
This movie always stuck out to me as a kid. I always really liked skateboarding and that sort of thing so that was actually one of my favorite parts lol. A lot of people probably don't feel the same but I've always preferred this one over the first
you absolutely explained my same experience with this movie. it came out when i was five, i was OBSESSED with it and watched it nonstop, it sparked my love of 70s music and aesthetics, and probablyyyy contributed to a lot of my stress and anxiety of going away to college when i was a teenager lol. i genuinely thought this was what college was going to be!!! imagine my surprise when i went to a small state commuter school and most of my classes were in rooms smaller than my elementary school classrooms lol!! devastating to hear about the passing of the screenwriter. i hope he knows how many kids he affected with his writing!!! thank you for this video, it was amazing.
This just reminds me of the cartoon network movie era. Charming Lil movies that expands on the series itself and adds depth to the characters and the world. Like Ed Edd and eddy big picture show.

Let's not forget Sylvia without her glasses and donned a disco outfit that makes Goofy feel goofed. "Shake Your Groove Thang" and "Right Back Where We Started From" really slapped though.
SLAM POETRY
The first scene in this movie, particularly Goofy's horseshoe lecture, is SO CLEVER. The way the horseshoe bounces around and goes crazy before it makes it around the spike (Idk what it's called).
It's subtle, but in the scheme of what Goofy is talking about, it really adds to the metaphor he's trying to get across and kinda foreshadows the entire movie.
Super missed the point but its called a horseshoe pin lol
@@aidanquiett668 thank you
So maxley is gonna get us all back to goofy movie
*Seems like it lol-*
what is maxley?
@@AnAverageGoblin it's a ship name for Max and Bradley
@@Leshy_ Oh. ty for clarifying.
it did- I loved this movie as a kid and even then I thought Bradley was fruity💀
Damn the Disney vault commercial was a good throw back
The fact that Bobby questioned his reality with his gloves got him removed from anything Disney because after this movie he is never seen nor mentioned again 😂
Anything Max is in is peak, so this one is the best straigth to DVD sequel EVER made. Max is missed
We need Max in Kingdom Hearts
I think its great Goofy find someone who love him back, and doesn't leave him when he does something goofy.
The problem is we know Max finished his freshman year of high school at 14, so he should realistically be 17 or freshly 18 at the start of the movie.
14.. plus 5... to 19... so he waited a year for college?
Maybe Max took a Gap year??? IDK.
@@TZGKIV I did that too though with no issue?
You also know gap years exist, right?
This movie started a running joke with myself where every character played by Jeff Bennett is just Bradley Uppercrust III because thats who I hear whenever I hear him speak lol
I work at PBS and whenever Curious George is on I have a little mental breakdown. 😂
Even Kyle Katarn? 🤣
0:14 I personally think both Cinderella 3 and Lion King 2 are good. Cinderella 3 is campy and super funny and Lion King 2 has really good music
TLK2 is probably my second favorite Disney sequel -- the songs alone are great. #JASONMARSDENSWEEP
I have so many thoughts about how TLK2 is actually deeper than people give it credit for and the songs are great, but I don’t want to monologue here
Also Cinderella 3 is the best Disney Cinderella, fight me.
@@WithoutAnyRain No it is so much deeper! Like because the whole concept of the outlanders is messed up. The fact that the children have to pay for their sins of their parents. The fact that they see the slightest bit of Evil in Kovu and immediately kick him out not even hearing his side
I always figured Powerline was like Vanilla Ice or MC Hammer. He was really big, then suddenly wasn't and was forgotten within a year.
I always thought Powerline really gives off the vibe of Michael Jackson.
It was said that it was supposed to be Bobby Brown singing that very song, but I believe there was a Scheduling Conflict.
Ehhh hammer had more than one hit but he did fade after that humps n dumps video and song
@@poweroffriendship2.0 Powerline was actually inspired by Michael Jackson so that explains it.
hello goofy movie yaoi enjoyers. thank you for your patronage
Max was definitely an early gay awakening for me. >//
You know before I was a fan of the ship, I was a fan of the movie. It's absolutely wild to revisit it under a queer lens.
Oh, so THAT'S why this showed up on my recommendeds! XD In which case, I thank them as well, this video was fantastic
Am I the only one who shipped (and still kinda does) Bradley with Max at some point? LOL. :P.
"My little Maxie's all GAYED UP and turned into a Lumbersexual" - A definitely real quote from Goofy in this Moofy
I love the Easter egg that the names on the list of grades Goofy reads after his exams are people who worked on the film, and one poor dude got like the worst grades.
Exam: Briefly explain the meaning of the universe.
Goofy: MAX
Such a thoughtful tribute - thank you for posting!
another banger! this made me cry.
i love how so many people are coming back to the movie because of the dog yaoi
*Real- I would know because that is the whole reason I became hyper fixated on this movie-*
Really? 🙄🫣☹️
I STILL listen to the _"Right Back Where We Started From"_ cover to this day.
It's such a nostalgic tune from my childhood.
Mine's been the "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" cover.
I love the scene when Max saves Tank; i shows how much of a character he is.
No cause the scene of goofy crying in Max bedroom made me SOB as a kid. It was so emotional and it made me feel so sad for him being alone
The Bobby remark about gloves made me realize that most of the side characters do not wear gloves, WHY DISNEY?
22:36 - Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up! You're telling me that "An Extremely Goofy Movie" beat "Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost" at the Annie Awards?!
That one was such a Classic too.
Right????
It's great to see someone have their own Lion King 1.5/3: Hakuna Matata
a movie that by all accounts should not work at any level, and yet it is cemented in my childhood as a movie so good, that I often watch it a lot more than the original.
the thing I love the most about it is that it's basically just Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, which is perfect since the Lion King is Hamlet with lions
@@MantisSage and it's actually funny, a rare accomplishment for some Disney DTV stuff...
The way I see it, there are 3 of these comedy legends:
The Lion King 1.5
101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure
Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers
There are movies with comedic moments like Cinderella III, and an extremely goofy movie is certainly number 4 on my list of hilarious Disney DTV movies, but the 3 I mentioned, they are the 3 I go back to over and over again...
The chemistry between Goofy and the librarian, goals for sure 🙏😭
"one of these is apparently good" shows three of my actual favourite disney sequels 😢
Great video!!
I mean I'm Malaysian and I don't see animated cartoon with America's version of school to be a regular thing for me, but the basic understanding of what school is is there
19:25 Disney Australia were known for their facial expressions, you can really see that in their episodes of Goof Troop and Bonkers
That bit where Bobby makes a comment about the gloves has lived rent free in my head since childhood. Ever since then it's hard not to pay attention to them in any character design that has it.
Goofy and Sylvia was one of the Best Disney Couples out there and it annoys me they never brought her back after this!
Say what you will about Return of Jafar, but "you'd be surprised what you could live through" is an all-time great villainous line.
BRUH! Core Memory Unlocked! I played the heck out of it. I also remember the movie mini game to look for the Mickey Mouse Symbols.

