I was lucky to find a ton of vintage fabric scraps at a yard sale a few years ago. And a lady I met at a thrift store gave me a so much fabric that it literally took me 5 car loads to get home with it all. I had so much fabric that it took me days and days to go thru it all. you have given me so many ideas on how to use some of these fabrics. So thank you so much.
Great Idea Nazy!! Been married 38 years and definitely have favorite recipes from My cooking, and many other family members. I LOVE having my passed down recipes handwritten...not only will the food from the recipe bring back wonderful memories but seeing a loved one's handwriting is also a sweet memory. Thank you so very much for this video share!!
This video couldn't come at a better time! I am using that exact same Betty Crocker cookbook to make a special journal for my mom. The Betty Crocker cookbook belonged to my grandmother and I am turning it into a place for her to keep treasured family recipes. This really helped with some inspiration. 😊
A beautiful way of organizing recipes.I will make one for my mom.A smaller one .She has some recipes unique to her.And what a beautiful way of recording her hand written recipes for her kids and grandkids to read and follow later on.Best way to make mom happy.Love your ' intent' , if I may say.
No worries about cutting the wrong place. Yes, just tape/glue. I'm really impressed with the great job of covering the inside of that binder so effortlessly! (No measuring with a ruler! Just my style!)
I love this binder! Great find!
Ooooh! I love the pink-flower wall paper border! It's just perfect with the folder you put it on.
Love your recipe journal! Recipes to share is great, too! (I just kept adding comments as I watched you create this! Thanks for sharing! Love the real life!)
I'd LOVE to see more of your book. I'd also love to see a kit of the wallpaper and beautiful fabrics to make my own in your shop! I wish I had that binder! haha!
I wish I could "thumbs up" this project 10 times! Absolutely love it!
I've been collecting cookbooks for over 30 years and they have about taken over the whole house ! As you say , I only.use certain recipes so this is a perfect idea !
I love this video !
So cute! Love that you love all different types of food!
I love, love, love this. I have to try it. I have papers and cookbooks everywhere and when I am looking for a specific something, it takes forever to find if I am lucky enough to find it at all. I would love to see more of your cookbooks and your cooking. It was so nice to see you leave in your mistake in your cutting. I used to watch some videos and everything they made was so perfect and inevitably, when I would try to replicate the project, I made a ton of mistakes. So thank you so much for showing your human-ness and making me feel better about my crafting abilities, such as they are. I am loving your videos. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
Lovely idea!!!! Have everyone in your family hand write a favorite recipe to go in it also. What a family keepsake!!!!!!
Such fun! I really enjoyed this one. Let's see more!
Just watched the video where you turned a binder into a recipe book. If my grandmother was alive that would have been a great gift. I swear you are Amazing! Love watching your videos.
Thanka so much for this idea. I would definitely like to see more of this. I have TONS of recipes on scrap paper, and many recipe books I rarely use. Now I know what to do with them all and get down to ONE binder. I am continually inspired by you. Thank you
How fun! Such a nice way to use up scraps and to keep your recipes all in a special place :) thanks for sharing
I love the floral wallpaper border as a pocket, I am going to have to hunt down some flower border wallpaper now!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
Loved seeing this. Very cool. Can't wait to see you using it
Fun project that you can use all the time in the kitchen👍😊💛
It turned out so cute! What a great idea.
Love the colors and theme of the journal and especially that you showed the boo-boo’s! 🌸 I started a binder years ago and now am excited again to add to it. Thanks for sharing!
I have 50 vintage cookbooks with sticky notes sticking out. And they are getting old and starting to fall apart. I love this idea as a means to rescue some of my favorite recipes out of these books, and then I can use the rest for journal pages! And maybe....relcaim a little real estate on the shelf!
