That damn Talon is like the best project car we could of had, the amount of power you can make out of a 4g63 for the money is insane, sad to see you guys not just keeping that as the project car like wtf?...
Should mention the understeer when off throttle. Is a safety issue if you don't expect and aren't used to it in an emergency stop situation. Like the shirts!
What sucks about welded diff is you can forget about driving it in snow/ice, Just going around the roundabout or taking a corner 10mph it's throwing the back around everywhere.
I had a welded diff for two weeks. Quickly went back to an open centre until I got a real lsd. Looked at my axles after 5,000km. I had to replace them because of the stress a locker puts on it. Started twisting the splines.
I completely understand wanting the nice wheels and tires and putting on old rear for the track, but if your not going to run a match set on the street, might as well put the stocks back on all around.
I wouldn't be concerned about tires as much as I would CV joints and axles. They bind up pretty bad. I have a 60% built LSD in my turbo E34 and it chirps the inside tire in tight turns but it doesn't bind and grate like that. LSD serves a purpose for sure.
I just got my BMW 335i weld it and yes I'm on coilovers so it is normal to make a noise like that at low speed, parking lot those chirp noise? Yes I also do daily drive my Bimmer I just like to have a little fun drift action and burnout though as a daily.
cba checking if anyone has mentioned this but another thing to note with a welded diff is that if u dont have power steering, ull have to work a fair bit harder to turn the wheel. i had one like that and it felt like i had to wrestle with the car to make it go where i wanted it to. the skipping of the inside rear wheel was exactly the same as in the video tho, no real problem.
I ran a Cj5 with 35's , built 360 and lincoln locked dana 60 rear daily for a few years. It was fun but sure hard on tires and driveline. If you sneezed it'd change zip codes on ya. Ahh to be Young again.
Try and throw some Michelin Pilot Sports on there, or something grippier. You will chirp and hop all over the place. Its still fine and perfectly liveable, but the reason your welded diff is so quiet is because your tires are cheap and not very grippy. Although most drift guys wont be running crazy grippy tires on a daily drifter
I dailied my 62 C10 for over a year with a lincoln locker and it was pretty bitchin'...up until i was turning around backwards at slow speed and it bound up and snapped the axle shaft and destroyed the diff carrier. drive throughs suck because they typically are cement instead of asphalt
How's welded diff daily in the rain? I live in Oregon where it rains like 8months out of year. I'm just wondering if I'll be slippin and sliding and how safe is it.
it's mostly for drifting. you get more power and a more constant, stable drift when welding the diff. also when you burn out it just looks cool af lmao.
Fox Mense LSD is great if you have manual or have an automatic doesn't prevents the gears from going up automatically. Also you have to make sure your engine power is enough to break traction. The amount of wear on components is a lot higher like this. I really think drifting isn't worth it but if you run ultra bald hard tires it would be awesome. Maybe they should invent tires that are like this so drifting is done easier? I assume it couldn't be DOT certified though as the safety rating would definitely be compromised at high speeds. If you go custom you can get away with it as they wouldn't really know and you can drift super easy with low power.
Are the shirts decent quality? I bought a shirt recently (not from the same company) and the printing didn't survive a single wash and it's all cracked and peeling now so I'm really weary about buying random shirts on the internet now...
my 89 silverado had a welded diff, welded gears, and welded ass end to traction bars. as you would proabaly guess she wasnt meant to turn, it was used as a tug truck then converted to a daily monster by my brother and given to me as a bday present. making turns with the welded diff was the funniest thing, all you head my my ass end squealing and i got pulled over a few times for doing "burnouts" when i had to show the officer what was really happening XD
What about driving in the rain? Do you slide more? I'm thinking about getting a NB MX-5, 1.6, nothing fancy and like to get the diff welded if I get the car. It will be my first RWD (rwd's are really uncommon here, maybe 1 in 25 cars is a rwd) and I'd like to have some fun but I'm also afraid that fun might make a big hole in my pocket.
hey! Nice Lexus GS. Put in a manual transmission and a turbo swap, proper matching wheels (something conservative ;)), decent wide tyres... and you got a proper sleeper right there! A Honda killer lol!
Hey haggard garage , hey I want to know real quick how'd you make your Lexus really loud , did you straight pipe it or what , cause I bought a Lexus exactly the same one gs300 so I wanna know please , thanks you .
this is cool an all, sincerely and from experience, welding a diff and daily driving is not safe, one hard turn and ull might loose control, the problem is not your car but who you mistakenly hit.
Anyone knows if it'll be a pain in the ass to park? Some friends had told me I could get problems shutting doors closed, for example. Like it twists the car's body. I'm getting a 316i e30 next week and I'm not spending lot's of money on an lsd when i only have 105 hp, so should I get a spare diff and weld one of them?
I understand it's dirt cheap to weld a rear diff, but if you aren't driving a European or select Japanese car, bolt-in limited slip assemblies and even whole axles are available all over the aftermarket or in a junkyard for $200 - $500. An axle or trans specialist can install it for you for a few hundred more. If you daily that car for the normal life of a set of tires, you're going to buy at least one additional pair for the rear axle, probably more to get it to pass inspection due to uneven tread wear. Middle-of-the road performance tires cost $160 a piece after you've had them mounted, so why not just fork over a little more cash, save on tires, and have a car that can go around a corner at 55 mph in the rain without killing you?
Doesn't seem that bad, but I can't imagine taking roundabouts with a welded diff in the wet and not going sideways. London is saturated with mini roundabouts as well...
They filmed the wrong wheel for hop, the outside wheel when turning will hop more because it has a larger distance to cover but is locked to the opposite wheel which covers less distance.
+DeezNutts They mod the car, then sell it when they want to do something new. That is actually something very common. I think it was called "flipping cars" or something like that.
I had been on 1.5 way lsd because i daily my 350z on highway everyday. So i have a question if i weld the diff and even drive the car on highway. Is that good or bad, any happen if i drive the car welded diff on highway, 70 MPH. I'm so confusing because 1.5 and 2 way lsd little harder to drift than weld diff. Please let me now how bad and good? Should i weld the diff. I'm not a professional drifter, but have some fun many times in my life.
what is actually happening in the diff when the "hopping" was happening? I thought welding the diff just locked the tyres so they both span instead of the one driving wheel.
Filmed in Mexico should be a shirt

