Kaeya is often overlooked but honestly he is a solid on/off field DPS and cryo battery, he has the most straightforward kit and spammable burst. As Dish said before, if Kaeya was not a starter character and his cons were easily obtainable, everyone would want him

Honestly there's something about pyro characters lol, I feel like most characters using different elements are pretty versatile and have one or many situations where they shine in more or less, but that's not the same for pyro characters lol. If they are not good dps, they're pretty much just trash and don't have other uses. Even for geo characters whom most people usually think of as not being versatile and only fit best in mono geo teams, we actually have Zhongli and Albedo who offer good shielding and some damage, Yun Jin as an atk buffer, and Noelle as a good on field driver who is self sustained and wouldn't steal reactions. So even though there's quite a lot of pyro characters, there's only a few usuable or frequently used ones which makes it feel like there's less characters using pyro than other elements
I just use Amber as a Quickswap Burst with 4PC Emblem and Favonious Warbow. Amber's Burst hits like a Truck....and Can apply multiple Melts in 2 seconds...for a 40 energy cost...Great at shield breaking if you need it. (Just think of her Baron Bunny as something you throw out ASAP just to get Energy to fill up her Burst)
I'm always happy to see some love for Kaeya. I loved him from the first time he showed up in the game and started using him as a Main DPS as soon as I got him! I'm currently VERY excited for Ayaka's rerun, because then I can finally get the "Mistsplitter" for him (have been saving for this weapon since months!). I also got lucky on the standard banner and already have his C3. Currently farming his talent books so I can crown him (my first crowned character, even though I still need better artifacts for him! 😅). Thank you for this guide!
Good luck with the Mistsplitter. That Crit DMG bonus is very nice with a cryo build since you’ll get Crit Rate from that :) And Calamity queller isn’t a bad weapon to get on the way if you don’t get the sword at once 😊 I had to suffer through two frigging Unforged claymores to get it last year 😢 but it was wort it in the end. Kaeya hits way more :)

I also saved the primos to get him the Mistsplitter. After two years playing I am so very thankfull he choose to come home. Get his c6 after 8 months of playing. I still can't belive my luck! So for me it was clear that if this sword comes around, I will do anything to get it for him. He really deserves it. He is tripple crowned and still my Main and I don't regret anything I give him. He carrys me trough the hardest content, even in the Abyss.
kaeya was my first main and play him on and off still. he really helped with getting past those horrible consecrated beasts in 12-2 this abyss with being able to freeze them in place as a fourth in my hyperbloom team and for that im very grateful to him
Even though I'm late to this, but this is not good... Kaeya's burst has standard ICD, so every 3rd hit will do melt, Kaeya can be a good battery for a reverse melt Rosaria

I love Kaeya and how simple his kit is. It’s so fun messing around with different builds just to see what he does. I run physical kaeya (2p pale flame, 2p bloodstained) though normally lol I just like seeing him ;-; (Yes I’m a kaeya main)
I love playing physical build too coz I love seeing him on screen, slashing enemies 😂 We Kaeya mains do love our boy's screentime moments, that's why it's a blessing that his playstyle is so versatile 🥰
I have six of them tbh. I was incredible lucky get them after just 8 months playing. And I am ftp btw. Now 2 years later, he is still my Main. He will never loose this position. I play him in freeze, fridge, melt or physical. You can really throw him in all of this and he will do the Job... It never gets boring
Used kaeya this abyss with Diluc in forward melt, it was amazing, its really beating vaporize especially in multi target scenarios, Im just waiting to get his C2 for more cryo uptime
I did a reverse melt Kaeya in the second half, after finally getting him a more or less solid build. Bennett, Xiangling and Kazuha were a nice team for him hehe Also, thanks to his NA being lvl 10 he was on field most of the time and added some damage hehe
It’s great to get updated views on older characters. Than you 😊 Kaeya is my favourite forever project. At AR60 he’s lvl 90, C4, triple crowned, currently on 4pc cryo and Mistsplitter. (Still trying to get better pieces with abysmal artefact luck.) I was lucky to get Xingqiu from my first ever pulls so Kaeya+Xingqui have been my trusted combo from the start and basically never left my party. Dendro team variations have been most interesting lately. But I’m thinking Shenhe and Mika banner might give new options for both cryo build and testing out physical again :)
Started building Kaeya days ago after getting C6 and used him for a reverse melt comp. Its honestly kinda ridiculous how much damage the team can dish out. Very wallet-friendly too as the members are all 4 stars
I'm not sure if I'm gonna be amazed by the thought of you using all 4 stars dishing out big numbers or the fact that you were able to get him C6 I'm so darn envious... I only have C2 😭 Should've started playing this game 2 years ago 😭
@@vermillionorange C2 is good enough and if you really like him then keep buying the paimon bargain whenever he appear, you will reach C6 sooner or later. For now you can focus in getting good support for him like Kazuha and shenhe for mono cryo or freeze team and maybe aim to get a 5 star weapon and your Kaeya will be able to dish out pretty hefty number as well and easily clear any content that doesn't negate cryo damage
@@vermillionorange thats the beauty of the comp though. Its a 3 dps comp. So you can have three semi-built units and still dish out high, sustained damage.
I recently started a f2p alt account and really rediscovered Kaeya. My fav team with him is the deathball (sayu kaeya xl benny) which consist to counterclock kaeya and xl burst with sayu rolling 🥲. It’s very fun and quite efficient to farm emblem, but mostly extremely fun. I would love to play him freeze and phys in the futur, and the 2d part of this patch could be very interesting (mistsplitter, shenhe and mika !). Ty for this very well timed video !

