Zelensky was actually smart bc invading Kursk delays any peace negotiations and Zelensky can have a excuse to still be the president of Ukraine bc his presidential term expired long ago and the only thing keeping him in power is martial law.

False: The Ukrainian offensive on January 5 was destroyed. I don't understand why you add territory to Ukraine. The offensive lasted 2 days and it couldn't capture or secure what you are saying.....

For Ukraine unless they strongly believe a deal is possible I don’t see how this is a good long term decision. Long term Russia will cutoff the salient and crush the pocket and the gap might push back the whole line. For Russia they can take Donbas and Donetsk and just hold in Kursk to get Kursk back later. Putin has held his election and can control the governors he has atleast one year of supplies and then they run out.

My forecast: Putin has the strength for 2025 and 2026, but Ukraine does not, because it is already conscripting 18-year-old children. It will be bad for us after the war, but it will be even worse for Ukraine

Why is everyone repeating this nonsense about Ukraine capturing Kursk? They captured Sudzha, a small city with a population of less than 5,000 people, located right on the border, and several half-empty villages where no one has lived for a long time except old folks. And even then, nearly busted a gut and lost thousands of soldiers.
In July 2024 there were rumors about Putin's peace plan. Ukraine had to leave lot of territories. Like Finland in 1940 according to peace agreement lost 5 times more territory than Soviet army managed to occupy. In case Ukrainians are in Kursk region, peace negotiations can't start neither with leaving extra territories nor with freezing fronline.
