- Good Day Everyone,
Eric here with another Daily Shave!
Today’s featured products are by Hawkins & Brimble out of London, England.
This analysis will be quite different from others I have done previously on this channel. That is because this is a much different line of products than we’re accustomed to reviewing. Hawkins and Brimble are not an artisan soap company per se; they are a luxury line of men’s grooming products that include shaving cream, aftershave balm, facial scrub and wash, lotion, beard oil, etc. With that in mind, I wanted to take this review a different direction and not hold these products to the same standards as we would traditional artisan products or classic wet shaving products. I really wanted to measure this company by the standards in which they are attempting to perform within.
Upon reviewing their website and looking over their product line, I can’t confidently draw the conclusion that are going to offer a variety of shaving creams. This might be it. And if that’s the case, what is their identity? Well, I would liken Hawkins & Brimble to a Jack Black, American Crew, Redken For Men, Paul Mitchell and the like. So knowing that is our basis point, how does Hawkins & Brimble measure up? Quite well, actually. The shaving cream has a very familiar scent to it. It is a scent reminiscent of premium men’s product lines that contain natural, skin nourishing ingredients. It won’t be a standout fragrance, but shavers will find it pleasant.
The performance is on par with what you’d expect from a men’s grooming line. The lather is easy to build and can take an acceptable amount of amount of water. It won’t be peaky and voluminous, but it will be a luxurious layer of protection that you’ll find to be adequate. It is certainly an upgrade from the mass produced gunk you’ll find at local stores.
Hawkins & Brimble will be good for travel, for men looking for a good quality product but are not seeking to head down the wet shaving rabbit hole, or will make a nice addition to your wet shaving den/collection.
They’re worth checking out and deliver the quality we’ve come to expect from England based companies.
Till next time…
God bless you guys!

Hope your wife is understanding I went into the rabbit hole as well as my wife’s rabbit hole and almost got buried in the quicksand so I’ve had to cut back drastically on my purchases but I managed to pass off some of my stuff to my grandsons who are now wet shavers and loving it. Enjoyed the video.
Sounds like you have the whole family involved in the hobby! That’s awesome! It’s very easy to be overtaken by this hobby. I’ve had to cut back as well.
I picked this up as a partial impulse buy at Cracker Barrel. I had a good 1st shave with it this morning.
I’m ready to get more soaps, say 6-8 new ones... I currently have 45
Just make sure to get the matching splashes. 😁
Great review, interesting to see the new products and alternatives
Thank you, brother! This is definitely an alternative or an addition to your rotation.
Nicely done Eric💈💈 H&B is not available in my two horse town, neither is anything else really. Sad but true, Walgreens carries Gillette 0 and Cremo but it's brushless. Walmart carries Harry's...??? and some off the wall stuff. So, I do what I did today, place another order with Tallow & Steel or WCS or Maggards or Shave Nation or Bullgoose or PAA or Razor Emporium or, or, or... you get the point. I'm not going to do without simply because I live in "Hicksville".. Any way, getting way off topic which by the way gave you a nice shave for little money, well done. Great video and sorry for the epic novel of a comment. Stay blessed and safe. Enjoy!
The places you’ve mentioned are where my focus is primarily (product-wise). I haven’t encountered anything exciting on my store shelves either, and I live in California. I have to order through WCS or direct from the artisan to get the products I enjoy. Thank you for the comment and your viewership! God bless you, brother!
Definitely looks like a good travel alternative, like the Fine "Tube creams" from a couple of years back. Great video, Eric! How did the scent fare? Does it hang around, or is it at least noticeable? Have a great week! 😁
It’s noticeable, but not a standout of the product. I’d say the properties of the product are what differentiate it from store bought items. Thank you for your continued support, Chris!
Which is better in terms of performance h&b or maca root shaving cream?
Hi, I have a question. I am new to de shaving having switched from a cartridge system and am using this shaving cream. I am having problems with shaving my neck.
I am getting cuts and irritation. Would another product be better? I would appreciate any advice, thanks.
It could be a few things I.e shaving technique to soap ingredients to also how sensitive your skin is but this soap is quite mild compared to say mitchells wool fat why not try proraso white thats a very mild soap and good on the skin.
