Silent Night. An Uncle of mine used to wrap gifts in the Sunday comics, they were in colour, I always thought it was funny and liked to read the “wrap”. It became my go to for birthday wrap. I think about using reusable bags but I love the ripping open of paper especially for little kids it feels more exciting. We recycle it all and reuse the ribbons and bows. For baby showers I sew a blanket and wrap the gift inside the blanket. Merry Christmas to All!
Today’s marathon! Wow! Just an amazing selection of goodies and projects. I like the look of elegant coordinated Christmas trees and the presents under it, in magazines. But that’s not how we fly, lol. My husband loves the look from his childhood, so we do all large light bulbs in multi colors (C-7s) and all the glass ornaments to match. I’m cheap and buy dollar store wrap. Christmas morning is chaotic enough without the poorly buried appalled feeling of all that very expensive waste paper that was so recently under the elegant trees going into the fireplace or landfill.
I embroider dish towels with everybody's name. I put the presents into the cloth and tie it up. Each person gets a bundle of gifts. We also take turns opening the presents, youngest to oldest, so we can see what everyone gets and can thank each person. A generic flour sack towel can be part if a present for gift exchange. No favorite Christmas 🎄 song.
I buy reversible paper so I can fold the paper in a way to see the back. And it makes for pretty gifts. Then I reverse the other way. And I put candy on instead bows , jelly belly ‘ lollipops this year. And a dark chocolate bar. Everyone loves the treats
Good evening Holly! ☃️♥️ I am very happy for you having some snow!❄️ At this moment, lol, Silent Night, but I like many! Thank you for opening 3 days on this video. I have been watching, these last few days have been a bit over scheduled! Lol I hope you have a few days doing what you want or need to do and can enjoy this special time! I usually get some cute Christmas chicken paper 😂 at Tractor Supply , I wrap some and when I get in a time crunch, the bags come out! One thing with the bags, they are reused, I like that! Thank you Holly, I enjoy you so much!! 😊
O’ Holy Night is my favorite Christmas song. I buy Christmas paper after Christmas for the sales. But good idea to start looking for recyclable paper. I also like to do goody baskets. Thank you for sharing your advent boxes! By the way,an ornament from me is on the way. Was delayed getting it but hopefully you will get it in time for Christmas! ~ Doreen B 🌼💜🦋
I love to wrap, and presentation is very important to me. My husband jokes that the wrapping is often nicer than the gift (only sometimes true). I use a different paper for each recipient. I use real ribbon and make real bows. No stick-ons, and no bags! I also like to add "package toppers" which can range from dollar store items to expensive ornaments (purchased after Christmas for next year if I can). I like "Oh Holy Night" as it's very dramatic and enjoyable to sing. Merry Christmas everyone!
Holly, Eclectic Quilter has a phenomenal advent box! You should check it out! I am watching Carolina Moore open it and am vey jelly! Definitely getting in on this one next year!
I love the Christmas Stitchery project, I do not know how to Embroider, but I’d give it a shot, so pretty. The 1/2 yard cut of fabric, so pretty. From Day 23 Love the project from Soft Squares great to do it and gift it already made. I love O Holy Night. Bella Rose did the best advent besides the Soft Squares advents to me. Have a wonderful Christmas Holly and Elf!
Day 21: MSQC - is that a pincushion? Day 23: I do have a theme but tend to use plain "brown" craft paper or solid red paper so I can doodle on it, then I use all kinds of stuff for the decorations. When I had a bigger family (son, grandparents, parents, brothers, niece, friends) I would wrap everyone's presents in their own color paper but had specific decorations that they received each year so they would know their boxes because I don't use name tags. Now my family & friends are extremely small, and we don't exchange gifts but try to get together for a meal half way between our homes. So hard to plan that because the weather is unpredictable between Illinois and Tennessee.
Wow, I've never seen those rotary gripper holders, what a great idea! Loving the snowman theme today! I can't believe Stitch Supply had the snowflake box today, kismet! Super cute tags from them, monograms are "in"! Fun fact: Ann's husband (Stitch Supply) is a font designer! I've been making gift bags with Jeni Baker's lined drawstring bag and didnt' have to wrap any presents this year! The past couple years, she has added new patterns for free on her blog that are holiday themed, so much fun! Her website is In Color Order and her original lined drawstring bag pattern is the best. Forthe occasional paper wrapped gifts, I love Paper Source and Container Store so just get those on sale! Cleaning up the unwrapped gift papers is a trigger for me haha! I love going the reusable and sustaninable route, especially since fabrics and Jeni's patterns (especially the little house perfect for fussy cutting) are soooo cuttteeee! Great boxes today, enjoying these openings so much! Keep up the good work!
