Hoenheim creates an eastern-looking dragon while Father creates a western-looking dragon during their fight, representing their connections to the east and west of the world: Hoenheim to Xing and Father to Amestris.
Sloth: Died from over exertion; and in his final moments, just excepted that he was dying, after dwelling on it for a moment. Sloth was an exploited, unappreciated laborer; who wanted nothing but rest from his work. Too simple minded and complacent to rebel (like Greed did), Sloth worked night and day;; digging the tunnel. And when he finally finished this great project, he was tasked with killing the Armstrong siblings. But this proved too difficult and he was forced to give his all in the effort; only to die from exhaustion, in the attempt. In the end, Sloth finally got the rest he so desperately wanted; but it came in the cruelest way possible.
15:30 I actually think about this a lot in my own time, all these "evil" characters, or villains, or whatever you want to call them, I've always love how some were written or simply designed, like Emperor Belos from The Owl House or Madara for having some really quite nice hair and actually being interesting, It's fun liking a character for how they are even if their values wouldn't line up with ones own
and here we are, my absolute favourite set of episodes. A 60 year old man who does NOT use his super powered Homunculus Eye Power, singled-handedly takes down all Briggs Soldiers and a Tank without getting injured even once. Then it takes a hell of a lot more to actually put him down too. Fuhrer King Bradley, the single biggest badas in all of Anime ever.
@@technofsfsfsfs Nope, that's just the highest level of Human strength speed and skill with fighting, he was trained to be the absolute best example of humanity from birth in every aspect. @@UncensoredScion Humans can't dodge into an oncoming bullet in order to dodge another oncoming bullet and then move to the side, dodging both bullets....
I could be wrong, but the eyebrow raise of Bradley was out of shock and begrudging admiration. The homunculi despise humanity, they see them as week spinless fools who only exist to be fuel. But here this human stands, meer human, not even an alchemist, a plain old human with gun raised standing his ground against certain death. Even tho he's quivering and balling his eyes out, by that as it may, he still stands his ground ready to die. He, for a lack of better words, stands defiantly against what all the homunculi believe humanity is. Bradley had a tinge of respect for him. He could have easily just killed him and open the gate himself, who was gonna stop him? But he went out of the way to basically try flexing on him, to bend him to his will, another gutless human to control. But he was wrong. Such a small scene but that eyebrow raise speaks a thousand words to those who get it
It is funny, at first we hear that Alex fled the battle, and that seems completely out of character. But then he says why, he says he fled rather than turning on the military once he realized they were slaughtering a civilian population. He was afraid, of fighting his friends like Roy and the high command like Bradley
It mostly seems out of character because we get to know him years after the war and he has let the shame of running away motivate him to be a better person.
lets us rage, rage against the dying of the light. Edit: Alex and Sig insta bonding is such a beautiful moment. Edit 2: 9:45 ish, yes they are both dragons, Hoenheim's is based on the Stone Guardian Dragon statues seen widely in Asia (super well known depiction being the one Mushu breaks in Mulan) while Father's is based off of a more European design (where they are of course monsters/destroyers)... this also mirrors where they both went after Xerxes, Hoe went to Xing and Father went to Amestris.
That glare when old man Fu makes it clear this fight just became personal. That old dog knows it just got personal and doesn't even flinch. His only sign of weakness is that he stopped talking for a moment to reassess the situation.
Izumi is an absolute Meanace. Pure essence of Black Airforde Energy. 9:40 a eastern and western Dragon, they both worshiped as Sages of East and West after all. 13:25 Im back Bitches! And after Izumi, and Hohenheim did his Thing, Wrath completly steals the Show, damn what never gets old.
The interesting thing about the dragons is how they're styled. Homunculus' dragon has a sort of European coat-of-arms aesthetic while Hohenheim's looks like what you might find in traditional Chinese art
the reason father without the human body resembles truth is because according to alchemical lore he IS truth. truth is both good and evil, everything and nothing, chaos and order, woman and man, ying and yang. alchemy had its foundations rooted in both christianity and eastern philosophy, and the writer of this show studied it thoroughly. the resemblance is intentional, although that part of truth was originally never viewed as evil, but more like a force of nature. the writer desided to make it the shows main antagonist, using the more black and white view of pure western religion to do so.
Hi Melon Oh man so many things to say here Let's start with Izumi and the Armstrong siblings first Mager Armstrong you would have me run away from this merely thought of fling living the battle fidd in decrease I swear on my life such a thing will never happen again Give me chill every time And than when Izumi comes in grabs Sloth by the arm toss him like a joke has here huban come back arm Sloth through the wall 🧱 is just assume The part Were King Bradley said I am back make me smile Because who does not love a great villain By the way Melon you have gotta go check out the 2003 version of Fullmetal Alchemist when you're done with Brotherhood it's so good plus you get more Fullmetal Alchemist in your life

never noticed this
Dear girl, Bradley has not yet BEGUN to Bradley
Ed Blaylock WAS a legend. May he rest in peace.
16:07 R.I.P. Ed "King Bradley" Blaylock

Sig and Armstrong instant bromance is always hilarious
The og version of them meeting will always hold a special place in my heart
Animelon on King Bradley is basically DBZA Vegeta: OH MY GOD, HE'S SO GOD. DAMN. COOL.
Drinking game: take a shot everytime she says "he is so cool".
P.S. I second that Bradly was one of my early anime crush.

Just his super powered Homunculus speed that literally weaves around bullets like it’s nothing. Still an absolute badass though.

I’m glad that your hype for Fuhrer King Bradley is there, because most FMAB fans have it.
The return of Bradley is so powerful and the song behind is perfect
9:07 When you said what!? On the seven deadly sins, i was cracking up 😂

Great reaction! Armstrong and izumi’s husband have an even better reaction when they first meet each other in the original FMA. It’s hilarious

The Armstrong/Curtis family BBQ will be passed down for Generations!!
I’ve never seen a character with more dog in them than fuhrur king Bradley
What about that one guy that was with Greed?
You mean the guy that is part dog? Nah
Pretty sure Nina has got Bradley beat there considering...

20:54 "I'm gonna fold...I'm gonna fold!"
King bradly is the coolest character ever
I remember when I asked for 2 episodes at a time, right in the first ones.
What a kind young lady you are.
Cheers from Brazil. o/
Ah, the manliest episode of anime