Kaeya is really good. He is definitely overshadowed by the two giantesses of Cryo DPS in Ayaka and Ganyu (literally the top 2 dps in game) but if you don't have either. He's very much POG
Thanks for the guide, very much appreciated. My current Kaeya is C2 and always been a personal favorite character. After being benched early on by Rosaria, or just no overall use of cryo unit, I got encouraged by TH-camrs and started to build him for real. I’m a slow builder and only started to crown a few mains, but I think Kaeya deserves it. My teams are heavily dendro focused and good to know fridge and hyper fridge are useful.
Lmao idk why I'm watching this since my kaeya is triple crowned and all but nice guide, easy to understand ! And yeah he's f2p friendly and easy to play, also for support he has low energy burst cost !! I'm saving wishes to get him mistplitter, will be better than blackliff !
It is actually amazing that such a powerful character is given to us for free at the very start of the game, whereas many less valuable 4* characters can only be obtained by pulling on the banners.
I have Childe as my first 5 star (aside from Traveller) so my freeze tram consists of Childe, Kaeya, Xingqui and Chongyun as my beginner team and they carried me to where I am now
Great guide Sevy! Altough, I have to mention a thing. Kaeya from c1 up to c6 don't need so much energy. 130 to 140 is enough to have his burst always ready. Yes even as the solo cryo. Save the sets with enery two pcs for chars that really need them like Beidou, Mona and so on
My favorite character ever! He was the one you kill Stromterror and Tartaglia when I din't know what is an artefact. He also gives the last strike to Abyss Heradl in Dain's quest

Kaeya's my first favorite in this game and I recently started revisiting building him up. I've got a goal of eventually C6ing him though he's only C3 for now (alas). Still, I have enough starglitter saved up to yoink him when he shows up in the shop again and I keep hoping I"ll get lucky (I already have once!) enough to get him from the standard banner so I don't have to wait a whole year+ to get him there.
I actually got Kaeya's C6 yesterday. The fact I've gotten each of the three starters on the standard banner twice makes me suspect there's a hidden guarantee of getting them, like the minimum of one 5 star weapon and character each for every 270 wishes.