That damn Talon is like the best project car we could of had, the amount of power you can make out of a 4g63 for the money is insane, sad to see you guys not just keeping that as the project car like wtf?...

Did you not watch the video till the end?
+Chris do you not understand sarcasm. It's super easy to pick up.
+Chris joking.
+Leroy Butts do you not understand sarcasm?
New hair cut is mint
yes welded diff and auto transmission. makes sense.
Should mention the understeer when off throttle.
Is a safety issue if you don't expect and aren't used to it in an emergency stop situation.
Like the shirts!
What if you drive on a twisty wet road? That should be stressful if you have traffic around you
What sucks about welded diff is you can forget about driving it in snow/ice, Just going around the roundabout or taking a corner 10mph it's throwing the back around everywhere.
what's your problem with manuals gearboxes??
What's it like going back to school after the summer? and after your TH-cam blowing up? :)
Have the same car for about 2 years, Still loving it every day
Guys quit your complaining about the video length.. Its free entertainment they dont owe you shit.
Just had a huge wave of nostalgia, holy shit
Orion, Good job on the hair cut.
Rudnick gave him the haircut
when a 1.6 mx5 does better burnouts than cars 4x times its power

Haggard garage changed my life.

a lifted 4runner with a welded diff and 33's is stupid sketch when you corner. lmao, that Lexus seems so tame!
cba checking if anyone has mentioned this but another thing to note with a welded diff is that if u dont have power steering, ull have to work a fair bit harder to turn the wheel. i had one like that and it felt like i had to wrestle with the car to make it go where i wanted it to. the skipping of the inside rear wheel was exactly the same as in the video tho, no real problem.

