@@amstrad79b lol...I was wondering when the odd c64 fanboi would show up... You guys just can't help yourselves, can you? 😀 You know, oddly enough I've jotted down a whole list of multiplatform games that are better on the CPC and that's not even counting modern releases and CPC exclusives (i.e. from the post '90s era of the CPC, after its motorola CRTC chip was rediscovered), which, unlike old games, took advantage of the CPC's hardware scrolling, split-screen and sprites capabilities... As for the music, I prefer the AY's crisp, clear sound to the sid's muffled, meowing cat-like sound. The AY started to sing after Soundtrakker was released and used in many games/demos. Now we also have Arkos tracker, which is even more advanced (that's debatable). That, plus the fact that the CPC's built-in mono speaker was the epitome of *crappy* quality (whereas the c64 was hooked onto a TV set, which automatically offers better sound quality...), contributed to this misconception that the CPC doesn't have good sound. Thankfully, things have changed since then. 😃
@@amstrad79b Can you please give us an example of any real Commodore 64 game that has this level of graphics, speed and scrolling? Most commercial games were better on the C64 because it sold many millions more than the Amstrad and more efforts were put into it.
Phenomenal conversion! This game blew people away when it appeared on the Amiga. To think that this is an Amstrad version is all the more impressive! (I'm still not sure I can even believe this really is a CPC!) This conversion is so accurate in every detail, it feels more like an emulation. The only tiny way I can fault this is the intro music for Beat Box, which is missing drums, and that was an important part of that tune.
I had a CPC. It was a great all rounder. My parents used it for word processing for their business till '94, I did my school and college work on it and gamed. It might not have been the best games platform but plenty of kids had one. The joke machine back then was the VIC20 (only because it was a previous generation but ya know, kids) the CPC, Speccy and C64 were the main ones we had. Rich kids got the Amiga when it came out. Does it play on the gx4000 with the c4cpc cart ?
Yes I think, because it works well with an HXC.
Let's hope that GX4000 hasn't exploded yet.

yes
The CPC hw scroll is very bad. It's jerky 4 pixel horizontal hw scroll... not smooth at all.

Oui
This is nice and all, but the c64 was better when it counted. Have fun playing your cpc in 2020 talking about what might have been lol.