I'm playing since 1.0 and the moment Kaeya joined me I mained him until this day. My first 5* weapon was the Aquila, and my first 4* character was Beidou, so I first built him as a physical dps. Now I also have a Mistsplitter and 3 really good artifacts sets (the 4th is currently being leveled), he's triple crowned and c6. Everything for my Khaenri'ahn King. He carried me through the first three regions and half of sumeru and I only played him alongside Aether. Both are enough to crush the overworld enemies. Scara joined my throne(s) of favorites, so now I'm juggling between those two. He's so underrated.
Was recently playing mono cryo with my friends against bosses and really I only have kaeya and layla leveled so I used Kaeya and threw some artifacts on him and had a blast and he was doing some nice dmg! I mained him until AR 41 but at that point I didn't have good artifscts at all so now I at least wanna have him built to flex him in!
Kaeya is my OG main and I still play him literally all the time. I'm glad to see I'm mostly on the right track with my artefacts lol. I'm pulling for Mistsplitter next and giving him the CD BS circlet. Always glad to see Kaeya getting some love :D
so happy to see some love for my fav!! idc if he's not /thaaaat/ meta but i still consistently 36* abyss with him so im not too fussed hehehe i mainly play him in freeze teams in either quickswap freeze or onfield carry (like kaeyaka kanfsjkhfjsh) but i also enjoy playing him in reverse melt and as a melt support for diluc! i got him to c6 (exchanged for cons + a few lucky times i got his con from standard), triple crowned him, got r1 mistsplitter for him and now im gna get shenhe for him!
Wondering if you will be doing an Ayaka guide for her rerun. I love your guides and If I knew you'd release one, I'd wait for it instead of looking somewhere else since I plan on getting her and trying her out in both freeze and mono-cryo. Kaeya was my og dps he carried my starting days easily because of the Barbara + Kaeya combo on the open world.. I love him sm that I even have 2 builds for him Physical and Freeze
I use 4pc Crimson Witch for Kaeya with pyro cup and Harran Gepakku Futsu in tandem with C6 Bennett. He self melts enemies so hard it's like casting incendio on an ice cream XD
i built this guy bcs i pulled an aquila favonia when i was starting out then i triple crowend him out of spite for not managing to pull eula after pre farming the perfect pale flame set or her. im glad i did that because now owning most of the 5* units in this game he still carries my arse through 36 starring the spiral abyss from time to time
I C6'd Bennett just for Kaeya. I added Zonghli and Kazuha and I can sometimes reach 100k on a reverse melt E! Plus then he gets infused with pyro while his burst is up and we get that damage too. Love it and I love Kaeya.
Honestly i'm back with my kaeya obsession cause he looks so fine with the new free skin :') i used to main him before i got my first 5 star, then he became my main sub-dps when i started maining Diluc. Stopped playing him so often but still love him sm, i actually named my cat after him

Kaeya my main and favorite character!!! He's the reason I got into Genshin. I always bring him in my Abyss runs. My favorite teams to run with him are Reverse Melt, Freeze and Hyperfridge

I sacrificed a lot for Kaeya... pulled Kokomi, so he could stay in Ayaka's team, and pulled Wanderer for star glitter to get his con. So now no Shenhe just Kaeya improvement xd
Back in December (last year), I madly farmed primos and pulled on the standard banner to get enough 34 starglitters to be able to buy him from the shop 😂

i wish the genshin tierlist had some more tiers... like it used to have it's so annoying how they keep changing it kaeya being in the same tier as xinyan and dehya doesn't feel right
Kaeya is def one of the best investments I’ve made. I got his C1 by chance and decided to use him because of that and I have no regrets. He’s become a second main and I currently have him at C3
Thanks for making this! Mine has been stuck at C1 for a long time but lately I've been thinking about building him. He's my only husbando who is not built up with a proper kit yet. I might work on him and see how he does helping Childe.

KQM updated their Kaeya guide too actually lol. Most of them have been updated. These videos are basically just audiobooks of those KQM guides.

Kaeya has been an integral part of my Ganyu freeze team and has cleared abyss for me since Ganyu was released, his kit is so simple and useful.

Kaeya is better than Rosaria in freeze teams all thanks to his 2nd passive and the fact that you don't need CR in freeze teams that much

I'm a main Kaeya since day 1. I just love him so much. My kaeya is triple crowned and C5, I got 2 cons in a single 10 pull once!
I use Rosaria for specific teams where I might want Crit Rate or I'm stable but if Im moving around a lot, I'll for sure bring Kaeya

Most of the time a two piece EM and two piece BS will do the Job great in melt. But if your BS pieces are better you can stuck on them.
this is probably one of my favorite go to contents whenever Kaeya gets talked and discussed about. I am forever thankful for him even though i havent been using him but seeing this guide I automatically lvl him up to 90 and will farm on those artifact domains and give the best for my Husband. he deserves it. Kaeya is really good. He is definitely overshadowed by the two giantesses of Cryo DPS in Ayaka and Ganyu (literally the top 2 dps in game) but if you don't have either. He's very much POG
Thanks for the guide, very much appreciated. My current Kaeya is C2 and always been a personal favorite character. After being benched early on by Rosaria, or just no overall use of cryo unit, I got encouraged by TH-camrs and started to build him for real. I’m a slow builder and only started to crown a few mains, but I think Kaeya deserves it. My teams are heavily dendro focused and good to know fridge and hyper fridge are useful.

It is actually amazing that such a powerful character is given to us for free at the very start of the game, whereas many less valuable 4* characters can only be obtained by pulling on the banners.

