  • Recycling with single-stream technology is helping communities recycle more waste from their garbage collection. Waste Management is on a mission to drive environmental performance with solutions that minimize waste, recycle valuable resources, and create renewable energy. We are investing in single-stream technology and building recycling facilities, like the Philadelphia Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), to help extract the highest possible value from the materials we manage. www.wm.com/

Thanks for making and sharing this video. I always wondered how you handled single-stream recycling.

Those people working the conveyor belt don't get paid enough, no matter how much they make!

This is the first TH-cam video I have needed to watch at ¾ speed. Very informative though. I was surprised to hear them describe a “paper magnet” - seems like it is another air vacuum device?

how about the fact China stopped taking our great recyclables 6 years ago...? You say customers, but in reality these things aren't being recylcled but piled up in some poor country in mountains...aluminum is the only one that makes sense for recycling. The energy required to mine it makes sense to put it back through the system. Glass is sand...no big deal. Paper...no big deal. But plastics; no one is taking most of it. And the jobs this process creates is not a very good or nice job; picking through trash. China won't even have their people do it.

Trump’s trade war with China prompted them to stop taking our recyclables.

Waste Management is not a philanthropic nor an altruistic organization. First they charge their customers a monthly fee to use their recycling bins and then they sell the recyclable materials we give them. It’s a fantastic money maker for WM.
