    I went from 35t to a 27t in my Scx10 ii and had about to same results as you did with speed. Great video 👍

      Yeah basically that’s the same difference as the 16 to 13t shown here. Cool

    POWER yessah. That truck is amazing needs a little more weight down low to stay planted . Bigger tires is what it needs that ifs is a little bulky and drags a lot in dirt and sand with the stock tires.

    I just ordered a 13t crawlmaster because my 8t crawlmaster is about to shit out after so much abuse tho. I want a little less wheel speed an a little more low speed torque and better drag break so I got the 13t. But It is a 2 speed trx4 so I can afford to lose some wheel speed any way great vid man keep em coming 🤘

    The holmes are awesome motor but you're right the shafts are too short. Bought one for my gen8 and the shaft is too short.

      I agree. Have it in my Element Enduro kit.
      We need longer shafts, John! :)

    I really like that truck, also all your videos. Great job man. Try the Surpass Hobby 10 turn 5 slot in it. I've got the Surpass in my Gen 8. I think it's a really good motor for the price.

      I’ve had the surpass 10t 550 and it’s a great motor for the money.

  • @HighhScore

    Yo exo try out a hackmoto rock racer 13t in it! I dropped one in my Gelande II and it really woke up on 3s with a 20t pinion.

    I have a question : if I want to put brushless in my crawler , not to go fast , but I don't want to spend too much in an Hobbywing axe, will a Chinese sensored brushless system do the job ?

    • @hardcoretam
      @hardcoretam 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. They perform terribly

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah if you can, get the axe. They have a few versions. The 2300kv which isn’t fast for me, the 1800kv and another one around 1200kv which is super slow. Another option with brushes stuff is to run the Hobbywing 1080 esc with a Holmes 16t Crawlmaster or evening the slower 20t Crawlmaster. If you can fit a 550 size motor get the bigger 15t Crawlmaster sport 550.

    could you help me understand why the lower turn motors are popular? i thought more turns meant more torque and less rpms, so wouldnt a higher turn motor like a 35/45turn from hh work better?

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is a big topic but I’ll sum it up. With a normal 3slot 540 motor, the best turn count is 27. That gives best torque power and efficiency, move those numbers around and you lose something. 45t less power more efficient With a 550 size motor that number is 21t. Now when talking 5 slots that changes to a 13t for the 540 size and 10t for 550 size. Hope that helps.

  • @BigSungHobbies
    @BigSungHobbies 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Any special reason you went with 540 instead of 550? I would be interested to have seen it with 550 12T.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because it’s the same size and easy fit. I am working on a new video with a 1080 esc and Holmes Crawlmaster Sport 10t. 550 size and it’s really nice but still a bit slow for me. Probably put that 8t in there.

    Doesnt Holmes have an 8t crawlmaster sport out? I cant find a video on it & I thought you did one? Thanks

    Did you ever get your fender flair ordered or took care of? I love the Holmes motors but I'm stuck on the axe and the momba x

      Considering how slow the gearing makes it, that KV would probably work fine.

    Well at least you will have a good motor to put in something else when the steerind, suspension and axles on it fall apart in 6 months.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Think it will fall apart? This is my first element of any kind.

  • @dezfan
    @dezfan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think Im going to leave the stock motor in mine. When I do update the motor, I’m gonna throw a Holmes 8T in it.😈

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the stock motor is better than I thought.

    • @dezfan
      @dezfan 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exocaged RC I upgraded to 4.19 BFG KM3 in Predator. Think I’ll upgrade the servo and throw a 1080 in it to see if I notice any major improvements. I’m pretty impressed for RTR gear to. be honest.👍🏼

    Anyone here have issues with how slow this motor is in reverse? I know its not going to be crazy fast being 5slot and brushed. But the motor I have has zero power in reverse