I have Childe as my first 5 star (aside from Traveller) so my freeze tram consists of Childe, Kaeya, Xingqui and Chongyun as my beginner team and they carried me to where I am now

Altough, I have to mention a thing. Kaeya from c1 up to c6 don't need so much energy. 130 to 140 is enough to have his burst always ready. Yes even as the solo cryo.
Save the sets with enery two pcs for chars that really need them like Beidou, Mona and so on

Kaeya's my first favorite in this game and I recently started revisiting building him up. I've got a goal of eventually C6ing him though he's only C3 for now (alas). Still, I have enough starglitter saved up to yoink him when he shows up in the shop again and I keep hoping I"ll get lucky (I already have once!) enough to get him from the standard banner so I don't have to wait a whole year+ to get him there.
I actually got Kaeya's C6 yesterday. The fact I've gotten each of the three starters on the standard banner twice makes me suspect there's a hidden guarantee of getting them, like the minimum of one 5 star weapon and character each for every 270 wishes.

I'm playing since 1.0 and the moment Kaeya joined me I mained him until this day. My first 5* weapon was the Aquila, and my first 4* character was Beidou, so I first built him as a physical dps. Now I also have a Mistsplitter and 3 really good artifacts sets (the 4th is currently being leveled), he's triple crowned and c6. Everything for my Khaenri'ahn King. He carried me through the first three regions and half of sumeru and I only played him alongside Aether. Both are enough to crush the overworld enemies. Scara joined my throne(s) of favorites, so now I'm juggling between those two. He's so underrated.
Before I became a Kazuha main, I was a Kaeya main. He is still one of my favorite characters today!

Was recently playing mono cryo with my friends against bosses and really I only have kaeya and layla leveled so I used Kaeya and threw some artifacts on him and had a blast and he was doing some nice dmg! I mained him until AR 41 but at that point I didn't have good artifscts at all so now I at least wanna have him built to flex him in!
Kaeya is my OG main and I still play him literally all the time. I'm glad to see I'm mostly on the right track with my artefacts lol. I'm pulling for Mistsplitter next and giving him the CD BS circlet. Always glad to see Kaeya getting some love :D
Wish there was easier ways to get his constellations they should rate up them
so happy to see some love for my fav!! idc if he's not /thaaaat/ meta but i still consistently 36* abyss with him so im not too fussed hehehe i mainly play him in freeze teams in either quickswap freeze or onfield carry (like kaeyaka kanfsjkhfjsh) but i also enjoy playing him in reverse melt and as a melt support for diluc!
i got him to c6 (exchanged for cons + a few lucky times i got his con from standard), triple crowned him, got r1 mistsplitter for him and now im gna get shenhe for him!
Wondering if you will be doing an Ayaka guide for her rerun. I love your guides and If I knew you'd release one, I'd wait for it instead of looking somewhere else since I plan on getting her and trying her out in both freeze and mono-cryo.

Kaeya was my og dps he carried my starting days easily because of the Barbara + Kaeya combo on the open world.. I love him sm that I even have 2 builds for him Physical and Freeze
I use 4pc Crimson Witch for Kaeya with pyro cup and Harran Gepakku Futsu in tandem with C6 Bennett. He self melts enemies so hard it's like casting incendio on an ice cream XD

I C6'd Bennett just for Kaeya. I added Zonghli and Kazuha and I can sometimes reach 100k on a reverse melt E! Plus then he gets infused with pyro while his burst is up and we get that damage too. Love it and I love Kaeya.

Kaeya my main and favorite character!!! He's the reason I got into Genshin. I always bring him in my Abyss runs. My favorite teams to run with him are Reverse Melt, Freeze and Hyperfridge

Kaeya is often ignored as a starter. He's been my Abyss mainstay for sometime, after I got C1 and he's still there, now at C6

I sacrificed a lot for Kaeya... pulled Kokomi, so he could stay in Ayaka's team, and pulled Wanderer for star glitter to get his con. So now no Shenhe just Kaeya improvement xd
Back in December (last year), I madly farmed primos and pulled on the standard banner to get enough 34 starglitters to be able to buy him from the shop 😂

if you are a long time player, i highly auggest getting kaeya cons in the shop. i got at least c2 (his best con next to c6 imo) and i dont regret it. very versatile

Kaeya is def one of the best investments I’ve made. I got his C1 by chance and decided to use him because of that and I have no regrets. He’s become a second main and I currently have him at C3

Am I crazy or did they change his C2 description at some point? I swear it used to say something like "enemies killed *by* Glacial Waltz increases it duration" but now it's just enemies defeated during the duration.