My favorite carol to sing is “Joy to the world”. But I love to listen to “Mary did you know”. Love the Bare roots kit. So sweet. The Bella Rose binder dolly is lovely. My deposit is down on their box for next year! Your elf gets a “ho, ho, ho” for her envelopes this year!. I make a pillow case for each grand and anything I get for them goes in the case. If I wrap anything that is in the case I wrap in tissue. I did the snowman thing one year too. Everyone loved it. You did great with your “marathon” today! Have a very Merry Christmas!
I love to wrap in brown paper wrap with red plaid ribbons and earthy tie ons! I also love to use reusable gift bags and this year I have found some lovely ones!! Trader Joes had some fun Christmas ones and those are so inexpensive and very nice!
I’m with you. I can’t get those grippy ruler thingies to work either. I buy one kind of paper and wrap all the gifts in that. I don’t have anyone local so I mail everything and they can then tell which are from me. The Bella Rose box was extraordinary. If I could afford to buy subscriptions boxes, this would be the one. Silent night
❤❤❤I buy paper according to person . And I love ribbon and bows. The little bitty scissors with the cap I would love to know where to get a pair. Thos was fun.
My favorite Christmas song is Christmas Wrap by the Waitresses, and Christmas Carol would be the First Noel, but really I love all Christmas Carols. It's hard to choose. If you asked me in an hour it might be different. Favorite item in all the boxes so far: The tailor's clapper from Bella Rose that had your name on it!
My favorite Christmas carol is”Oh holy Night”. I am glad you are doing three days of uncovering the advent boxes. There is just too much to do to prepare and finish what needs to be done before Christmas and on Christmas Day.
Oh you got lovely fabric for your 3 yard quilt from box B, I was not so lucky! One of the disappointing things from soft squares is that we don’t all get the same things. I won’t get this box again.
O Holy Night. Lol-my hubby would do the same as the elf’s husband-monsters! 😂 I don’t wrap a lot of gifts anymore-lots of bags (reusable). But I have used one paper for each person. So far Stitch Supply and Bella Rose are my favorite boxes to watch you open. Merry Christmas, Holly!
Love the idea of using brown paper. I have always enjoyed jazzing up the pkg. It's actually one of my happiest childhood memories. Mom would go shopping the day after Christmas, getting me a great assortment of happy to decorate the packages. Favorite Christmas song hands down, O Holy Night. Love to you Holly, roll up your sleeves and reclaim your space. And, 🎶🎼let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. 💐
My favorite carol is Mary Did You Know. I try to wrap each person's things in 2 different papers. This year I am recovering from hand surgery so whatever I haven't wrapped already will go into gift bags. I love the mug out of these days.
I wrap packages in two way. I love the shiny foil paper. I know it's not earth friendly but it's Christmas. This year, because of the expense, I didn't buy foil paper. I also love to wrap gifts in fabric. I usually get it all back.
I try to buy 2 or 3 papers in the same color scheme so the presents under the tree coordinate, my daughter buys the loudest wildest paper she can find to mess up my tree. We’ve been doing this for years and both enjoy it!
I’m trying to use up all the paper I have. I did make cute Santa sacks for my granddaughters. I saw one gal , I think she is in Denmark, who had a good set of Jenny bowls. They were darling.
I wrap presents with one paper per person, all their gifts would match. My children started using cereal boxes as wrapping for friends gifts and that lasted until they graduated college 😊
It's a pin cushion gnome, Holly & Elf. I love that Georgia fabric collection. You didn't like the Georgia fabric bundle. I usually don't like Lavendar & yellow, but it's lovely in this collection, I think it would be a good fit for a 1930s type quilt. I got the MSQ day 3 intact & used them in cookie baking. To hold chopped nuts, etc, not as a measuring cup. I was disappointed with MSQ because of the miserable amount of fabric included, most all the gifts were MSQ branded items made in China & of low value & not for quilting, such as the cardmaking kit, the bowl covers, the clutch, the embroidery kit, the fake Legos, the Jenny button (without batteries, humph), the pillow charm pack, of fugly fabric, the monogram kit. I only liked measuring bowls, the iron tin box, the house door panel (companion fabrics included would have been nice), the mug, the gnome pin cushion, the ornaments. Splitting craft projects into to 2 days was cheap on their part. One craft project complete in one gift, unless large amounts of fabric used, not just a charm pack. Anyway, I won't get it again next year. I purchased Soft Squares A & B, although I didn't like everything, I like 90% of the days. Next year, I'll spend the Advent box $$$ for things I want as a splurge, such as a Lori Holt binder, a complete fabric collection of a designer such as Tula Pink or an Aurafil thread pack or a Fat Quarter Shop subscription box or better yet, an Intrepid Threads Liberty subscription box or the Christmas one. I think I would enjoy those better. The $600 some dollars would be better spent. Merry Christmas.