Hi Nazy,
I really love this idea! I have so many cookbooks and I really only refer to about three. Most were given to me by people who were making room for other things. I love the idea of keeping my favorite recipes in one lovely cook book journal, thanks for the inspiration. I would love to see more. Best regards, Millie
Very cute idea I have everything shoved in a binder now I'm going to decorate it💝
when my mom died, we went thru clothes, jewelry, and makeup etc....and all in a state of shock...then about 4 months later I opened my moms 3 recipe boxes....a pandora box of treasured memories that hit me so hard, I actually hadn't grieved or even cried until I started going thru recipes...how intimate...the memories of when she cooked that, a family reunion, a potluck...the cake she always made with icecream, the candy she and her friends used to make at Christmas, dads favorite pie,...I found myself weeping and now I know what I am going to do with them...I'm going to put them in a journal with pictures and notes etc....and then make me some, one for recipes I make, recipes I want to try, and one for herbs, vitamin and mineral content of fruits and vegetables and nuts etc....so I went looking for a recipe journal! thankyou!
Rae Boyd sweetheart, this is the greatest thing that you can do to preserve the heirloom that your sweet mother left you ❤️ it’s going to become a special treasure!
Ahhh, I love watching Amity Bloom to relax after a long stressful day.
*Nazzy starts yelling because she cut the wrong square*
Ahhh..... relaxation..........
Juul hahah this made me giggle!! ☺️

So cute!! A Cropadile is perfect for punching through anything. Only way I can make some of the pages I do lol! Yes would love if you put out a flower kit!
Such a lovely idea, just cannot get enough of your creations and your great ideas. You are a true artist and creator. Thank you for sharing.
What a great idea! I've been collecting embellishments, gingham scrapbook paper and dies to go with this theme, because I wanted to create a recipe scrapbook... but this is so much better! My most favorite recipes are in a plastic folder... so thanks for sharing, Loes ☺
I would love to see your cooking vids!
So glad to see you doing this. Just got a binder to do the same thing with my recipes. Think it's a great creative solution. Thanks for sharing💕
Good idea, beautiful binder! Tfs:) God bless!
I LOL'd when you said, "I'm a hoarder of cookbooks." And I thought, "I'm a hoarder of ALL books . . . ooooh! I don't have THAT Betty Crocker one!" LOVE how it's a different flavor (ha!) of junk journal.
Cutting the wrong square: that's a good metaphor for life, isn't it? LOVE this project and what a special keepsake project for your future children. Cook with your mom! ;-)
Your binder is beautiful! I have a plain white binder with plastic top loading sleeves that I put my recipes in. lol. It's so plain and functional. I need something pretty! Loved the bloopers and your Bob Ross shirt.
this is so cool and interesting! loved it
Very nice. I love the retro colors and prints!! One of my favorite looks.
You have a really unique style and good ideas! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I would LOVE to see more of your cook book and you cooking! Thanks for sharing your talents!!!
Dianne Young Yay!! thank you Dianne for watching!!! I will of course be sharing more videos of how I further customize my cookbook journal and sharing some yummy recipes as well :)
Amity Bloom that will be so fun! Can't wait!! And I'm glad you'll be sharing recipes! I am a cookbook hoarder too and total foodie! My favorite place is amongst my cookbooks and in my kitchen preparing food for those I love!
Great idea, Nazy! I have such a collection of cookbooks and recipes and you are right that we never use all of a cookbook. We have our favorites that we return to time after time. My next organizational project.....TFS!
Love this Nazy! All of my momma's handwritten recipes were thrown away in the trash by a sibling who thought no one would want them. Oh my goodness.....I was so very sad! I would have loved to have them and kept them forever. Just to have her recipes in her own handwriting is a precious thing. Looking forward to seeing your series with this cookbook journal!
Nazy, This video is so awesome. All the elements that you incorporated in your cook journal are beautiful. I love the colours and patterns and the different types of paper and the fabric oh!....those vintage fabrics are lovely! Yes, I would love to see more of your work in this binder and also I will be on the look for those fabric kits. Hugs Renee. 💕
Very pretty! Awesome job!
Love this! I am making one right now for a friend!
