- Eine Gesso-Struktur im Untergrund gibt hier die Inspiration zur Ausarbeitung mit Farbe - ein interessanter Prozess! A gesso structure in the background gives here the inspiration for the elaboration with color - an interesting process!
Auch Gesso lässt sich verwenden, um zarte Strukturen für einen Hintergrund zu bekommen. Durch den anschließenden Farbauf- und -abtrag kommen Strukturen zum Vorschein, die ein Leitfaden für meine weitere Ausarbeitung sind. In diesem Video kann man noch einmal besonders gut sehen, wie wichtig es ist, ein Augenmerk auf die Kontraste zu legen. Sie sind entscheidend für die Bildwirkung.
Gesso can also be used to get delicate structures for a background. Through the subsequent color application and removal, structures come to light, which are a guide for my further elaboration. In this video you can once again see particularly well how important it is to pay attention to the contrasts. They are crucial for the effect of the image.

It's always a fascinating adventure to watch you create, Gerda! So many processes and such varied results! I know you use acrylic "binder" a lot, and I've seen others use it on their videos, and I'm curious what brand of binder you use and where do you buy it? also, where did you get that wonderful large palette knife you used for the gesso?
Hello and thank you very much! I use acrylic binders from different brands. There are two specialty stores near me here (Boesner and Gerstaecker) that also have house brands. These are cheap and good. I have had my palette knife for a long time.... unfortunately I can no longer read the brand on the handle. But you get such knives in good (online) specialty stores.