Dailying a welded diff
*weld breaks*
Dailying an open diff 😂
I've been waiting for my daily dose of Haggard before work!
Good thing about lockers and welded diffs is you get evenly flat worn rear tires :)
fwd welded diff will be great project
thanks for showing us the welded diff in action. I have always wanted to do one, but was always scared off by the horror stories.
Here we go this is what I've waited for
your ricedout spoiler is heavier thn your car
whats the point in welding his diff? he automatic,
+PuppetMaster so what's the point of welding his diff then "Mr perfect English"? just to do a burnout?
it's mostly for drifting. you get more power and a more constant, stable drift when welding the diff. also when you burn out it just looks cool af lmao.
Isn't it wiser to get an up to 100% locking LSD?
Fox Mense but it's 100% all the time and a good LSD can go 100% to 1 wheel when needed and still free flow like an open diff when turning?
Fox Mense LSD is great if you have manual or have an automatic doesn't prevents the gears from going up automatically. Also you have to make sure your engine power is enough to break traction. The amount of wear on components is a lot higher like this. I really think drifting isn't worth it but if you run ultra bald hard tires it would be awesome. THANK GOD POS TALON IS FOR SALE!!!!! Im very Happy right now :)
welded diff stock GS , so Haggard, love this
The diff and drive shafts are going to be taking a beating when city driving.
Are the shirts decent quality? I bought a shirt recently (not from the same company) and the printing didn't survive a single wash and it's all cracked and peeling now so I'm really weary about buying random shirts on the internet now...
Dude when you weld the diff do you have to take it off or can you just prop up the rear end?
This notification just made my day
Get a supra! dual 2jz's :P
If only they had that much money
Wpythons Who know's maybe they got a hefty cash pile from the haggardwing "sale" :P

I would love to live the life these lads new to there channel but watched every video in like 2 to 3 days
What's dirt cheap on that talon? Sounds fun
my 89 silverado had a welded diff, welded gears, and welded ass end to traction bars. as you would proabaly guess she wasnt meant to turn, it was used as a tug truck then converted to a daily monster by my brother and given to me as a bday present. making turns with the welded diff was the funniest thing, all you head my my ass end squealing and i got pulled over a few times for doing "burnouts" when i had to show the officer what was really happening XD
I have a 2001 gs300 and i want to weld the diff... It comes with lsd like the 350z or just a normal open diff??? Please help me guys i want to know
What about driving in the rain? Do you slide more? I'm thinking about getting a NB MX-5, 1.6, nothing fancy and like to get the diff welded if I get the car.
It will be my first RWD (rwd's are really uncommon here, maybe 1 in 25 cars is a rwd) and I'd like to have some fun but I'm also afraid that fun might make a big hole in my pocket.
have you tried driving in the wet with a welded diff, maybe try a roundabout
Hey bro where do you go to school and for what?
I have the same car mines black with tan interior though. 2jz baby!
hey! Nice Lexus GS. Put in a manual transmission and a turbo swap, proper matching wheels (something conservative ;)), decent wide tyres... and you got a proper sleeper right there! A Honda killer lol!
orion now that you daily the gs300 are you gonna lower the miata again
Hey haggard garage , hey I want to know real quick how'd you make your Lexus really loud , did you straight pipe it or what , cause I bought a Lexus exactly the same one gs300 so I wanna know please , thanks you .
this is cool an all, sincerely and from experience, welding a diff and daily driving is not safe, one hard turn and ull might loose control, the problem is not your car but who you mistakenly hit.