I have sons, but they want my recipes that they love.....I am making the first one out of a junior BH&G vintage cookbook. Thanks for the tips! Sandy ❤
😂I was yelling “No! Don’t cut that off!!” In my head while watching! It’s nice to see that you didn’t let your mistake slow you down. ❤️
Love this video. By chance I am also starting a recipe cookbook/journal. I'll be using recipes of my grandmother, mother and sister as well as my own. You've given me several ideas. I'd love to see more of this and I'd love to see you make some of your recipes.
I really like to watch your thought process on making these. I have been collecting the cookbooks and vintage recipes for awhile now and have amassed quite a few of them. I have not tackled one yet because I wasn’t really sure where to start. This gives me great inspiration and a place to start. TFS and I just want to say, absolutely love all of your videos.
I absolutely love this!! I’m going to work on one for myself this coming weekend! Will be nice to put my grandmothers recipes she passed down and my mother’s recipes in it. 😊. Will be a nice book to hand down to my daughter. I enjoy your videos so much! Thank you for sharing your beautiful soul and amazing talent! ❤️. I fell in love with French cuisine too when I visited Paris in 2013. ❤️❤️❤️

Naaazyyyyy!! I'd love to see more of your space there! I work in a slanted loft also and find it so hard to organize with out wall space for taller shelves. I've made it work and I love the cozy feeling of it up there but its slightly overwhelming when organizing. Loads of love and light, I'm gonna watch the rest of the video now 😂💛💚
I have been preparing a cook book for my sister's bday present I'm so glad you shared this with us today, I feel very encouraged to complete this book now. Wonderful video!!

Love your videos, Nazy! Winter is a good time for a project like this.
Love this! I made a similar recipe book last year for a friend. You can add pictures of the person whom you got the recipe from if its a family treasure or from a friend. I would love to see a few cooking videos too. I am sure you would make something yummy and the video would be informative and pleasant to watch. Thanks for sharing.
everything you do turns out beautifully. I love the papers you used and the fabric. I would love to see how you continue filling up this binder and how you decorate it.
It was facilitating to watch you work through your decision making process! 😊 And, it was great to listen to your theme music while watching the "speed through" part! Such fun! Nazy, you just have the perfect touch that makes ordinary = extraordinary! Love watching your videos! 😊
Such a fun (and useful) video! Thank you! Your supplies are gorgeous............
Definitely more of your process
This is so cute, love it. Hugs Susanna xx
I love this! This gave me to much inspiration :)
Please continue with this as a series ❤️
Love this idea❣️
PLEASE show us more!!!! I am just starting one of these for myself! Sandy
Add clear inserts. The top loading one. Those will be really handy for recipes written on old papers. You can even scribble on the plastic thing with sharpie if you dont want to ruin the old recipe.
nur afifah oh my gosh you are a genius!! I would of never thought to write over it with sharpie, amazing! Sometimes I have to modify a recipe and that way the sharpie would become extremely helpful, thank you!! ☺️
Amity Bloom you're welcome. 🙃 Please do a journal with me video in this binder from time to time! Definitely enjoyed it.
I also use a dry erase marker in case I need to not keep my notes permanent 😊
Really sweet. Love this!!!
Corinne Curtis Yay! I'm so happy you liked it Corrine! Will definitely share more in a couple weeks :)
This was the first video that I ever watched here, and I made a recipe binder at the time, too! unfortunately mine doesn't came out great, so now I'm trying to make another one with fabric. Would love to see if you're still using it, Nazi 🥰💜
Love it!!! ❤️
This is a wonderful recipe journal, Nazi! I have a binder with my favourite recipes in but it was done years ago before I got into journals so it looks no where near as fabulous as yours. I should fix that! Debbie :)
Hey Nazy. What a beautiful journal. I am teaching a recipe junk journal class this weekend. You have some great ideas. I love my fabric. Thanks so much.
Making one from famu recipes for xmas this year. Thanks for the tips.
Love this! Would love to see more of how you fill this recipe book.