Hello Holly and love the headpiece again. I like my wrap to match the color of the Xmas ornaments, which I used change up. My fav Xmas songs are Silent Night , also sang in church and school choirs so there are lots of songs that I love. No tree this year they got too expensive so I have been watching TH-cam to see how others are enjoying the Xmas time. You are so good with this especially as you have medical challenges. Take good care of yourself and keep on smiling , it looks good on you💜💜
I sew bags to wrap my gifts. This year they are made with red and black plaid or green and black flannel. I do not sing totally tone deaf. I was the kid that screeched to loud and was told by the nuns to move my lips only. I like to listen but really do not have one favorite Christmas song. I listen more to voices than the song. Love Bing Crosby. Well hope you have a Merry Christmas and will see you next video.
That was fun ❤❤ What a great idea to give yourself a couple days break. Hope get lots done and also manage to take time for yourself. Great collection of goodies 😊 My favourite Carol is Silent Night.
I tried to wrap each person's gifts in a theme to their liking. It could be a simple paper with a bow and decor or it could be a design paper with a simple ribbon. I don't have to put name tags on because everyone can usually tell by the packaging who it's for.
Carol of the Bells is one of my favorites. I recycle gift bags for the adults. The kids like wrapped gifts. I try to have a couple rolls of small print paper for little gifts and big prints for larger packages. I still have a lot of wrapping paper I bought after Christmas on clearance a couple years ago. 75% off regular price. I bought a lot.
The Bella Rose Binding thing was made by Sandy's husband and they painted them and modge podged the ball at the top. She said they will NOT be making anymore of them, so cherish the one you got. She said it was very labor intensive.
I did see several unboxings of day 3 with NOT broken measuring cups. And a few with them broken. My favorite Christmas carols are Mary Did You Know and O Holy Night. I wrap with sale wrapping paper that is cute.
Each person gets a certain paper. They seem to like the idea. TFS Bella Rose is a 12 day advent? 1 year I used brown wrapping paper and stamped it all up with different stamps for each person, started in July for that one. Lol but everyone loved it.
Hi Holly, how are you? My day 3 from Missouri Star was not broken. I have heard others say that theirs was broken and they contacted customer support and they will be replacing them.
Favorite Christmas Carol is Little Drummer Boy and El Shaddai. Favorite Christmas Songs are I'll Be Home For Christmas (Elvis), Blue Christmas (Elvis), Tennessee Christmas (Alabama), Christmas in Dixie (Alabama), Christmas Without You (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton), Hard Candy Christmas (Dolly Parton), Fairytale of New York (the Pogues), If We Make It Through December (Merle Haggard), Please Come Home For Christmas (Charles Brown original and Aaron Neville''s version), Endless Love (Jon Batiste and Aloe Blacc), Last Christmas (Wham), Merry Christmas Darling (The Carpenters), I also play a lot of Irish and American Indian music during the holidays - let me know if you want more ;-)
Brown paper bags w/ string; white butcher paper colored with crayons or colored pencil drawings, tinfoil w/ metallic bows and ribbon, or decorative bags or boxes w/ tissue paper. I refuse to buy wrapping paper for it to just be thrown away. Remind me to tell you a funny story about "tissue paper" one day. 🤣
I will never buy the MSQC box again. I don’t do embroidery, bags, stamping or etc. I only want fabrics and quilt patterns. I don’t think there is one out there. I did the Soft Squares box B this year. I don’t do table runners or wall hangings. I know….. too picky! Haha😂
I believe there are Christmas "songs," and then there are true Christmas "carols." I would rather hear the older traditional carols than the contemporary songs, with a few exceptions. My favorite CAROLS are "In the Bleak Midwinter" and "The Holly and the Ivy." And my favorite Christmas SONGS are "Mary, Did You Know?" and "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" (but it HAS to be the more traditional tune, as sung by Bing Crosby, rather than the other tune most are using these days). And did you know that the song "Joy to the World" was not originally a Christmas song, but was written by Isaac Watts in 1719 - not about the birth of Jesus Christ, but about his SECOND Coming. Listen to the lyrics and see what the author meant. Most people just take it for granted that it is about Christmas. I do enjoy more contemporary Christmas songs, and even novelty numbers, but the traditional carols just mean much more to me.
