She is a legend. In honesty this is the first time I've ever seen Elaine struggle in a performance - she doesn't seem comfortable for whatever reason, and the poorly-balanced vocal/orchestral sound doesn't help. Also I think the conductor is mis-credited here, that's Chris Egan, which is Musical Director for most of Elaine's concert work. Good to see this up nonetheless!
Absolutely amazing remember she was singing live in a pour weather conditions seen Elaine Paige many time and I think she deliver a great performance at this Proms 🤗 seen Elaine in the Royal Albert Hall Many time the acoustic was better but remember she was live in this occasion so give credit when credit is due C

Having seen EP at the Apollo in the 90's, this makes me a little sad, it sounds like she is singing through her nose. There comes a time........ PS. there is only ONE Norma Desmond PATTI LUPONE
The editing of this clip is infuriating. Elaine Paige is giving a wonderful performance but the director has the cameras cutting away from her at all the wrong times. I wish we could see the performance that Elaine is giving and not a close up of the violinist’ s blow.