I'm getting a 316i e30 next week and I'm not spending lot's of money on an lsd when i only have 105 hp, so should I get a spare diff and weld one of them?
and that is how you snap axles, but it is fun fun to drive
you were showing the inside wheel during the turn, with the welded diff ,its the outside wheel that isn't spinning fast enough.
I understand it's dirt cheap to weld a rear diff, but if you aren't driving a European or select Japanese car, bolt-in limited slip assemblies and even whole axles are available all over the aftermarket or in a junkyard for $200 - $500. How have you not cut and polished you're L/H headlight yet?????
rain with that welded diff will be fun
nice video! finally someone who did explain and show how it is.
Doesn't seem that bad, but I can't imagine taking roundabouts with a welded diff in the wet and not going sideways. London is saturated with mini roundabouts as well...
How about turning radius? Have you felt any difference when you went from open differencial to welded diff?
Cam should've shown the outside tire when Orion was turning at full lock from outside the car. Glad you're getting rid of the Talon, that shit sucked.
I knew the talon wouldn't last long. but I hope this next car does.
I hope it's a sil80 or a maybe even is300
I got GS300 and I'm wondering does effect MPG? Weighing up pros and cons welding the differential.
Yup I am gonna daily my full spool!
How serious was the accident the Lexus was in?
You guys made it onto 1320s Facebook with this car!
The good old days of haggard garage
Get a oneplus one it's cheap as fuck and shoots 4k so it's definitely optimal for you
holy shit the oneplus one films in 4k??? how much is it 100? bc the gs6 is 200 but still films in 4k
one plus one is like 200 still
+TheDolanizor one plus one cost like 300 unlocked. the gs6 cost 700 unlocked
+Flobbi Jobbi ohh for the unlocked prices damn 300 thats good
well honestly unless im watching haggard garage on my tv, 4k will be useless.
You know it's bad when you see a Miata with a huge wing and it looks normal
stock traction control still work with a welded diff?
why wouldn't it.
robledesma15 traction control should work but stability control might not
They filmed the wrong wheel for hop, the outside wheel when turning will hop more because it has a larger distance to cover but is locked to the opposite wheel which covers less distance.
Makes sense.
the e36 was horrible lol!! thanks for the advice mate much appreciated :)
This channel has turned into a big craigslist ad. It used to be about the cars.
I'm sorry, don't you want them to be able to sell their cars to they can get knew ones to build and mess with?
+DeezNutts They mod the car, then sell it when they want to do something new. That is actually something very common. I think it was called "flipping cars" or something like that.
just cause they're advertising a car so they can receive money to buy another project car for their viewers?
You could just buy full posi for like 300 bucks and save money in the long run due to excessive tire ware.
Plus the dif is horribly out of balance so inner bearings are gonna go out. Rebuilt difs anyone?
I had been on 1.5 way lsd because i daily my 350z on highway everyday.
So i have a question if i weld the diff and even drive the car on highway. Is that good or bad, any happen if i drive the car welded diff on highway, 70 MPH.
I'm so confusing because 1.5 and 2 way lsd little harder to drift than weld diff.
Please let me now how bad and good? Should i weld the diff.
I'm not a professional drifter, but have some fun many times in my life.
Orion's new haircut is mint!
THAT FUCKING WING LMAO
Dread Simulator 2k16 to be the best
Car noob here. What are the down sides of a welded diff?
boss. thanks. im weld my celica 82 for drifting :) .excellent video showing a daily driver.
what about high speed cornering, like 100 km/h?
When haggardgarage uploads 😀
The sony xperia series takes pretty good videos/photos if you're about that life.
Im trying get a manual lsd for my is300, and im gonna start dailying it
Couldn't feel mine on the highway, but in a tight parking space with a 5spd, it was hell
What pipe have you got on that? I wanna get a XLR8 pipe for my Acura TL.
what is actually happening in the diff when the "hopping" was happening? I thought welding the diff just locked the tyres so they both span instead of the one driving wheel.
Did he say he would like it better if it was boosted? Cause im pretty sure a 2JZ engine is a twin-turbo inline 6.
I think Toyota made some n/a 2JZ
not sure who it was but i met ur boy who goes to scranton he had a haggard garage shirt on