I bought MSQC box last yr and liked it better then this. Its a crafter box and lots of crap, not a sewer or quilter box. I dont do , or have any interest in what they offered to make this yr. I did buy the $85 end of bolt sale instead this yr. as my Christmas present this yr. , and that was much better for me. Even though 9 of the pieces were halloween, the total length worked out to $3.28 per yd. Lots of plans and making gift bags too with what i got. Loved the soft squares quilt set, now thats what should be in a quilters advent box.😊😊
Oh holly , I love that red set 3 yard material and pattern, especially the red floral.,, just if your thinking of giving it away, yes being bold, sorry. ❤
i looked at what you spent on all these boxes. i would say reduce the number of boxes , keep a couple and maybe buy a surprise item from a store and share your surprise. it just seems to me a lot of the items are just “filler “ items and we just don’t need them although we could use them but is the price worth it. open gate and bella rose shine above the others so far. the company with the pretty box - box is lovely but contents just don’t shine for the price! talking about wrapping paper everytime you grab soft squares A & B i think oh the poor landfills. don’t like those plastic bags at all! my favorite carol is O Holy Night. funny every year it is one of the carols i hear and my soul settles into the christmas spirit! love you opening several days together too but i will miss you over the next few days as you are my christmas carol . i wake up and have a cup of coffee with you - and maybe watch the snow falling “ holly we have snow too”
Hi Holly! What is that little thing from Bella Rose that looks like ax knitty knoddy? You said you collect tg hem. Inquiring minds... Blessings and Merry Christmas! Oh! My favorite Christmas carol is The Holly and The Ivy. Toodles!
I wrap everything in the same paper…and then every 7 years or so I do a scrappy wrap where I use up all of those leftovers. I tend to like the more modern Christmas albums (Barenaked Ladies and Amie Mann are two of my favorites)…and I think the they 3 yard quilt kit was one of my favorites that you opened…so I have to disagree with you and the elf there!
Watch Jenny’s video today before you give the Gnome away. You just might want to keep it or at least share the story with the recipient. I loved mine before watching and loaded it with pins. It will be my companion when I sew and I will think of those beautiful children it helped.
My favorite Christmas carol is “Mary did you know” such a beautiful song that represents the season for me. Love your snowman head piece.!
My sister has collected snowmen forever. The head piece is wonderful.
My favorite carol is Silent night sang at church. Also I love Mary, did you know. Merry Christmas 🎄
This year I wrapped with one paper theme usually it is what ever is fun or makes me smile
I love your 3 yd quilt from soft squares happy fabric
I’m an old grandma and I love the 3 yd quilt kit!!!!
My favorite Carol is Silent Night.
Reading all the songs listed brought back some great memories
I love to wrap, and presentation is very important to me. My husband jokes that the wrapping is often nicer than the gift (only sometimes true). I use a different paper for each recipient. I use real ribbon and make real bows. No stick-ons, and no bags! I also like to add "package toppers" which can range from dollar store items to expensive ornaments (purchased after Christmas for next year if I can). I like "Oh Holy Night" as it's very dramatic and enjoyable to sing. Merry Christmas everyone!
I love Minki Kim . Took her bag making retreat , so is so lovely
O Holy night and A Baby Changes Everything are my favorite Christmas songs. I love your channel. thank you for sharing.
I love hearing all Christmas Music. Lots of goodies in your box’s this year. Thanks for sharing.
Mary did you know is one of my favorite songs.
Holly, Eclectic Quilter has a phenomenal advent box! You should check it out! I am watching Carolina Moore open it and am vey jelly! Definitely getting in on this one next year!
I actually saw a lady living in Spain who got the MSQC advent whose day 3 was miraculously not broken.
My favorite Christmas Carol is “ Let there be peace on earth” I cry every time❤
I love the Christmas Stitchery project, I do not know how to Embroider, but I’d give it a shot, so pretty.
My Day #3 from my MSQC was not broken. I thought the mug was beautiful and loved the weight and quality of it.
Day 21: MSQC - is that a pincushion?
Day 23: I do have a theme but tend to use plain "brown" craft paper or solid red paper so I can doodle on it, then I use all kinds of stuff for the decorations. My MSQC Jenny Box day 3 was not broken. I love the set so much!
My favorite is Oh Holy Night, so beautiful and dramatic. I love the stitch supply artwork on their box ❤ Hugs!🤗
My favorite carol to sing is “Joy to the world”. But I love to listen to “Mary did you know”. Love the Bare roots kit. So sweet. The Bella Rose binder dolly is lovely.
My #1 Christmas carol is, Mary Did You Know? My 2nd fav is Oh Holy Night. 😍
❤❤❤I buy paper according to person . And I love ribbon and bows. The little bitty scissors with the cap I would love to know where to get a pair. Thos was fun.
