    in my opinion this is one of the more balanced presentations of this skill. thank you for your integrity and all the work you've put into this. I have been doing this sort of thing for about 30 years so you and I have similar hobbies, and I can tell that what you are showing is authentic.

    I don't understand why people are calling your training "fake". Are there different ways to accomplish results? Sure! I watch your videos because you're calm and professional and encouraging. I have only just begun my training as I have recently started in Karate (Shotokan), but I have learned so much about myself- spiritually and physically. I am still a Westerner at heart, but I appreciate the Eastern way so much. I find it mysterious and intriguing.
    I really believe that you have devoted so much of your life to these arts because they improve your existence and that you share this information with the world, because you want to make the world a better place. So many of the people who leave these negative comments must have no idea of what real martial arts training consists of. They see a 2 minute compilation of slow-motioned well-choreographed movements in a motion picture with inspiring music and then feel qualified to make assessments about what is "real" and what is "fake".
    Honestly, real training is boring. It's repetitive and at times feels mundane- but it's in the repetition that you strengthen your mind. When you become a sentinel- uncontrolled by impulse, desire or emotion. This is true peace. This is true power and self-control.
    Thank you Jake. Thank you for championing the ways of Old- for keeping the tradition of it. And for making it fun too.
    Blessings to you on your Journey. kachou fuugetsu

      5Truths Dude wake up.Look at his face half time you can see he's laughing because he knows what he's selling is bullshit.For example in Iron Palm you don't use 2-3 different lineaments you find one you like and stick with that.Nearly all Iron Palm practitioner's will tell you to only drop the weight of your arm onto a bag in the beginning this idiot is telling you to drop your body weight as you strike that will cause an injury if your hands aren't already conditioned.I could go on all day about how fraudulent he is just giving you a couple of examples.

    I recall when my friend and fellow martial artist, Richard Vera had the grand opening for the kwon he had in Alhambra, CA many years back. He did a demonstration of Iron Palm that was quite impressive. He spent more than a year preparing for the demonstration. He was able to break over a dozen 2"X12"X4" (I think that was the size) bricks with a slap of the hand. He was also able to break one specific brick as well as bricks separated by popsicle sticks. All this while holding a mug of beer in one hand, taking a swig, and slapping the bricks with the other. Quite impressive.

    You should try making your own Dit Da Jow. I think it's something you would find fun. Rather than buying liniment oils, you'll buy a pack of herbs, the size depending on the jug/jar you're putting it in. Most people prefer half gallons or gallons. Than you simply mix the herb with Vodka, Gin, or in rare cases (not recommended) rice wine. Than you basically let it ferment for several months, or even years if you wish. I'm sure it's something you would find, "enlightening."

    I think most martial artists people will know mastering a few brand name styles doesn't make you master in kungfu. Years and years of practice and tempering your mind body and soul make you master. These are more like introductory lessons into pieces of kungfu. To be a master you need a to have a master or mastered many styles and even then you would have to prove you mastered all the styles through demonstration or sparring. But you can master single pieces of style , but it doesn't necessarily make you kungfu master/instructor.

    Surely doing the fist conditioning on the ground like that with your elbows sticking out, incorrectly aligns the body, so you not only miss out on the opportunity to transfer the effect properly along your arms, but contrary to what you said, does the complete opposite of training you to use your whole body?
    Where in martial arts are you dropping your body weight onto an opponent? Striking is all about the hip rotation, which you are completely omitting by conditioning at that angle.

    • @sephiroth21347
      @sephiroth21347 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Mat Broomfield but this is simply iron bone palm training, focusing directly on the hand and forearms. Its conditioning for the bones, not training for actual combat. Surely when he gets to iron bone leg training, he will condition it as well

      None of this was about how best to strike an opponent or fighting at all. This was about conditioning bone structure. Did you even watch the video, or do you just not understand how training works? In training, not everything that you do will be demonstrated in a final show of skill. This was purely about strengthening and condition bone structure and how to do it safely and it was very well made.

    Hey Jake, this may sound weird but it was really helpful for me to hear that you are on the taller side. I for one and 6'4" but it seemed to me that most of the great martial artists are much shorter and I didn't know if being tall was detrimental to excelling at martial arts. It has boosted my confidence to see that a great martial artist like yourself is also tall.

    • @Bernardfung2002

      First, Mace is fake Kung Fu learner and master.
      For your question, the found and develop of all kind of matrial arts. Because is using to against bigger dude. That's why it seems most master were short.
      If you interesting Kung Fu. Refer to your build, I will suggest Hung Kar (Southern side), or Baiji (Northern side). Those are powerful and suit for big guy like you.

      +Bernardfung2002 How is he fake?

    • @Bernardfung2002
      @Bernardfung2002 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ekton Okay, he might know something about kung fu or fitness. But the idea of those Kung Fu were wrong. He is packaging his move and labelled Kung Fu. Those stuff he showing is not real. Fine with me if he just claims he pick up idea from Chinese martial arts. But he is misleading people who dont know or misunderstand the real Kung Fu.
      The term Iron Palm appeared in Western world because of movie. In those fiction or movie there are ton of moves name as iron palm, because no one know how to translate them. Barely to say, there are only one may named as iron palm. Trust me, the way of training will hurt your body so bad and nothing about the bones, and I wont suggest anyone to try. Anyway, what he showing in this video is not the real iron palm. Is still hurt your body if you are not young enough.

      Ekton Honestly, I dont know him in person. So, I cannot tell is he really fake. But what he show in his video were misleading people. Dont try to use it in real life. That s my comment.

      +Ekton You dont have to set the goal "become master" if you want to be one. Pick one might interest you. Keep learn and practice to shape and smooth your skill. Thats all you have to do. There are no actual title in Chinese Kung Fu.

    Makiwara is Japanese. Not Chinese. You leave out the third strike and should never use force like you do. Let gravity do its thing. Plus you are bouncing your body. There are breathing exercises that should be done before hitting. Do you not know any?
    If anyone out there wants to make their own Dit Da Jow, send me a message for the recipe. Will save you money depending on where you buy the herbs. Plus you don't have to purchase hitting bags when you can make you own. I will also describe the breathing exercise done prior to hitting if interested.

    Nice video as always.
    I just started last week in a Kum Lau Kungfu school. Even in the first lessons they give hardening exercises we have to do with partner (lower arm, palms, upper legs, shoulder).
    Question: With learning the new stances my upperlegs are burning like hell. Would those LINIMENTS be helpfull for this? Any other tips are welcome.
