    Yeah, what he said- this is NOT a Chrysler Imperial- it is an Imperial Crown. Stand it next to a 1960 Chrysler, and you will see that there are no shared parts, inside or out, with the possible exception of a knob or other small item.
    And, courtesy of "Uncle Tom" McCahill of Mechanix Illustrated, the taillights with the chromed rings- 1955 through 1962- are fondly known as "sparrow-strainers" to serious Imperial owners and enthusiasts, just as the wingspan eagle symbol is a "ruptured coot, also thanks to Tom McCahill.

    The front seat backs are backwards XD the bigger one is supposed to be on the driver side, such a weird oversight for something that priced at a top level restoration. I get that its a 2dr crown with a few uncommon options, but I just dont see 75k here

    • @jamesdavidharris6695
      @jamesdavidharris6695 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike, exactly the point I was going to make about the seat backs. Obviously switched during recovering, either by choice or mistake. The higher side was a selling point for driver fatigue support. They definitely need to source or re-create that missing trim piece for such a high price point. All that said, this is a gorgeous example if the price were much more reasonable. Interestingly, Italian Pinin Farina Ghia made a 1960 4 door into a custom limousine used by Mrs. Kennedy in the WH and very visible during the funeral cortege of her husband. Wonder whatever happened to it; a gorgeous design as a stretched limo! 👍

    🍁🇨🇦🍁Absolutely Stunning vehicle. The trunk lid with the illusion of a spare was also known as the toilet seat which I thought was crude.

    This is a very beautiful vehicle, and I have always loved these Imperials. It seems to me that they could have had that missing piece fabricated when they were doing the restoration. Since it's not a very long or intricate piece, it should have been very easy to have a reproduction crafted!!

    • @jeffcampbell2710
      @jeffcampbell2710 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not restored. Just a repaint, chrome work. Interior had bad chrome, original covers, engine bay original with a few things repainted, like the breather, and it looked like cheap spray paint. Look like a new Harness.

      Shame he never mentioned the automatic headlight dimmer in the middle of dash behind the steering wheel along with the front swivel seat lever along side the the power seat control?🤔🤨 Without wishing to be critical he Seemed pretty uninformed about the car in general to me!!!🧐🙄🤭

  • @mickiemack2748
    @mickiemack2748 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Not only is this car missing the right front trim piece, the taillights are quite cloudy looking and should be replaced - at 90K everything on this car should be PERFECT! Overall a really beautiful automobile though.

    • @jeffcampbell2710
      @jeffcampbell2710 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interior is original, but needs redone for $90.000!!! I think they painted it, some chrome, and realized it need much more spent on it. Probably gave too much for it to start, didn't realize what it would cost.

    Also missing the Imperial medallion over each headlight.
    That car also has swivel front seats, that's what the lever is for in front of the power seat switch.

    The other commentors are correct about the trunk decor--it was nick named the toilet seat. The 413 is a good engine. My first car was a '64 Chrysler New Yorker with the 413. And it held up to my young self.
    The Beach Boys included the 413 in their song Shut Down "...and the 413's really diggin' in."

    The “Bird Bath” is called a “Flitesweep” rear deck, and was an option that became available for Imperial in 1957. It later became an option on Plymouth in 1959, and Chrysler in 1960. It became standard on all Valiants as well up until the end of the Exner era. 3:00

    I am with the other commenters for 90,000 they could’ve remanufactured that part or at least come up with a facsimile. A good metal shop would’ve been able to make one up. Also those tail lights don’t look like they belong on the concourse restoration as this is priced to be

    • @darthhemi1735
      @darthhemi1735 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you can find that trim part easily... it needs the medallions on the front also and the front seats are backwards!! it shows an good but flawed restore... he's asking a bit much for a restore with minor flaws. Fix it 100% and itll bring 70. Its still a very nice car, just needs perfected.