Day 21, my daughters birthday AND the winter solstice. The days will now begin to get longer!!! 😊 Fun multi day box opening. So many nifty gifts!
Favorite Xmas song: Mary, Did You Know?
I love the Stitch Supply Box-so cute.
⛄️⛄️⛄️⛄️
Oh you got lovely fabric for your 3 yard quilt from box B, I was not so lucky! One of the disappointing things from soft squares is that we don’t all get the same things. I won’t get this box again.
My cousin and me both got the Jenny box (her 1st time). We went on facetime every morning and opened together. Day 3 was just fine for both of us.
More snow than I usually get! Lol
My favorite Carole is holy night. I try to make mine match. Not to brag but my day 3 was not broken.
You received a mini charm pack the other day of Georgia to go with the fabric and pattern.
Freezer paper works for wrapping. Have a very merry Christmas!

Hello Holly and love the headpiece again. I like my wrap to match the color of the Xmas ornaments, which I used change up. I know numerous people whose Missouri Star day three wasn't broken. They ship over 30,000 boxes.
I have a note pad app on my phone which I love! No worries about leaving the pesky paper note at home!
That was fun ❤❤ What a great idea to give yourself a couple days break. Hope get lots done and also manage to take time for yourself. Great collection of goodies 😊
My favourite Carol is Silent Night.
My favorite Christmas carol is Oh Holy Night too.
I did see several unboxings of day 3 with NOT broken measuring cups. And a few with them broken.
I tried to wrap each person's gifts in a theme to their liking. It could be a simple paper with a bow and decor or it could be a design paper with a simple ribbon. I don't have to put name tags on because everyone can usually tell by the packaging who it's for.
So good to see the snow and to see you happy Holly. Have a wonderful holiday be safe be blessed and know that I love you and pray for you often.
❤❤
Carol of the Bells is one of my favorites. I recycle gift bags for the adults. The kids like wrapped gifts. I try to have a couple rolls of small print paper for little gifts and big prints for larger packages. I still have a lot of wrapping paper I bought after Christmas on clearance a couple years ago. 75% off regular price. I bought a lot.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 😊
My favorite Christmas carol is Silent Night.

Have a great weekend! Thank you for all you do 💖
I did see several unboxings of day 3 with NOT broken measuring cups. And a few with them broken. My favorite Christmas carols are Mary Did You Know and O Holy Night. I wrap with sale wrapping paper that is cute.
The gnome is a pin cushion. I got one too
Each person gets a certain paper. They seem to like the idea. TFS Bella Rose is a 12 day advent? 1 year I used brown wrapping paper and stamped it all up with different stamps for each person, started in July for that one. Lol but everyone loved it.
I love Oh Holy Night and away in the manager.
Hi Holly, how are you? My day 3 from Missouri Star was not broken. I have heard others say that theirs was broken and they contacted customer support and they will be replacing them.
Silent Night is my fave carol. I dont sound the best because it is lower than my voice goes, but we would sing it each year.
Oh Holy Night
Love the gnome!!!!
Silent Night and Carol of the bells
My day 3 wasn't broken.
You know what they say, "Them that don't ask, don't get." OK, I don't know who says that, I read it somewhere & it stuck with me, LOL.
i looked at what you spent on all these boxes. i would say reduce the number of boxes , keep a couple and maybe buy a surprise item from a store and share your surprise. it just seems to me a lot of the items are just “filler “ items and we just don’t need them although we could use them but is the price worth it. open gate and bella rose shine above the others so far. the company with the pretty box - box is lovely but contents just don’t shine for the price! talking about wrapping paper everytime you grab soft squares A & B i think oh the poor landfills. don’t like those plastic bags at all! my favorite carol is O Holy Night. funny every year it is one of the carols i hear and my soul settles into the christmas spirit! love you opening several days together too but i will miss you over the next few days as you are my christmas carol . i wake up and have a cup of coffee with you - and maybe watch the snow falling “ holly we have snow too”
Go tell it on the mountain
Hi Holly! What is that little thing from Bella Rose that looks like ax knitty knoddy?
You said you collect tg hem. Inquiring minds...
Blessings and Merry Christmas!
Oh! My favorite Christmas carol is The Holly and The Ivy. Toodles!
It is a binding holder. 😊
@@lauralovestoquilt Thanks! I was flummoxed on that one, too.
I give everyone there on paper.
The little drummer boy🎄
Mary did you know
Ooooo, this makes me tear up when I hear it.
Silent night
Mary Did You Know