i know this is totally unrelated to the actual content of the video but i have to say that part of why im even still watching is that something about your voice is so reassuring. it kind of sounds like mine! my dream job is voice work but im insecure about my voice and i worry that no one would *like* to hear it no matter what i do. i know its just really easy to be overly self critical but im amazed every time examples like this bring me back to reality. your delivery, dictation, tone and pitch all work in your favor and i *want* to listen to it! so much of videos is presentation and your voice over makes this endearing and relatable
@@prinsavvy what a sweet comment! I'm also pretty self conscious about my voice, so this just made my day :^)
This movie is basically a whole season arc of a slice of life show, with absolutely every bit of filler trimmed out. I think thats why it works in spite of its apparent lack of coherence; rather than TV people trying to make a movie and not doing it well, the crew were able to bring in tacit knowledge to this movie that wouldnt transfer to a normal sequel
This era of Disney gave Big Guy's their just needed W's, and I stand on that.
"And then CEO Michael Eisner. HELLO" Should not have cracked me up so much 1:25
YOU GOTTA STOP LMAO "EISNER? EISNER??? O" 7:46
My answer to Max's age question is that it is a legitimate thing for graduates to take a 'gap year' before college so they can explore their options and get a glimpse of adult life before being thrown into school again. For teens like Max and his friends, it's also like an extended summer vacation.
Yeah, Ralph breaks the internet broke the first movie with one friggin’ sentence and I’m not happy
Thank you for feeding my special interest
When I was a kid, I never watched the first Goofy movie and thought the sequel was the only one that existed
I watched the second one first and so I never understood the first one until I got older lol. So I relate to this comment in a way
Glad to see someone else was obsessed with this movie as a kid for no explainable reason
that 'moo moo' thing is insane when you learn the goofy clan are COWS! animation is crazy

im only 14 so i obviously didnt grow up with this movie BUT i do remember watched a CD of this movie over and over and OVER (along with a lion king 2) like i was obsessed and i had a small crush on max...but anyway when i was like 8 i was SO excited for college because i wanted to live with my friends and join clubs and all that and i still am honestly but for different reasons now lol but srsly i still love this movie
Is called a DVD
having a crush on max goof as a child is a canon event how did we all experience this
the X Games and movies related to them were a huge deal to me as a kid (like Brink and Rad) and I def think that's a lot of what they wanted to go for.

Goofy: "I bought you five birthday cakes, because i forgot about your 15th birthday. And your 16th, 17th, 18, and 19th."
Alladin three is my favorite most of the time anyway but then that's because they got the genie back
My mom gave me Extremely Goofy Movie magnets to go on my mini fridge for my first year of college ❤😊
I didn’t even know what slam poetry was as a child but she made me fall in love….. with the poetry… yeah…
I wish Disney could find a way to elevate Goof Troop's popularity whenever A Goofy Movie comes up in anniversary specials and such since I miss certain things exclusive to the series, like Pete's family.
...I LOVED this movie as a kid. This and it's prequel?? the .. pre-movie?? I don't know I was obsessed. Barette girl had me in a choke hold sis
I love this movie but it actually terrified me about the difficulty level of college as a kid because of the little, one second throwaway joke where the first question on their exam is "briefly explain the meaning of the universe."
Lmao my Dad cracked up at that when I was a kid
I feel the same about this film, I love it! I think the reason I love it is more simple, it’s fun and cool with a heart.
TH-cam algorithm led me somewhere wonderful for once. This was such a good video and I gotta watch this movie again, bet it's been over 20 years since last time.
Finally a brave warrior came forward to support this absolute gem!
I still enjoy Aladin 3.
Brining back Robin Williams and letting him go wild and animating around it again just made the movie fun.
The Dean of American Music Aaron Copland once said that good art captures the feeling of living in that time. Many 90s films tried to capture the 90s, but most seem cynical and out of touch.
This movie pulled it off without flaw
Lion King 2 and Aladdin and The King of Thieves were actually really solid. Zira was alot more menscing than Scar.
I absolutely adore this movie. It gives me all the good feelings! Thanks for making this, this movie needs to be glazed more!
If anything, this movie taught me that sometimes life… Is like a lime
